Honor Amongst Thieves (WIP) — Updated 8/20/2025

Yep, she’s not supposed to be in prison if you’ve already saved her from Youri. I thought I separated the paths properly, but nope. Working on it now.

@idonotlikeusernames Also working on fixing the Allies and Enemies stats screen as well. (And depending on your choices, Aretas can definitely end up as an enemy.

Ooh, intriguing though I suppose it will, for my mc, still depend on whether or not the royal family actually turns out to be guilty of, or at least heavily complicit in taking teacher and Poldi from him. But if they do turn out to be he will never forgive them, no matter if Aretas had a personal hand in it or not. Realistically it would most likely have been Aretas’ father who’d be the truly guilty party here but if my mc really wants revenge against the royal family that may not ultimately matter, since it then becomes the simple equation that if they do turn out to have destroyed his family he will certainly try to destroy theirs in turn.

Thing is Aretas appears to be young, naïve and still a believer in fairytales. My mc really wonders if Aretas would have been so “nice“ if he knew my mc for what my mc really is, a thief, a killer and a locust and most certainly not a “noble“. Everything Aretas thinks he knows about the mc is a lie or an act or both, which means Aretas knows nothing about the mc at all and would probably kill mc if he knew mc had the audacity to impersonate a noble in any case.

It just makes you wonder what our teacher did if anything to get such a massive target on their back and who the ring leader is that is untouchable. Aretas becoming our enemy will cause a lot of problems especially loyalty from the guild but he seems to have a soft spot for us. I don’t think he would do anything unless something drastic happened to force his hand. I really want to deal with the second command guy that is literally taking over it despite the red flags that were ignored in the past

Yay ty! Yeah he’s and w our initial flirt options w Sutek and Merikh

Like here w merikh

Or here, where the options r both bold or aggressive

  • Also random and not important but I think the overhead RO description of Sutek doesn’t include his eye color

  • I was jw if perception influences intelligence?

  • Have u considered personality trait descriptions alongside the current skill descriptions?

  • I’d also like to say that I’ve obsessively replayed this. I love ur sense of humor  the scene in ch7 W Tamu In jail :joy: I was in hysterics about the prisoners and how her made them face the wall like children

Locked in immediately when i saw the option to grab desma by the throat

What did she do lol. She probably won’t turn on us but the noble better watch out. Apart from murderous thoughts and actual attempted murder on the noble which was stupid despite how annoying he is. She has our back with everything else so I have nothing against her.

i just think its hot

Bruh WTF, how is garbbing someone by the throat hot, well you do you if you are into that kind of freaking sex

@LeoneWrites Hey author, out of curiosity was Desma always a psycho or did I miss the clues due to falling in love with her or just liking her vibe before she tried to burn Merikh and no offence author, but I don’t think Queen Sarai should be romance option, it just kind of weird with her probably having a age that is closer to our MC’s guardians and her having a son that should be in the MC’s age group and is also a romance option, so if we do pursue a relationship with her how will that go exactly and again no offence but Heka can’t be a romance options, it shouldn’t need to be explained with him being a monk, they take oath of celibacy or does the religion in this world in the game allow monks to have relationship or are the MC and Heka relationship if romantic are gonna be explored but secretly or is Heka gonna give up that monk life to be with the MC

Sounds great

I wholeheartedly disagree. There is nothing inherently wrong with falling for someone older than yourself, and even in our own world, not all monks take vows of celibacy so why assume monks in this world do?

ok my bad on dating someone older than you, it is ok to do that stuff but I don’t think is possible to romance the queen especially when she literally gunning to put our MC under the ground should she caught a scent of our lies, I just don’t see a future when our MC confess feelings towards queen without along line being truthful of they identity which again the Queen clearly stated that she will have our head if we are discovered and what the h do you mean not all monks take the celibacy oath, you literally have to take the oath to become a monk and if a monk was found out to have relationships, then would be strip of that monk status

Lol for some people that’s part of the appeal the danger that comes with romancing the queen. And whis to say how she will react? Sure if she finds out it could and likely would be dangerous and yet what if she comes to love the MC back as well? Its a interesting thought and a temptation for some even if it could end badly.

As to the whole monk thing that would depend on the type of monk and what kind of vows they haven taken far as real world goes. An to the point it wouldn’t be the first time a monk has broken there vows after all we are just human.

Now what is the religious aspect like in the game world? Only author could say for certain after all for all we know it could be frowned upon or could be totally fine. After all romance can be different from physical intimacy.

Fr tho, kinda weird to have a honor system when we literally play as a thief, being a thief should straight up get you no honor.

Celibacy is only required for monks from some forms of Christianity, some forms of Buddhism, Hinduism, and Jainism. Other religions like Judaism or Islam do not require or actively discourage celibacy in their religious equivalents, so no, not all monks are required to be celibate. And if you are specifically talkin about Buddhism, Japanese Buddhism, Jōdō Shinshū, and Zen Buddhism do not require monks to be celibate.

Recently played this and binged it :face_savoring_food: I’ll probably have more cohesive thoughts after I process it (and replay). But, [insert I’ve only had Arlo meme here] if anything happens to Tamu, Sefu, & Desma :skull: I love our … flock? covey? clutch? Group snuggle (allopreen lol) plz

And in the later chapters, when Merikh’s brother brings out the board with the hounds and the jackals, will MC be able to taunt Sutek about who’s on a leash? :eyes:

Typos/bugs

I put unfinished words and etc in bold:
Clutching her skirt your heart is pounding. “Sancus said if we wanted to see you again we needed to hurry, but why?” Your eyes dart around, “And where is everyone? Where–where is Subira?”

The large brute takes advantage of this and slams the pommel of his sword into the side of Desma’s face and she staggers back.

Songs and voices that you haven’t heard in years once again greet your ears and you look down at yourself to see that you are once again a child. F You appear to be behind the curtain of the big stage, the same stage where you saw Beria for the last time.

the clay wine jug she had dropped laying on its side in front of her on the table and the front of he dress soaked in wine.

The guards see the two of you and ready their weapons, drawing the attention of Lord Menandros and King Aretas fro where they stood at the cliff’s edge.

“Lorn will make sure it arrives safely, however my king, I would prefer he leaves in the morning. He wards will secure the campsite while you are here,” Nari says and Aretas nods.

This sentence repeats:

He’s right about one thing, Ferox. His men are still roaming around and you need to get to a place where you can plan your next move. You rack your brain until the scent of laundry and dye reminds you that you’re close to the Dye Pavillion.

The scent of laundry and dye let’s you know that you’re close to the Dye Pavillion. If Ziri or kheli was still there, you might be able to get some answers.

When choosing to hide the crime of the noble that got got, after choosing the make it look like an animal attack, the bury scene plays after the fake mauling.
