Is this your first time at these forums or reading an IF, or something? There’s a rabid group of players who charge specifically at red flag ROs like they’re bulls. This is like catnip to them.
edit: wait, considering you aren’t even complaining about the game itself but the description of it in the OP. Eh, whatever. That’s not even judging the book by the cover, but by the back cover blurb.
Hi, minority here, on multiple levels. You have an understanding of racism and combatting it that is about the depth of a puddle. “Stereotypical” descriptions, behaviors and so forth existing in of itself is not the issue per se because these are a part of real people’s lived experiences too. The issue exists on the macro scale which cannot and should not be the responsibility of random individual authors to address by their lonesome overnight without stumble, but even if it were, you have to read the fucking game to know how it’s executed and whether they actually fit the stereotype or not let alone whether it’s “problematic” or whatever else you’d like to call it, which you did not.
Your earlier characterizations of how the ROs are talked about are off too, but I won’t dive into that can of worms since that essentially boils down to opinion. Though I will give one easy example: the Asian boy was a nerd. He clearly is not anymore. In fact, he’s a popular influencer. Yet you fail to mention that. Weird.
Probably because you as you said don’t care. Because you’re just here to shit stir. And by the way, sweepingly calling “western people” racist is a prejudice, genius. Criticize the descriptions all you want, but you’re being both dramatic and rude and you know it. Shelve the culture war nonsense attitude.
I don’t want to start a argument with you but I just have to say if you don’t care that much why even write these responses. You could have just write the original one and be done with. You’re not even talking about the story or anything just the character’s appearances. Either way this was all for not and I hope you have a great day and just find other story’s that you like.
I protected my boy Sucof’s honor thats it. This is a re-edit of my previous remarks. I still believe in my previous statements but I should not have stick my name in the mud for any counters. Oh-dear any readers who read this please look at me as a sacrifice as not to fall for rage bait. My deepest apologies to everyone.
Which was your favorite date? Mine was Hailey (Perfect choice by far, hands down), then Angela (Her Dad was AWESOME!), and Cicily Knight (interesting to see her crack and tell her secrets). Organized from best to least
OK, I played the demo. Of course with just one play sure there is a million things I haven’t seen, but it’s good. Intriguing, with a lot of branches, and fun.
I tried to be a dark and uncompassionate character. Well, that’s what I initially tried, at least. The truth is, even if it’s clear that the big majority of the group are a bunch of assholes, there are glimpses of their weaknesses that make me think at least a good part of them are really some miserable kids pretending to be more than they really are. The revenge starts and my character can’t help but feel bad about it. And I really love that you can have those kind of doubts, the same way Dantés becomes more doubtful and guilt ridden as his revenge goes on in The Count of Monte Cristo.
I really like the way this is going. Keep up the good work!
Some combative/unconstructive posts have been hidden; just a general mod reminder to flag posts rather than jumping in - it can help avoid a derailing kerfuffle. Thanks!

It’s the beginning of the year, so I’m trying to lie low for now (present for Isaac and haunting of Dylan and Olivia aside), even be helpful to the baseball team and the Roosters (though my real talent is finance). Angela is still adorable, as was the homecoming date with her, now that I actually used the time to talk to her and build her confidence instead of stopping Isaac’s ‘prank’. And it seems Edmond actually cares about her (at least cares enough not to use romance to manipulate her, even though he’s maybe kinda sorta catching feelings).
Seeing these stats that were posted, I keep getting amazed by how many people have apparently no preservation instinct whatsoever, just revealing themselves to their helpers and especially Burt.
Y’all deserve Isaac figuring your MC out in two months tops and just making another display out of you, smh.
I don’t think they’d do it willingly, but they’re clearly excitable idiots who can easily let things slip without them meaning to. In fact, telling them has immediate effect on the discovery meters, which i think is suppsed to reflect exactly this:
#I'll tell her about the Tragedy. She needs to know she can trust me.
*set angela_knows 2
*set Angela + 10
*set angela_ally 1
*set oliviameter + 5
*set isaacmeter + 5
//...
#I'll tell him about the Tragedy. He needs to know we're on the same side.
*set marcus_knows 1
*set Marcus + 10
*set marcus_ally 1
*set oliviameter +5
*set isaacmeter +5
I can only imagine it’s not the only time this is ever going to bite you in the ass.
I disagree on Angela and Marcus. I don’t think either of them would willingly tell MC’s secret or otherwise reveal it.
Telling Burt, on the other hand, is asking for a bad end. I wonder when MC can cut that particular loose end. In all but one playthrough, I don’t use him.
I actually made sure to keep myself hidden from Burt. Though I didn’t change my hair colour or eye nor gender, which made it slightly easy for Olivia to recognise me. I’m sure pretty soon, Isaac is gonna find out. lol
Making it easy for them huh lol nice meanwhile I changed literally everything about my main mc except the eye color. Might start a second mc and not change anything just to see how long it takes for the traitors to take notice though cuz that legit sounds fun.

I have played through another playthrough, this time playing as somebody dead set on revenge and not at all sympathetic to the targets. The character voice of the main character was consistent throughout the route, which was great to read and adds a lot to the story’s quality. I love that the main character can be fully unrepentant in their quest for vengeance. However, I came across what I assume is a bug. Cecily was my date, and I did four subtle plans (Cecily, Haley, Vivian, and Olivia speech) which let people know the creep was back. But after homecoming ended, the scene was of the police interviewing Cecily and talking as if I had done the grandiose plan despite not doing it. Also, I’m happy to see that my suggestions for the homecoming exploration phase and planning were implemented they really helped when playing.
Yeah, if Cecily is the date then in the “creep aftermath” branch the game doesn’t check if the MC did the big plan, but the mention of the police is hardcoded. Most likely a bug like you say.
Same applies for Isaac for this matter, his date also has hardcoded bit about questioning from the police etc.

I made an effort of trying to make everyone like me. I took a very long time trying to get the best outcome I can do. In order for me to get my stats it took me at least 5 days and looking at Code. I really love this can’t wait for more.
My character is Quentin Carlisle who wants to get revenge on everyone but its a slow process of not letting people know that the CREEP is back. I tried everyone’s romance path and me personally I like Cecily a lot. I just like the tsundere.
