High School Revenge (WIP) (Chapter 4 OUT, +182k words, Nov 30, 2025)

Nah, you’re fine, I suppose my own text was misleading, lol. Was talking bout the two scenes, like you said, but I wrote it in a confusing sort of way.

You need to ask for support of Cecily’s friends, on top of those earlier conditions.

    *if (((Cecily >= 74) and (hd_cecily_support = 1)) or ((Cecily >= 70) and (hd_cecily_support = 2)))
//...
    *else
//...
"Wow, are you serious? This is so embarrassing. Well, my dear peasant, you can run back to your little farm or wherever the hell you're from, there's no way in hell I'd ever go to the dance with you."

You don’t need Michael’s (it just lowers the relationship requirement a bit) but if you’re trying to ask Cecily out in public with none of her friends supporting the MC, you’ll be shot down, no ifs and buts.

Okayyy, understood. Thanks again, you helped me a lot

Thanks as well I was able to pass it as well. That is one thing code-diving can help with.

Hopefully, there might be an achievement for this as well; one of the few times I actually like achievements is if it hints at content I might ahve missed.

It is a bit of a shame we can’t say give hazel $100, especially with how Connor is using her to get money for his sister’s bike…maybe include something like “this is for the next few people after me.”

Monthly Progress Update - Mar 2026

Hello! Back with another monthly progress update for Chapter 5!

Most of this month has been spent on the behind-the-scenes stuff that makes the game feel more alive, so bear with me… It sounds less exciting than it is.

The big one is Burt. If you’ve been using him as an ally to dig up info on your targets, he’s getting a serious upgrade in Chapter 5. There are now follow-up investigation reports that go a lot deeper than before. There’s less personality profiling and more actual secrets. And Burt himself has gotten a bit of a personality injection too, so those reports are going to be a lot more fun to read than they used to be. There’s also a brand new profile for a side character some of you might already be familiar with, which sheds some light on their connection to one of the targets. I’ll leave it at that.

I’m also laying the groundwork for an injury mechanic. I was thinking that doing dangerous things yourself instead of delegating to your allies might start having some real consequences for the MC going forward. Still in development, but the foundation is there.

On the hobby front, Chapter 5 is shaping up to have a lot more going on than previous chapters. Baseball players are getting a full bracket tournament that runs through the chapter and wraps up in Chapter 6, with weekly game events along the way. Swimming, on the other hand, is where I’d love your input. I’ve got a bigger “stardom” arc planned for it, and I’m torn between starting it this chapter or pushing it to Chapter 6 or later. Baseball is already getting a decent amount of content this chapter, and I don’t want swimmers to feel like they’re getting the short end of the stick. So genuinely, should I start the swimming arc in Chapter 5, or are you fine waiting a bit longer for it to kick off properly, considering baseball will also start losing unique content once winter starts?

Thanks for sticking around, see you soon!

I feel like pushing the swimming content back a bit might work a bit better – give it a few weeks of practice/conditioning work for the club members first, not exactly most flashy thing, but with impact on performance down the road depending on whether MC attends it (and for Cecily to take note of) Maybe an opportunity for MC to give Angela a hand in that regard…?

Having some interactions where you could either raise or lower his loyalty will certainly be interestin

I’m happy however you wish to go. I just hope one of the options we get to embarrass. And now I’m imagining the scene from Caddyshack where the pool was evacuated and Billy Murray was in a hazmat suit.

I like Angela as a character, arguably one of the most wholesome characters (though Lydia has it). So I figure this will make her an automatic target of Isaac at some point. I admit, I look forward to the point where we might be able to kick his ass.

I also expect if the player is going the business class route where they might be asked to speak in front of the club, especially with how they got their wealth. I could see Dylan pressuring the player for more social causes, and Vivian maybe asking for a backer.

I think it’s fine to wait until Chapter 6 for the swimming content

It’s nice to see this game paying homage to Carrie; the MC can create a fake account under the name of “Carrie” to deal with Burt. It will be interesting to see what kind of a person Burt is besides being a sick pervert.

And just a little suggestion: If the MC befriends/romances Marcus, perhaps he could help MC with a cover story if the targets begin to get suspicious. Perhaps a cover story like MC is Marcus’s friend/lover from another town/city coming over to help Marcus get revenge on them, or at least on Isaac. I’m really liking this Marcus guy.

Not gonna lie waiting for this game to marinate is like buying cake and just looking at it

@Sucof the post on Patreon where you ask for input on the last sneak peek has the comments only possible for paid subscribers so can’t reply there. But regarding other options for MC that could be there – if you wanted to push the “crazy prepared” angle, then one of options could be someone completely unrelated and hired in advance specifically to provide that alibi for MC. Similar to how you can hire the wanna-be actress for couple of performances.

I swear Isaac is a professional hater, he’s probably the type of bully who would bully you if you’re trans, but would beat up anyone who’s being transphobic.

Or would bully you if you’re a nerd, but would shove someones head into a toilet if they called you a nerd.

