I voted for SHint because I’ve been laser-focused on Sentinel since I first played Rebirth, like "yeah, this MF is a Chekov’s Gunman if I’ve ever seen one - that said, Puppet Crash MC Stuck is probably my least favorite path, so playing a save where I make use of that hint is pretty low on my list.

I have to agree, unfortunately. Getting Jake as an Ally seems like a weak option even in the thief route where you don’t have to sacrifice the machine.

@Tanurak Not necessaryly. I believe not everyone will use the Machine. I have at least one mc who will not. But I admit that the route of crashing Angie Party just for the lolz, and getting the cacofiend to come out and play is way more fun than helping Jake. That route for him will probably become important later on as things are revealed.
I mean just look at the choices of Rivals. Now we have more info and we can see the repercussions of them with book 2. Probably will be the same for those choices, related to Jake, chasing HG and so on.

Because…I don’t believe removing the Tattoo is enough.
The damage done is too deep.
I’m not saying it wouldn’t help. It would.
But it is also a personal choice. And mine is to not use the machine.
Erasing the tattoo is not a simple easy choice of ‘Remove them and Tadam! I’m now free forever, and look human like everyone else yay!’
Yes, it is also a mark of the farm owning you. They are also encrypted, so they aren’t just ‘Tattoos’, there is more to them. And finally…it may sound weird…but sometimes something you wish you could get rid of…is also something you are afraid of losing…so it’s very complicated. Because while the idea of being free from them is enticing…there is also fear there…are you denying what you could be? what you are supposed to be? And those Tattoos brough pain, torture, agony, suffering…so many things and shaped you into who you are for better or worse…
They are more than just tattoos, codes, mark of ownership…slavery…
They can also be ‘survival’…
But yeah, its complicated and this is the best explanation I can give you about how I feel about them.

I read once that using this machine would be somehow risky for MC but wasn’t explained what exactly this means. That worries me. My MC would really like to get rid of tattoos and scars (and disappoint Daniel who thinks it’s art ).
I’d like to learn more about technology before I decide if it’s worth. Can’t wait for it to be explained, hopefully in Revelations.

Well, one of the theme (correct me anyone if I’m wrong) is: What make a human…human?
Weirdly, this reminds me of Planescape: Torment. The game theme and the question being asked is ‘What can change the nature of a man?’ @malinryden dunno if you ever played Planescape: Torment, but if you never did…I hope one day you will find the time and play it. That game with its question is Epic and your writing reminds me of it.
The machine will most likely be risky if you piss off Mortum after giving it to the good doctor or if you try to assemble it yourself while you know jack shit about technology.
A tech savvy Sidestep is competent enough that Mortum would hire puppet as an assistant.
What scares me about the machine is the possibility of Argent messing it while we are using it.

If there was any fear about the machine? I would say:
1- The machine having a cost would be bad.
2- The machine only working once then goes Kaput…Angie will tear us a new one lol
3- The machine get destroyed or stolen again before we get to use it…
4- The machine being able to do more than just that…and suddenly everyone want it too! GET YOUR OWN! Lol

No, in all seriousness, I had never actually considered this and now I’m very interested. If you go the “good relationship, helmet reveal in the sewers, regene reveal at her apartment” path, she even admits that she was planning on killing/disposing of you one way or another after she got it built, which is exciting as a future possibility.

Here is my nightmare scenario.
Argent finds where Sidestep (who has stolen the machine) lives and goes there to tear a new one.
She finds them using them machine and uses her technopathy to trigger a Fly scenario as a revenge and then steals back the machine, while Sidestep is brutally disfigured.

The Special Directive track down the villain at their base
The Catastrofiend makes its home at their base while step is away
Hollow Ground wants revenge and goes after step
Argent tracks down Step to steal the Regenerator and gets involved
An all out war erupts between Argent vs The Catastrofiend vs The Special Directive vs Hollow Ground

This one is the one that could worry me the most.
Luckily we have the blueprints and the exp of having it built once already, so we could make another one.
Only person of importance that knows would be HG or an antagonized Argent right? HG either didn’t do inventory and knew they had it or just didn’t care.
According to her words though we are safe as long as she know we have the tattoos if we are working with her.

Re-genes are slave soldiers. It is in the Farm’s interests to dehumanise them (artificial growth, tattoos, chip implants and so on). To what degree they succeed, is another story
