Thank you for letting me know and I’m very sorry that happened - RandomTest didn’t catch it when I tested this morning. I’m going to bed shortly but will have a look at it when I’m back at my computer!

Got it! Also, I noticed something else and forgot to mention it in earlier post.

Was there supposed to be a scene here?

Scene

I made Catarina choose where we should go in Ch. 3 and she chose Korzha’s team. Later I chose to test survival and I feel like the scene got cut off. Here:

That’s definitely wrong! Thank you, I’ll sort that out too!

How do I get the “Romance the Officer” achievement?

@Mei_Hiroshi I’ve fixed the missing part of the expedition scene, but unfortunately I wasn’t able to replicate the “it is illegal to fall out of a *choice statement” error - I tried playing the scene and it displayed correctly. Could I check whether you were using a save slot from a playthrough from before the Chapter 3 update?

@Francisco_Teixeira You can’t get it yet - it’s in the list because of the others being there, but it’ll be something that gets triggered later. In an earlier draft I had it trigger if Korzha says they don’t romance in the workplace, and the PC thinks they’re happy to wait, but it didn’t quite feel right as it isn’t really “starting the romance” at that point.

HI @HarrisPS ! I play from the beginning and make new saves every time there is an update. So that I would have lesser chances of encountering errors and page breaks. If you want I can send you every choice I made until I got the error. I will send the details later in a post under this thread.

That would be really helpful if you’re able to do that!

That’s absolutely amazing, thank you for all that work doing that! I will look into it and see if I can get a better sense of what’s going on

I’ve got the same error with Korzha. And I also got this error with Savarel when I’ve tried the similar choice (I’m starting to feel a connection with Savarel. But I don’t want to say anything yet.) in the end of Chapter 3.

I’ve updated today with some tentative bugfixes for the falling-out-of-choice statements bugs that @Mei_Hiroshi and @winters_socaro found, and also the “too much recursion” bug that had reared its ugly head once more. On my end, neither of the bugs seem to be happening anymore - but I know it can be deceptive.

I’ve also done some other small tweaks, plus some edits to anatomy and intimate scenes, on which there is more detail (and a post that turned into an essay about how I’m coding these scenes) on the NSFW discussion thread.

Do you think you’ll write this book faster than you wrote Royal Affairs… you’re already writing Chapter 6 right?

It’s pretty good so far.

@FleurJane Thanks!

@Francisco_Teixeira I hope so! Royal Affairs had the bad luck of being started right when the pandemic took hold, on top of being written while I was also in other full time jobs, and I got very burned out and such (making Noblesse Oblige ironically helped me regain my writing momentum on Royal Affairs even though it wasn’t working on Royal Affairs). Although life throws curveballs, I’m writing Honor Bound under more stable conditions, and am doing it pretty much full time. So not only is it going more quickly, it is also stupendously large - I’m around halfway through Chapter 6 and it’s approaching the playthrough length of Crème de la Crème already. Edit: Honor Bound is planned to be 12 chapters in total. So there is still a fair way to go, but I’m working very quickly.

haven’t finished the demo, but gotta say this new game promises a lot. And when I say ’ a lot’ I mean A LOT.

It’s very very different from your previous games even if it is still in the same setting, world, and even has the old characters.

It really feels…different. Good different though. And seem to be on the heavy side…which totally hooks me in lol

it’s like a Thick book! you dread the amount of pages it holds, but once you are in the middle of it…you hope those pages will keep on going forever and the story will never end. Just one more adventure, please! Just add more shenanigans! More people to shake hands with!

Also, you seem to be ‘Branching’…which brings about new challenges.

Now for the most crucial question a player asks of the author: Can I smooche the Mom of the kid I’m guarding?

I’m so so glad you’re enjoying it! It is different in a lot of ways and I hope there is some familiarity too along the way (there are some characters from earlier games that will show up, some under some conditions and one who will always show up). There is regret and sadness, but also slice-of-life relaxation and fun times, and a bunch of peril of which there is a bit more than in Creme and Royal Affairs.

It is turning into quite a big one! And yes, lots of branching. What I thought when I was first outlining it was that I would make it longer to play with less branching… which has not really happened in the end

And yes, you can smooch Fiore when the time comes :two_hearts:

…and don’t forget! We get a different perspective to play from.

I wonder how that 1st game of yours would have turned out if we were in Karson’s shoes?

Imagine, you are the gardener. Think you can save that school?

It sure is promising a lot! Like I said, it is a good different overall. I hope you are enjoying the challenges that it brings as well

I’m over the moon! :star_struck:

Yes! It’s a very different perspective when not being a student and I’ve been really enjoying it.

(When I was coming up with a batch of ideas over Christmas last year which ended up with this game, one of the ideas I had was about being a teacher, and another was about being a school groundskeeper ala Karson - though not at this particular school - but they didn’t quite come together. Maybe one day!)

yeah, now you totally owe me a story with a sexy Gardener!
