Prepare to be sucked in for a week.
NGL⦠this comes across as kinda entitled⦠In my experience, authors usually write choices games with a wide audience in mind so that the largest audience possible can enjoy their workā¦
Feedback is solid, but if youāre demanding the author only write something in a very particular way thatās kinda weird when itās supposed to be something for a larger audience⦠unless youāre personally commissioning a piece of work from an author to be made for yourself, and telling them exactly what you want from it or in the story then that becomes a lot more of something you absolutely should have control overā¦
Iām gay, and there are a plenty of of cool stories out there where having a gay MC isnāt an option, but that doesnāt mean I get to tell the author -how- to write their story, or that gay ROās must be included! If a story isnāt vibing with you though, and itās making you uncomfortable, I definitely recommend trying a different story to engage with.
CoG is pretty amazing with the depth and style of stories that have been published, or are WIPās.
This feels like a gross misunderstanding by MRU of what being polyamorous means.
I just want to remind everyone that what people like and do not like is entirely up to them! There is nothing wrong with not wanting to play certain content and wanting to see if that is in a game they are considering buying. At no point was there any condemnation of me writing these things, nor demands that I shouldnāt, just a question of whether it was there or not.
As to why people donāt like, or are even disturbed, by certain things, it is entirely their business. I might not understand it, but I donāt really need to either. Those things are personal, and I donāt judge. The reason why I replied was to clarify as much as I was able as to what was actually in the game. I know there have been some controversies with some games apparently pushing the poly relationship on the player if they follow certain romance paths, and I wasnāt sure if that was the issue or if it was them existing in alternate playthroughs. So I tried to be as clear as I could.
I know some people have issues with things existing in games that they might never see (I know the playersexual/bisexual angle of characters, or having them be gender selectable, tends to be a classic), and while I donāt understand, again, that is up to them. So letās make sure not to attack or deride anybody over this, there is really no need to do so. I just see this as product information, a bit like āDoes this cake contain egg?ā
Does it?
As long as I get to live out my Ortega/MC/Steel and Ortega/MC/Herald poly romance this game can do whatever it wants tbh
You can always be replaced at any moment in any relationship regardless of orientation. No one is compelled to remain with you over the millions of other options in monogamy either, itās a choice. Thatās why thereās mutual vulnerability, but it also creates intimacy. If you donāt want to feel vulnerable to rejection in a relationship, it actually sounds like you donāt want to experience a relationship. Which is totally fine itās just not specific to polyamory.
This is anā¦interesting way to find out that there are poly routes on Fallen Hero.
@Cecilia_Rosewood As someone whoās been in poly relationships irl Iāve had multiple playthroughs and it didnāt even come up. I canāt see it being is an issue if its only unlocked by your choices in-game.
ā¦Now excuse me while I play for a poly RO route.
Considering the possible state of Stepās gender Iād say very much yes.
I agree but I also can understand different perspective. A story may be interesting to you; the writing style, the plot, the characters and yet it has one big element you canāt ignore (e.g. mc with set gender). It itches, it irritates. You would like to continue, but at the same time you feel uncomfortable. So you have to say adios or keep playing and try to enjoy it halfway. Sometimes you will find that it was worth it if you chose the latter, but itās not always the case.
Some people clearly canāt resist venting their frustrations and authors react to these complaints in different ways, some with aggression⦠I rarely see that civilized responses like Malinās It is nice.
Who can you poly with Herald? Is it Argent? Iāve only done a poly playthrough with Argent and Ortega. Kinda accidentally cause I was just flirting with both. But a happy accident lmao. Chen and Ortega sounds cuuuute tho :3
I feel that. There was one story I really wanted to like. On itch. It was set in fantasy ancient Egypt but everyone kept introducing themselves with their pronouns. Even the shopkeeper or storyteller idk. It fits (personally) when itās modern times but in a fantasy or āancientā kinda game it totally takes me out of it. It was a shame cause I liked it otherwise. Kinda like that new Dragon Age game
Ortega.
I kinda feel poly with Argent would be dangerous for himā¦.
Yeah. Heād never walk again in this case.
Thanks to no longer having any legs
Ehh, far less of an issue when you can just fly. /s
Another good villan song
I played through the book 2 twice before realizing it was possible to actually get caught when I read online stuff about it. I wonder what percentage of players got revealed as the villain.
I didnāt get caught in my first playthroughs, Iām too good at being a villain for it lol. Of course, I did a few routes where I deliberately wanted to reveal MC. The drama the Rangers are making is just too delicious⦠Imagine it would be even better if Sidestep decides to reveal themselves in controlled settings with a hero pinned to the wall and evil laughter. Something like that.
