Guenevere (WIP)

I bumped your DragonAge topic, so people feel free to speak DragonAge stuff over there.

@MaraJade Aww, Mara I love Carver. He’s so pissy and it makes me lol. If he becomes a templar, his character arc is SO good.

And I love being evil, too. I’ve played DA like 15 times, and I’ve only been a good guy in… probably only 3 playthroughs, haha. I just prefer being morally gray.

Oh oops.

This game was amazing thank you so much for making this I have been hoping someone would make this and you did so much justice by it. I will be getting all of these great job

Thanks, @valkycam and @ret922!

Do you have any idea how long each nook should take? Looking forward to it no matter how long it takes

Book not nook

@ret922  Good, cause I have no idea how long it would take to make a nook… It took me a more than a year to write part 1. I think/hope the next parts will go faster, for several reasons, but if I’m honest, my best guess is that each one will probably still take a year. (I have a really demanding day job.) I’ll post updates here to let people know how things are progressing, and I will do everything I can to make them worth waiting for!

If they’re anything like the first they will be with it

thanks!

Oh and how can I find your new Arcana books?

@ret922 —> link! :slight_smile:

ok that was weird; my post with the link went up twice. Uh, just disregard this one… nothing to see here… :-"

Nice. Its unlike other books. Must read one day.

Damn if I didn’t see Marajade and Zev together before now. You have good taste. The Alistair FANGIRLS don’t know what they’re missing

I’m definitely picking up your book jeantown. I don’t have a kindle, but I’ll get the app or summat. The description sounds awesome. There really aren’t enough fantasy books out there with satirical humour in them. I want to read an epic fantasy story, but even more, I want to laugh while I’m doing so. They sound like a lot of fun! I hope there’s some romance in there too!

I’ve played this game for what had to be the fifth time and I’m still not tired of it. Your writing is great! I love the balance of detail and story! I love how you don’t make Guen completely helpless, and made her able to be a strong yet still feminine character. I’ve seen so many things never able to find that balance. =D Makes me excited to see how she as a cheracter and the rest of them develop in the context of the events of your story.

I love there is a option to play a Guen that is loyal and even love Arthur. Sure he can be a bit of a naive ditz, but it’s endearing, let alone how he is genuin sweet and cares. I’ve tried all play throughs so far, and the relationship I"m most excited to see develop is Guen and Arthur’s. Guen and Lance come in a close second though. But Arthur’s adorkable-ness has grown on me. =D

I’m excited to see what you do with this!

Oh, thanks @Scrivener and @RedReaper! I think you can download a kindle app on just about anything with a screen these days. I’d say NA is probably more ironic than satirical, mostly because the characters themselves are supposed to seem like real people who just happen to live in a world full of weirdly mashed-up rpg tropes. There is some romance – well, early on it’s more unresolved sexual tension than actual romance, but relationships (romantic and otherwise) are a central focus of the whole series. And if I ever manage to finish the whole thing as planned, it should be pretty epic.

And thank you, @AngelOfTheBroken! I’m glad you liked it! It’s important to me to show that a female character can be awesome without having to abandon traditionally feminine qualities… I love it when women appropriate traditionally masculine roles and activities, if that’s where they find fulfillment, but I hope I never disparage women who want to wear pretty dresses or be stay-at-home moms – or wear pretty dresses and be engineers, or wear combat boots and be stay-at-home moms – the important thing, to me, is having the freedom to choose. So even though it’s anachronistic (who cares; this is fantasy), I’m trying to give Guen some of that freedom to choose.

I’m excited about possible progressions of the Guen/Arthur relationship. It should be a little different depending on if she’s truly faithful to him, or gets involved with someone else but still cares about her relationship with him. I’m going to try hard to get all of those nuances in there, so that you can continue to enjoy the replays!

@jeantown I think you’re achieving your goals re the balance between traditional feminine qualities and masculinity. It’s refreshing for an otome style game to have a strong MC (offhand the only other strong female from an otome I can think is from Voltage USA’s Speakeasy Tonight, who is quite unapologetic)

So far my favorite pairing is Morgana and Gwen. She’s not pushy or looking for anything but if Gwen pursues her she’s receptive. The vibe I’m getting from the Lancelot variable is some sort of magical influence. Whether soulmate, Merlin, an outside force or an enemy of Arthur or Gwen, it seems a little unnatural or fishy to me. Just some speculating nothing to see here folks.
