I just found out about this amazing game. One of my favourite things I loved is how you can make the MC be a real ruthless and hardheaded badass that gets things done with a real “My way or the highway” mindset. It’s a funny pet peeve but some WIPs and games tend to force the MC to be a bit of a pushover or wet cat for the sake of the plot even with max stats. Also, my second favourite part of the game: Queen Sarai.
Let’s just hope Aretas is not too mad about any future siblings, lol.

“No, I don’t like that,” Sefu says.
“Sefu,” Tamu gives him a warning look but Sefu is already shaking his head.
“No, he’s strange! Where is he even from?! He poofs out of nowhere and Asfia is a child!”
“Galen is also a child,” Merikh says with a shrug. “I’m actually glad to see him with kids his own age. It’s not right for him to just be surrounded by soldiers all day,”
“A child?! What numbers are you using? He’s almost as tall as me! You! How old are you?”
Galen looks at Asfia and she does a terrible job of whispering to him.
“Show how old you are on your fingers, like this,” Asfia whispers as she holds up both hands to show that she’s ten.
Galen nods and holds up ten fingers before lowering one.
“Nine? Are you shitting me? This man is not nine!”
“Alright kids, let’s go eat,” Yusra says and leads both Asfia and Galen away.

I’ve been around for this WIP for a long time, and it always amazes me!! The brain rot of these guys is so so bad, I love them <333 Had a quick question regarding the demo - at what point is it supposed to end? Mine ends after Diomedes has his ‘chess’ conversation with MC; I’m fairly certain that’s an older demo build unless I’ve gotten confused jhgjkfhgjfhg any help would be appreciated (it ends here on both the cogdemos site and the Itch.io page, for clarity)
EDIT - Pretty sure that’s where the public demo ends after some digging, I think the update date confused me a bit lol

Playing through the demo again, but I just had to tell you that nothing hits me more than your opening scene with all the precious little babies keeping warm through the nights in a fricken cave of all places

A new update has dropped. I don’t know if your saves were preserved, but I’d recommend going back anyway because I’ve made some changes to the scene where you receive your horse!

Hey on COG demos it is still ending with the chess game for me too. I tried refreshing and was on an entirely new save, but still isn’t progressing.

Same! Coding these games must be so difficult, esp when something triggers an infinite load screen vs a clearly defined error message and code.
Edit: an error code now pops up on the cogdemo
Honestly, I don’t know how they do it. Ive tried coding games like this before, it’s just so hard!

First off, I love, love the IF. (Very tempting to write everything in caps rn and show aggressive praise but shall refrain).
I love everything about the IF. I can sense the emotions from the text and lore? Let me tell you, I just want to eat it and consume and find out more jcbsjsvxdjsj.
The characters, LI or side character, I love, especially Gally and Asfia (yes, children are top fav sorry twins (~￣³￣)~). And, Heka, bro the man needs to be fed and the head monk can go die in a ditch.

Other than whatever happened, I cannot express in words (without doing caps, applying too emojis, or repeating words) how much I love the IF. As artists would say, it’s such a delicious dessert that I’d gobble up over and over and hope it never ends (even tho it will (╥﹏╥)).
Anyway, that was so much rambling my gosh ಥ‿ಥ, hope you’re doing well; getting enough sleep, drinking water, eating enough (don’t be like Heka cuz I might handfeed you if I must). Love you and this IF. Keep up the good work! <3

Yay! Another Heka lover, the seer kid is just so cute, innocent and adorable. Almost feels like a shame corrupting him with my mc, hopefully properly feeding the man will make up for it. Plus it really touches my mc as he knows what being hungry all the time is like, due to his own background.
Aww…while I am currently set on romancing Heka the only one who could make me reconsider that would be if the cute cat-loving twin was an ro too, yes, Tamu.
Also curious can Heka (learn to) do other magic than just the visions? I mean I understand the monks like to keep him weak and ignorant and likely wouldn’t have taught him, but could he learn to do more magic?
Very fortunate Heka is an ro, as my mc is not interested in people who want to kill and torture him (Sutek) or nobles (Aretas and Merikh) and while my mc is always curious and will be forced to look into house Seti now due to the queen mother I still hope mc can ditch the assumed title again in the end, whether mc actually is the last Seti in reality or not, wouldn’t matter all that much to mine.
In fact the current cosplay as a “noble” is unpleasant to my mc because he always remembers teachers’s old words that knowledge doesn’t care about social status and how my mc himself had once hoped to elevate himself through his knowledge and learning, instead of through an assumed and false title of “nobility”. Which makes the current role he plays almost feel like a betrayal of the ideals of his adopted home with teacher and Poldi.
