NGL… this comes across as kinda entitled… In my experience, authors usually write choices games with a wide audience in mind so that the largest audience possible can enjoy their work…

Feedback is solid, but if you’re demanding the author only write something in a very particular way that’s kinda weird when it’s supposed to be something for a larger audience… unless you’re personally commissioning a piece of work from an author to be made for yourself, and telling them exactly what you want from it or in the story then that becomes a lot more of something you absolutely should have control over…

I’m gay, and there are a plenty of of cool stories out there where having a gay MC isn’t an option, but that doesn’t mean I get to tell the author -how- to write their story, or that gay RO’s must be included! If a story isn’t vibing with you though, and it’s making you uncomfortable, I definitely recommend trying a different story to engage with.

CoG is pretty amazing with the depth and style of stories that have been published, or are WIP’s.

This feels like a gross misunderstanding by MRU of what being polyamorous means.

I just want to remind everyone that what people like and do not like is entirely up to them! There is nothing wrong with not wanting to play certain content and wanting to see if that is in a game they are considering buying. At no point was there any condemnation of me writing these things, nor demands that I shouldn’t, just a question of whether it was there or not.

As to why people don’t like, or are even disturbed, by certain things, it is entirely their business. I might not understand it, but I don’t really need to either. Those things are personal, and I don’t judge. The reason why I replied was to clarify as much as I was able as to what was actually in the game. I know there have been some controversies with some games apparently pushing the poly relationship on the player if they follow certain romance paths, and I wasn’t sure if that was the issue or if it was them existing in alternate playthroughs. So I tried to be as clear as I could.

I know some people have issues with things existing in games that they might never see (I know the playersexual/bisexual angle of characters, or having them be gender selectable, tends to be a classic), and while I don’t understand, again, that is up to them. So let’s make sure not to attack or deride anybody over this, there is really no need to do so. I just see this as product information, a bit like ā€œDoes this cake contain egg?ā€

As long as I get to live out my Ortega/MC/Steel and Ortega/MC/Herald poly romance this game can do whatever it wants tbh

You can always be replaced at any moment in any relationship regardless of orientation. No one is compelled to remain with you over the millions of other options in monogamy either, it’s a choice. That’s why there’s mutual vulnerability, but it also creates intimacy. If you don’t want to feel vulnerable to rejection in a relationship, it actually sounds like you don’t want to experience a relationship. Which is totally fine it’s just not specific to polyamory.

This is an…interesting way to find out that there are poly routes on Fallen Hero.

@Cecilia_Rosewood As someone who’s been in poly relationships irl I’ve had multiple playthroughs and it didn’t even come up. I can’t see it being is an issue if its only unlocked by your choices in-game.

…Now excuse me while I play for a poly RO route.

Considering the possible state of Step’s gender I’d say very much yes.

I agree but I also can understand different perspective. A story may be interesting to you; the writing style, the plot, the characters and yet it has one big element you can’t ignore (e.g. mc with set gender). It itches, it irritates. You would like to continue, but at the same time you feel uncomfortable. So you have to say adios or keep playing and try to enjoy it halfway. Sometimes you will find that it was worth it if you chose the latter, but it’s not always the case.

Some people clearly can’t resist venting their frustrations and authors react to these complaints in different ways, some with aggression… I rarely see that civilized responses like Malin’s :joy: It is nice.

Who can you poly with Herald? Is it Argent? I’ve only done a poly playthrough with Argent and Ortega. Kinda accidentally cause I was just flirting with both. But a happy accident lmao. Chen and Ortega sounds cuuuute tho :3

I feel that. There was one story I really wanted to like. On itch. It was set in fantasy ancient Egypt but everyone kept introducing themselves with their pronouns. Even the shopkeeper or storyteller idk. It fits (personally) when it’s modern times but in a fantasy or ā€œancientā€ kinda game it totally takes me out of it. It was a shame cause I liked it otherwise. Kinda like that new Dragon Age game

I kinda feel poly with Argent would be dangerous for him….

Yeah. He’d never walk again in this case.

I played through the book 2 twice before realizing it was possible to actually get caught when I read online stuff about it. I wonder what percentage of players got revealed as the villain.

I didn’t get caught in my first playthroughs, I’m too good at being a villain for it lol. Of course, I did a few routes where I deliberately wanted to reveal MC. The drama the Rangers are making is just too delicious… Imagine it would be even better if Sidestep decides to reveal themselves in controlled settings with a hero pinned to the wall and evil laughter. Something like that.
