I can’t blame them, I feel the same It would be a nice mount though
Maybe, although if I did, they would have to be balanced with the others. We’ll see.
Seems like a nice fit. It would be a later level development, but maybe.
Is this going to be a standalone or another series? Sorry if it is already stated.
Limit the fabulousness of the unicorn only to females?
You monster.
I’m a masachist. I never play as a female mc. Lol. I’m just a sucker for traditional myths
I always play as a male also. I think there should always be an option to be either gender though. Like all good rpgs Bit upset that the new lords game is gender locked tbh
Lucid always makes the story good for either gender though. A good writer doesn’t let things like that take away from the story
Can’t wait! This will be cool.
While this game sounds amazing on paper, in practice, I feel like its a tad too ambitious for its breeches. You can’t write something this complex without a few compromises and that alone can diminish the overall quality of the product… things like little to no choices, little consequence, not enough replayability, shallow NPCs and/or story, etc. I guess what I mean is that I’m skeptical.
In my limited experience, the majority of developers that shoot for the stars end up sooner rather than later realizing the error of their ways - too much work and promises they can’t keep up with, huge amounts of stress, frustration, running out of inspiration/patience, running out of money/resources and, eventually, just giving up on it altogether.
I really want this project to come to fruition but I’ve seen people struggle with much smaller projects and just outright abandoning them… will this one be any different? Are you even capable of delivering all of which you promise while retaining some quality in your work? Or is this just an attempt to see how far you can go?
He has successfully published several works - three of which comprise something like this project but not as wide. I do believe @Lucid can execute this project successfully
That is good to hear. I’m sorry for being so pessimistic about it but part of its because this is exactly the kind of game I like and it hurts to see it fail or getting abandoned before it even had a chance to become something… it wouldn’t be the first time it happens.
I can’t blame you for being pessimistic. It’s a natural reaction when you see a game this ambitious.
But, come on. This isn’t some newbie author. This is Lucid. I have faith in the man.
If you read the Lost Heir series, you know Daria and you’ve experienced @Lucid’s works before. I have no doubt that he will challenge himself -whatever happens, I’m certain he will write a decent story-game, one way or another.
I’m really excited for this! Especially for the Cleric class - it’s rare to be able to play a Healer in CoGs and those are actually my favourites.
Do you plan to make the romance/marriage/child things vague like for example in Life of a Wizard or go more into detail? I’m a strong supporter of the latter, but it’s your choice and I’m curious!
It’s stand alone, but a part of the same world, so we’ll see some familiar things.
This is very understandable. There have been a few failed attempts at a game like this from other authors. The thing is, that list of features on the front page? It already works. I got that part running, so I know that this is more than possible.
Execution of it is still interesting and will no doubt need some tweaking yet. But, I must finish Last Wizard first!
@AAO too Thanks! It’s true. I do have a good track record for completing things. This one will finish too.
It was because of the complex nature of such a game that I started coding it, in order to see if it could be done. It can!
In 3 months, once Last Wizard is done, I’ll return to it and get a WIP up too, so people can see how it comes together. It’ll take most of a year after that in order to get all if the content into the game.
It will be less vague than Life of a Wizard, but not as descriptive as Lost Heir. It will depend on how all encompassing I want it to be. If we want 50 ROs, it will need to be vague with some small flavoring for each. I suspect that this will be the route.
I’d prefer a handful of more fleshed out RO’s rather than an army of almost identical ones.
Wouldn’t be better then to have less RO and not description?
I guess it depends on what your idea of low detail is. Individual quests, stories, wants and needs should all still be possible. Marriage, houses and children too.
I think I can give more description than Skyrim, so how’s that?
honestly, that’s pretty close to my definition of high detail
So if you could put in your definition of high detail, then I’d be a happy boy.
I think less than LH will be a regress, so it is better to have less RO (like 4 or 5) than less description IMO.