He’s legitimately a professional hater

Just finished the demo, insanely peak, love the writing. I do think it would be cool if there were additional reactions from the targets if the MC never changed their first name, like they just think of it as a coincidence (I know there’s the 14th most common name thing but think it would still be funny as a sort of in-plain-sight jab lol).

How are you guys managing to romance anyone? XD

Everyone just feels just so devoid of basic self awareness, that i feel no sympathy for most of them, even if they had some sad personal situation, or excuse

Like that Olivia conversation with Dylan

I’m just being nice to get close to as many of them as possible, so i can ruin their lives and properly pay them back in full in the end

PS. Not attacking anyone or anything of course XD

I like Olivia, and i have this pet theory that she was maybe crushing a bit on the MC in the past but her shyness thing held her back, and MC was too oblivious to it with only having eyes for their old crush instead, but after they’re back they see her with new eyes, so to speak. Enough for some attraction to develop.

Some other characters show you a glimpse of something decent under the fronts they put up. That might be enough for some to want to know them closer.

And the red flag chasers just gonna chase. /s

I get it, i personally just get to know them by being nice and friendly

No amount of attraction, or sad background allows them a pass for being complicit in that event for me atleast

Probably only Angela or someone for romance, i’d choose

Down with the clown for the rest, as pennywise says

Monthly Progress Update - Apr 2026

EDIT: Btw, happy 8 year anniversary since Chapter 1 dropped. :tada:

Hello, hello! Back with another, you guessed it, monthly progress update for Chapter 5!

It’s been a very productive month under the hood. A lot of systems getting reworked and new ones being built from scratch. The early demo is getting close, so here’s where things stand.

The funds mechanic has been completely reworked. It’s no longer just a number ticking down! There are now 3 different categories (Decent, Huge, and Unlimited*) depending on the career choice you made, each with their own implications and ways they can come back to bite you. Let’s just say mom is going to be a lot more involved in your financial life than she used to be.

On the hobby front, each one now has a “set” event running through the chapter that you can experience either as a participant or a spectator. Baseball’s got a tournament, swimming’s got tryouts and a scrimmage, music’s got a make-or-break gig for the band, drawing’s got a school mural with some very interesting potential for a certain creep, and finance ties more quietly into some ongoing character storylines. I built most of the groundwork, now I just need to write the actual events happening.

There’s also now a way for the MC to do Burt’s job themselves if you’d rather go solo! This is a big ones in my opinion. Though it’ll cost you weekly actions and take significantly longer based on some factors. Burt’s still the smarter option, but for the lone wolves out there, it’s now on the table. You have no idea how annoying it was to go through the Burt reports a 2nd time this chapter, but it’s fine, I just had to add a bunch of *ifs.

An injury mechanic is also in the works. To make things worse for the lone wolves mentioned earlier. Doing dangerous things yourself instead of delegating to your allies will start having real consequences going forward and showing up to school with a suspicious bruise the morning after the Creep was spotted in a fight is going to raise some eyebrows. I’ll give more details on this once I actually implement it properly.

I’ve also started on Dylan’s answers route, which is one of the bigger things I’ve been building toward. You won’t get the full picture just yet (that’s coming at the Halloween party) but Chapter 5 will give us all the answers to his inner demons.

And finally, the one I’m most excited about: if the Creep is back, Isaac isn’t just going to sit quietly. Of course, anyone who took him to homecoming will know he went a bit crazy at the end there. There’s now a full scene where he corners the MC in the cafeteria, in front of the whole school, and starts picking apart their identity piece by piece. And the MC will dig an even deeper hole for their new identity. There’s also a brand new variable tracking the Creep’s public reputation, and how the MC handles this very public grilling is one of the first things that will start moving that needle.

Thanks for reading all this, see you soon!

I considered this, but a part of what makes the mentor options fit is that they are somewhat popular, and at least one of the targets recognizes their names. Spoiler of what makes them work best based on what happens: There’s also a phone call with this “father” and the person that knows them recognizes the voice, giving the MC more credibility. Again, it could work, but I feel like it needs to probably be an established character.

Also, not sure why you can’t comment, the post I think was free, which means anyone with a Patreon account should be able to comment. Maybe you had to follow first?

This is mentioned by Isaac in the scene I just mentioned. He even mentions it’s a popular name, but still haha

Give some of them a chance, they might surprise you next chapter :eyes:

I mean, i feel like the target recognizing the supposed father is kinda red herring, because as long as MC says that their father is Random Doofus and Random Doofus when called confirms that “Yes, that’s my son/daughter, what is this about?” then the fact that no one recognizes or knows that person is… nothing? Most students in the school don’t know parents of most other students unless they’re close friends who hang out at one another’s home or something. So MC really doesn’t need to go any extra mile here, they could even point out that Isaac is making paranoid idiot out of himself if he tries to insist that the person who just confirmed is your dad isn’t actually your dad.

I think it was some Patreon hiccup or something, no clue. I’ve opened the page now just to check and when before it’d give me some error about having to upgrade to post comments, it’s now not doing that.
