My guen never met Mordred so I’m not sure how much of a problem he’ll be for her and Morgana

I want to romance Mordred so bad… but I’m worried we’ll be too old for him in the future? (When he tries to take over the throne)

If I have the math right, Mordred will be 19 in Book VI, 24 years younger than the 43-year-old Guenevere.

Right now, I think the only Guen I have who’d romance (or “romance”) Mordred is Guenevere Lannister. She’ll be siding with Mordred in Book VI, mainly because he’d be a useful ally in finally ridding her of Arthur. Though she may very well not disagree with him about his plans for Britain, Guenevere Lannister has no intention of sharing power with Mordred. She’ll seduce him and manipulate him into falling in love with her before she stabs him in the back.

If my Gwen has accumulated enough power by the point of that dreaded “liaison”, she might just fake forgive them and never speak to them again while hoarding more power.

Actually I’ll prefer a Gwen in a relation with Mordred. As a RO Mordred represents a lot of possibilities.

Are… are you people serious? Arthur and Morgana… they slept together? And they produced an imbred?!

They’ll die! They’ll all die for this! Arthur and his twisted little imbred family will die for this! And that boy, Mordred, is Authur’s firstborn son, assuming Morgan’s other children are not also Arthur’s! He is the true heir to the throne! As long as that boy lives, he stands as a threat to everything that I have built, and will stand as a constant challenge to any heirs that I have! To secure my own children’s claims, he has to die! He has to die!

I am truly aghast. I never would have ever suspected Arthur would ever do that. I never thought he would so completely betray his own wife. And I made an effort with him too. I really did. I made every effort to build a stable, happy marriage with him. To make him happy. That is what I am like, after all. The arranged marriage would have ended badly, with me marrying some horrible, hairy, middle aged-- shudders

And he lied to me. He lied to my face. He sat there beside me on our wedding night and told me he never had been with anyone else. He did so without even flinching, like it was second nature. I never would have ever suspected… not even for a moment. Seems like I had been completely taken in by him. He seemed so good, so honorable. And then he does that. That dastard.

Ah, but my Guen never did find anything about Arthur and Morgana. Is that something you can find out in a playthrough of the first two books? Until Guen finds out, she would continue to be the attentive and loving, if power-grabbing, wife for him. But once she finds out…

Whoever would tell me would see me turn catatonic. They would be able to see the light behind my eyes die away completely at this revelation, and see it filled by a darkness that would make even the devil cower in fear. All the love and hope and admiration I had for my King would die in that one moment, replaced by a darkness that only Lancelot might be able to break through. And should I be able to confront Arthur over this, oh boy, it would be explosive. I would hold nothing back, and I would be disgusted with the sight of him forevermore.

And after that moment, all I would care about is assuming absolute power in the Kingdom, and overthrowing Arthur ultimately. I wonder if Lancelot would even side with me when it all the drama started. He swore himself to me, and to me only, so I am fairly certain that he would. Perhaps, if Arthur resists and tries to take back power by force, that Lancelot would fight for me as my champion. I am a sorceress, and I cannot fight someone like Arthur myself. Perhaps Lancelot would even kill Arthur for me, but that would be a push, I expect.

As for Morgana, I will try to keep her on my good side, make her think she actually has a sister in me. But the moment I assume power, all that changes. Morgana would be dragged before the Court and beheaded right there and then, and so would that imbred child of hers. Then, once that is done, my position would finally be secure, and I would be free to marry Lancelot and start my own royal family with him.

I half expect that I would have fallen pregnant to him, after I slept with him after his daring rescue of me in book 2. Funny, wouldn’t it be? I previously slept with Arthur every moment to try to produce a child, all failing, but the one time I made love with Lancelot, a child comes of it. I can just see it happening. I wonder if that is why Morgana didn’t seem enthused with the idea of me having a child with Arthur. Perhaps she is even using magic to sabotage our attempts, or perhaps Arthur is doing it. Perhaps they are working together to that end. Perhaps Arthur wants Mordred to be the next King.

