Fool! — Jest your way from obscurity to royal acclaim!

So i just started it and i really like it but i have a Question:

I concentrated on Repertoir but when my part of the first show for the baron came.
I didnt know what to choose. I don’t think any of the options were for a song/poem or such.
What is the Repertoir option there? Or is there none?

I’m not sure about that particular choice, but you should be aware that one of the fun challenges of playing a Choice of Games title is that you won’t always have an option for your best stat! Otherwise you’d always win and the game would get boring very fast

Well yes but that one felt like it wouldnt make sense not to do what i am best in since its a planned show ^^’

Sure, I get that. I’m saying that structurally, it’s not always going to be possible.

hmmm okay :v

Repertoire is the last option I believe (the sketching/painting one) and it will increase your knavery

omg okay i think i found it xDx

If you choose to Juggle then it says that “The audience greatly appreciates your REPERTOIR of tricks…”
wouldnt have guessed that Repertoir also means juggling xD oh well

I played it on Steam, in case that matters. It was great fun until I encountered a series of pretty much game breaking bugs: After my visit for the crown to the village that had been raided, the story suddenly skipped to Act IV. Now the king is dead (which I knew nothing about) and I’m searching for the heir? Then it skips another few chapters and I’m suddenly helping the new monarch to prepare for some diplomatic mission. By that point my storyline was a complete mess and I had no idea what was happening anymore. Needless to say it ruined the entire playthrough for me.

Please look into this!

Hi,

We would suggest sending the bugs and concerns to the game’s support email since most CoG staff don’t go to the forums to get bug reports on released title:

I really really cant seem to figure out how to romance the prince!
It started out as a slight liking to him and now I cant even read a sentence of this book without reminding myself of how many hours I’ve wasted trying to romance this guy!
(Help plz)

It is easier think in world I with a bile blood bold character with repertoire and body romance prince easily Just be bold and charming Be funny and if you spy for the noble go tell them and choices go by itself in fact i found that romance the easiest. Probably because that goes with my characters bold and bile lol

Overall this was a fun and charming game, that put a smile on my face several times (and it must have been a lot of work for the writer, coming up with all of those songs and poems as well as ordinary text). The only thing I found a bit lackluster was the romance - my character ran off with Hail, then persuaded them to go home, and after a single mention about having a secret affair…they just seemed to be forgotten for the entire rest of the game - but it’s not as if that was put forward as a main selling point.

It’s best not to focus all your efforts on a single skill - you should be able to build two to 60+ and one to 50+, which will see you through the majority of stat checks.

First of all, make sure your Conditioning is at least 50. The Prinxe appreciates a nice body over an interesting mind. Second, try to do a good job against the graverobbers so they don’t get wounded. Third, after their argument with the king, go to their rooms and agree to leave straight away (their opinion of you needs to be 50+ to get invited along). You should be able to start a romance after that. Later you’ll have the option of either running away to sea together, or persuading them to return to the palace - be aware that if you choose the first option, it will cut the game short and jump straight to the epilogue.

There is some romance and other stuff

This really is beautifully written. I’m extremely impressed, nay, humbled, by the quality of the prose.

It’s also trending at #1 on the Google play store, so congratulations are in order!

Ugh honestly such a bummer. I spent all the time with them I could and passed every check we had when we were together using wit and sagacity, I think my relationship was in the high 80s, and even then they were surprised by me having a crush on them and turned me down. It’s kinda sad that no matter how close you get to them, unless your physicality stat is high enough they won’t reciprocate. Don’t think I’ve come across that in any CoG game before. Normally romance is tied to whether or not the person likes you.

The rest of the game was amazing! It was really the only thing that let me down.

Many games do that of basic one skill or one personality i could recite five. Normally however that required skills are common so probably you didn’t notice. Have lots of sense that if you aren’t type of them they doesn’t fall in love as there is no sexual attraction. Friendship doesn’t mean I WANT bang YOU

That’s 100% a fair point, friendship doesn’t mean someone is obligated to date you. And irl I’m 100% cognizant of that fact. I would never complain about something like that. But this isn’t irl and I’ve just been spoiled by every other CoG I guess.

I guess it must’ve been very common traits if I’ve never come across this problem before in CoGs. I’ve been turned down by ROs in games for various reasons, but never while still managing to pass the events with the RO with flying colors. Would you mind giving me examples of where you meshed with a RO completely and passed EVERY event/skill check with them, you hold the same beliefs and goals, they’re attracted to your gender, and they still turned you down?

It’s not the end of the world but it was just jarring to me. I’ve played almost every CoG multiple times and this has never happened :woman_shrugging:

Official Cog first come of my mind is Tower behind the moon All romances have some requirements very nickpicky like one directly shut down because YOU DON’T KNOW SCIENCE. many are tied to an aligned morality Choice of Rebels for instance if you are a noble that is not bloody enough a romantic choice says nope. Other let you behind for being too ANARCHIC.

Psy school some ro would demand you go against your morality or say YOU HAVE SAY THIS TO BANG ME etc etc etc… It is something very common.

In hosted is even more common
