Whit the new path i understand why herald can be traumatice by the villan, we are terrifying in armor, and the handyman saw that and decided that wanna figth it, don’t know if he was being brave or stupid
NGL, given i picked the terrifying armor in the first place, i was torn between scared shitless and squeeing, “money well spent” most of the time.
Now I can see why legit everyone was scared shitless of an mc in the terrifying armor… I agree with the money well spent statement Mortum did a great job with the armor regardless of the variation heck even the mysterious armor was freaky to have chasing after the mc.
By experiencing the 2.3 path Now I really like to play this route after my original 4.2, really liked my new power. It’s as much powerful as telepathy. kind of.
Sadly I never managed to be kicked out of my own body into ace. Do anyone know how that can be achieved?
And I still didn’t get my answer to a question I asked long time ago… how the game determines which imposter is getting active?
I have not released that yet! Right now there is either a single one (puppet path) or a choice (the others). Still fiddling with the settings…
…
Also thanks for the error spotting everyone!
You have to pick the options that indicate that you feel comfortable while using the puppet’s body and that you want to spend more time in there. Not seeing them only as a tool helps too.
Also, at the end of Retribution choose to punch the mirror where Sidestep is in.
Alternatively, you can also use this guide to see which options raise Sidestep’s comfort level regarding using the puppet’s body. It’s the first column.
I can’t wait for stuck in puppet and innocent. Being afraid of Sidestep as if we aren’t Sidestep ourself. I love my schizo puppet.
Note, this is optional – if Sidestep is already highly comfortable with being in the puppet then you can punch the dark mirror (this closes one gate, if you have any open) and still end up in the puppet. Punching the mirror with Sidestep is there as ‘last minute adjustment’ sort of thing.
Yeah, it also decrease the scar level if you haven’t opened any gates. So it’s a good option to pick if you want to decrease these two variables and are sure you will end up in the body you want to.
The penultimate chapter is just really well designed to make it fairly easy to get the ending you want. I only need to do a full playthrough for different romances because the two or three puppet impression choices and the mirror choice is enough to tank my “puppet is my safe space” score to be side!stuck and (probably) qualify me for most forks.
And for bonus roleplaying for the theater of my mind, it never seems out of character.
Bathroom stalls. Okay.
Anyway.
In terms of the overall flow, the Puppet prison escape route in 2.3 was great, and the feeling of being outgunned and outmatched was appropriately oppressive shudder. Relying on alien abilities 'Step barely understands, let alone controls, is a fascinating change.
The following choice of where-to-now seemed perhaps a bit railroady (though logical), and while I was never a big Mortum lover, pun intended, the demo(s) made me want to replay B1/2 and give the Doctor a chance.
Howeverrrr. The gun discussion with the Doc, for me, derailed into - perhaps not so much “bad confusion”, as much as - bewilderment and TMI. Felt like diving into the entire backstory of the gun, the Doc, the partner, the research, the moral ambiguity of it, the risks… - all good stuff, don’t get me wrong, and I’ll be all over it once it’s done - …just wondering if this the moment for it.
The fact this intruder didn’t say a word while attacking us seemed even more disturbing to me. I realized that Sidestep is quite talkative when they’re in armor, haha.
Why doesn’t they say anything?? Do they want to capture us (even if we get seriously hurt) or just to kill us? They told Ortega that they wanted to meet us and Ortega planned to get us out of prison, but the impostor went there in armor anyway.
Do anyone learn who Ace is? And how do I get Dr. Mortum talk about Ace past? I really want to know since I replay the previous game over and over again but never get the answer
@Knoez
I’m not 100% sure, but I think you need to go to the casino as the puppet and then you get the choice to ask Mortum to do some research.
You have to meet Shroud too
Go to the casino as the puppet and I think go to the tables. There should be a woman there who’ll recognise the puppet when you talk to her. Tell Mortum about it and ask her to look into your past. She’ll later tell you about Ace.
Either:
Go to the casino as the puppet with Mortum, don’t go with them to look at the gun and choose one of the other options. You’ll get bad vibes and you should be able to run into Shroud.
Or
If you go to the casino as yourself, have your puppet scout beforehand and you’ll meet Shroud then.
Either way, after the casino scene, you’ll be able to ask Mortum to do research on Shroud and learn about Ace
I have a question what does the infamy/obscurity stats mean ? At first I just thought that it was about how famus the MC is as a vilain but it appear that doing some heroic action as a vilain make you loose infamy…
How infamous rather. When you do terrible things that make headlines, infamy is increasing.