Ah, anyway, I think that is enough of the rant. This certainly is a good series of books, and I am glad that I found it. I eagerly await further updates. Great work, @jeantown. I have greatly enjoyed this so far.

I mean…damn, props to you for not having been spoiled on a seven hundred year old legend, lol.

They were under a spell or something when they had sex though…But that’s a good point. I haven’t played the ypfor a while, but if Arthur does says he hasn’t been with anyone previously…Well I can understand why he’d lie, but I wonder since he was under a spell if he remembers having sex with Morgana? How much he knows about his son…

oh, you sweet dear thing, you think they didn’t know who the other was when Mordred was conceived.

well

do i have some terrible news for you:

Wait, Arthur and Morgana are going to have sex?

Yes. One time. It’s more or less Arthurian canon. They won’t be happy about it. In fact, they’ll both be thoroughly traumatized.

Actually, no. I never read about the legend of King Arthur. Not completely, at least. I have a cursory knowledge of the legend at best, and know the basics. I cannot say if even the King Arthur of these books, as well as the other characters, mirror those of legend.

That hardly makes a difference. If it is the same magic inflicting Lancelot, then it merely amplified any feelings that would already be there, as I understand it. There must have been a part of Arthur that wanted it, otherwise it would never have been. Lancelot can resist it if your relationship with him isn’t high enough. Arthur would be able to as well.

Nope. The author said that Arthur and Morgana are traumatized after sleeping together, so NEITHER of them wanted it. You can’t compare Lancelot’s spell with some other magic we don’t know anything about. But Morgana is not attracted to men, so to her half-brother even less. And Arthur didn’t force her physically, so it’s the magic what forced BOTH of them to do it.

In my opinion what happened to them was no different than rape. They were basically forced by someone else into having sex with each other. I can understand it being incredibly traumatizing for both of them especially for Morgana since she doesn’t even like men. I feel when your blaming them your blaming the victim instead of who ever forced them.

Of course they would be traumatised. They just slept with their sibling. Something as seriously taboo as incest would mess with anyone’s head, whether it was voluntary or otherwise. If they are sane, that is.

And it would be hard to believe that Morgana was bewitched by a spell that forced her, a powerful sorceress in her own right, to sleep with her own brother. My Guen wouldn’t quite believe that tale, even if we (the players) know it to be true. She might even accuse Morgana of bewitching Arthur with the intention of securing an heir to later pull a coup. Only when evidence, conclusive evidence, is found to prove that both Arthur and Morgana were forced to sleep together would my Guen’s anger be abated.

Even then, there is still the question of the succession, which Arthur needs to deal with. If Arthur dies, his dream dies with him, and we need to continue the royal line should that happen.

@Kirlett, @Regularcheese: Actually, Morgana is bisexual; @jeantown once said she’s, like, 85% attracted to women and 15% attracted to men. I believe we’ll even have the option to hook Morgana up with Lancelot at some point.

@GenericGem: Assuming you’re not just talking from your Guen’s POV, no, Arthur and Morgana have not been carrying on an incestuous affair behind everyone’s backs. On a related note, while I agree with @Regularcheese that it’s not fair to blame either Morgana or Arthur for Mordred’s conception, it would be in-character for some Guens to blame either or both of them. Like your Guen, my Traditional Guen would (eventually?) suspect that Morgana bewitched Arthur to conceive Mordred and plots to put her unborn child on the throne. Of course, Traditional Guen will be having Lancelot’s child, who is no more legitimate than Mordred; yes, Traditional Guen can be pretty hypocritical.

Great so someone is trying to force guen to bang Lancelot and Morgana to bang Arthur. My poor Morgana. She’s going to need a lot of cuddles from Guen after that.

I’m going to assume magic isn’t involved just alcohol and Guen Arthur and Morgana making incredibly poor life choices.

I wonder if Mordred has to be evil he’s practically going to have two mom’s with how much I’m going to be doting on Morgana.

worry not! we can make many double of our guen and kill everyone
