Really intrigued! I like the characters and have had fun playing through the demo. I’ve already done multiple playthroughs just to learn more about the characters, looking forward to future updates. Thanks for sharing this!

TWC did inspire me to write my own interactive fiction novel.
Though, I do want Golden to be its own. When first starting out, I got many comparisons to TWC and many of them were rude and belittling comparisons. So even though TWC is one of the stories that helped inspire my writing journey, I’d appreciate it if people held off of comparing my story and characters to TWC (I’m not saying that you are comparing Golden to TWC, this is just a note in general).

That’s so wrong. Why are people so petty and feel like they have the right to put people down. My opinion @milaswriting don’t listen to them and keep up the good work. I’m loving this and so are so many others. Listen to your fans and not the naysayers.

I really like how this story is unfolding and the characters are interesting. I like the customization too, I’m really intrigued about the birthmark. I’m split between Blaze and Phoenix too so I’m excited to romance both

Glad you’re enjoying the story so far! The customisation was really important for me, especially in this interactive fiction game so I’m glad you like that aspect of it so far — I’m hoping to add more customisation for the MC throughout the series.
Aha, at least there are save slots for the demo and eventually will be when the full game is released; so you can always create an MC for B and P.

Please in the future refrain from comparing someone’s original story with that of Wayhaven. Even if you are intending it as praise, it is a way to devalue someone’s story that is separate and entirely their own. It is also quite frustrating for the author to hear especially when it is often repeated. That said, I’m eagerly looking forward to future updates!

I like Kaden he seems the most interesting, most of my characters are like happy and kind of cheerful but for some reason I am drawn to the kind of flirty, more standoffish kind of ROs, at first I didn’t think it would work at all but my characters usual manage to break their shell

Golden Progress Update - 8th September 2021
It’s 1:30am so I’m definitely going to bed after posting this, aha.
I said I would post mini progress updates throughout chapter 6 as it’s going to be a big chapter.
I’ve started the 3rd part of chapter 6 and that’s the main part of the chapter in terms of your MC interacting with the team; you’ll interact with all the members of the team no matter what.
I just finished K’s scene! I had so much fun writing it, there’s a lot of variation with this scene and a whole lot of words! I knew there would be a lot, but I didn’t think it would be so much.
I think this scene with K will be surprising. You get to have a somewhat deep chat with K, about themselves, about your MC; you have the opportunity to see K be a little more vulnerable (if that’s the right word to use) — and probably a little insecure and guilty too (the latter depends on your choices). You get to see them a little less confident, they’re a little humorous too, and there’s a lot of flirting if that’s what you want — whether that’s bold or shy flirting.
There’s a particular choice at the end of K’s scene that I’m excited about too because I haven’t seen it used often for the MC in interactive fiction, and it’s one that will stay with your MC throughout the series — I’m intrigued to see everyone’s opinion on that. There’s no wrong or right choice to make either, so it’s completely what you’re comfortable with.

I’m getting very excited (but also nervous because… imposter syndrome and worries that people won’t like what I’ve written) about this next demo update.
There’s still a lot of writing to go, but it’s all going very smoothly. So, all good.

I hope it’s intriguing! It’s a rather simple choice but it is more customisation for your MC. The dialogue with K when making this choice is rather fun to read, too.

You’re right.
All the RO scenes in chapter 6 are mandatory, so you have the opportunity to speak to all of them — whether that’s to befriend, flirt with them or just have a casual chat with them; that’s up to you.

I really like the pacing so far, as well as the plethora of choices which are available, especially in terms of clothing. I can see you got good taste : )
Anyway, I’m really fond of your writing and cannot wait to find out what happens next ! Anyway, until then, there’s plenty of things for me to try out in this demo and I’m definitely going to have to read it through more than once.
