If I have to make a guess, Gossa probably pulled a Pik Van Cleef on poor Coran, or whatever that kid’s name is. Excuse my spelling.
And i think the very disturbing and scary Fiance moments
Which one of these stories do you like more? Plotting out my next book after WoH. Only light outlining of the plot to avoid problems in the future. WoH is my main priority.
Will only start on the next story once WoH is done.
Placeholder names for now.
The Forgotten Immortal
(Only three ROs)
You were once a powerful vampire king/queen ruling over an ancient and large city-state full of humans. A god/goddess among mortals, until you were betrayed by those you trusted.
Not able to destroy you, they locked you up in the abyss of darkness for thousands of years.
Now you wake up, full of lost hunger and rage, only to find yourself in a strange world different from what you once knew. A world where humans control it. (Current world)
Outbreak: Fall of a city
A Zombie game inspired by the walking dead.
The world you knew is no more. The dead arise after death, and they hunger for flesh.
You and your family must try to flee the city before the military bombarded it to ashes.
Without Home (The same world as WoH.)
Only three ROs.
You were supposed to be dead with the rest of your family, but fate had another plan stored for you.
It was only due to a mercenary captain who your father hired in his wars that you survived the fall of your city.
You spent years with the company, learning their ways of war and honing your skills until you rose and became the captain’s second in command and one of the best fighters in the Far East.
Your captain received a new contract that will change your life forever.
- The Forgotten Immortal
- Outbreak: Fall of a city
- Without Home
Broken Pact is already fully outlined. I forgot to add it to the poll.
Hope to do all of them eventually.
Yes.
Can you elaborate more on this if you have the time? (You don’t have to)
Without Home
The Forgotten Immortal all so looks interesting.
It’s all super cool I chose Without a home but I want to play all of them
Why not Broken pact? @Fat_cat
Thanks for answering. I chose broken pact
Outbreak: The Forgotten Immortal Without Home
I chose broken pact
I’m torn, all three sound interesting, but I think that the zombie one has the issue of becoming a pitfall. It can become to tropey (if that makes sense). The Forgotten immortal one also sounds interesting, but i’m unsure of my personal interest. Personally my vote is for Without Home as it would be a same universe story and it would allow the reader to feel more personal about the world given it’s within the same universe.
Elaboration
Yeah, So…I don’t want to say this game does this bad or anything. But usually when it comes to zombie media, it usually breaks down to three main stages. 1) Getting the group together. 2) Some outside threat appears beyond the obvious zombies (Usually other survivors, that are “morally bad”) 3) Some person within the groups challenges the social norms due to the arrival and intervention of outside threat. That person usually ends up either A. getting people killed because of his influence or B. dying because of idiocy and never gets brought up again or C. gets killed by the group because they reject their viewpoint. While I don’t think it’s bad that this is used as it is a good way to set up conflict, usually the outcome becomes that the group changes anyway and the person who brought up the initial question of morally changing is still cast as a “Bad” person. In example of the show the walking dead. Shane is the only one of the group who understands the morals of the previous society no longer hold true, and is challenged every time it gets brought up and he says that the group needs to change to live, and then when he dies due to the confrontation between him and Rick. The group ultimately changes their morality anyway towards what he was advocating for.
If we have to say what we prefer in addition to vote, I preferer ‘Forgotten Immortal’, from the description it has the most interesting and unique concept (it remind me of Castlevania Lord of Shadows 2) while Outbreak doesn’t seem any different from any other zombie story and Without Home also sound similar to a bunch of other WiP I tried.
For me the answer was clear expanding the universe of FTE with Without a home is kinda the best you could do mate, the other ideas have merit but as a reader that enjoys Historical fiction/Medieval based plots, you got me easy and you got me fast.
Though a zombie fantasy if pulled of can be compelling, see Zombie Exodus digged that series of Hosted Games like nothing, the different backgrounds and the customisation were truly the aspects that called me towards the novels, being a teen to a middle aged man like so many variables were at play as well as disadvantages you could pick.
Without that apparel guess it would be a little more difficult to gain my attention and yeah the one I see as far too much fantasy is the first one The Forgotten inmortal it even brings me back to that funny fic “My inmortal”.
But yeah vampires and stuff, not my thing mate.
Still very happy that War of Heirs is still and will be your priority till completion, learnt that lesson as a writer and I am happy for you, keeping the focusing and being constant is what makes a content creator truly great.
Edit:
Also I feel there is a need to do a little callback to Wars of Eren, that was the first novel I knew cat for so really bringing it back for nostalgia and so one day gets back to reworking:
Eren
Yeah, I will only use some of my free time to outline the next book, but in no way will I start another project unless I finish the current one.
What do you think about Broken Pact?
This brings me back!
I hope to return to it one day. I feel that I’m now ready for it.
It seems like a smaller tale as far as the little resume up there tells me but exploring the transition towards adulthood on a Medieval setting will always be enticing to me, the burden of responsibility, the expectations of your family and that brand new intimate relationship that has just landed into your daily living.
The LI cast seems ambitious too with the option of not being a totally committed husband and the political fallout of a broken alliance and the geopolitical consequences could carve very distinct developments indeed.
Feeling here that the success or failure of the plot will depend more than ever on the worldbuilding and main players if we do not feel that tension or struggle on the intrigue and courtly sections then the game would betray itself.
The project seems worthy of investment so on paper no real problems with it, just sweet ol speculation
Ah Wars of Eren! Very beatifull game. I remember it’s second game of cat not first.
You must return it.
Broken Pact interests me. Since it’s also an option, maybe you should make a new poll and add it
My choice is definitely The Forgotten Immortal, but I can’t understand is the vampire the ex ruler of one of those city-states in the far east in WOH world or is it in its own universe. If its in the WOH world then I would love the dynamic of being a high-magical creature in a low-magic world where magic is seen as some triviality and the days where magicians destroyed whole kingdoms are considered as fairytales. It will also be interesting how the magical world would react about it and this whole close-up of the magical side of this world would be interesting. Even if it’s in own universe I would still like it because I suppose it will have this early bronze age aesthetic which I love.
