Look. I added the detail that trans mc’s can notice the scars because I wanted to give a hint, not write people on the nose. Those are mostly for story purpose. They are not big and brutal, but skin still heals with scars, even with good and modern tech, and if you know what you look for you can pick it up.
As for genital surgery. That’s done today too, the biggest issue is size and arousal. With mod-tech being able to integrate mods in the nervous system, there is now a more seamless way to help with arousal instead of the “outside” methods of today. And with the advanced med-tech of the FH world, growing more “biomass” and going through several surgeries to increase size (don’t tell me cis men wouldn’t pay big bucks for that) is perfectly feasible.
Finally, I think the can safely say that at that point in time, Sidestep is an expert on scars, but a newbie when it comes to other people’s dicks.
Well, I don’t know. I think it’s a legitimate question i personally would have phrased the questions differently. But i do get the curiosity. I may have asked it myself if i had been playing with a trans Step and been in that part of the story.
To be fair, there have also been questions about other genitalia elsewhere, like if people are circumcised or not. I think it’s just something in the air (and the smell is coming from Reddit…)
EDIT: And I am assuming it is legitimate curiosity, a lot of people have no idea how that stuff works at all, and trying to google it can feel awkward (not to mention get weird results these days). I don’t mind weird questions! (I answer enough on patreon every month)
Is the technology used to perform these surgeries based off of the machine we can steal from the auction? Is there similarities between the two techs or is the machine more of a “prototype?”
I don’t know if I am remembering incorrectly, but won’t Trans Steps be able to use the machine to remove the surgery scars and make other changes?
I suspect the machine you can obtain uses repurposed nanovores (hence why it’s so bloody illegal) and as such isn’t likely to be the technology for making legal dicks.
OK, i’ll be first to admit my brain can swerve in odd ways, but now i’m wondering if anyone in FH-verse used a dick-making machine to make themselves into a Dickbutt.

What happened to the company that built the replicator or is that something that will be brought up in later books?
It’s actually really hard to discover that Mortum is trans in-game. You either need to be trans/non-binary yourself and have sex with them to notice their surgery scars, or you need to have a different gender than your puppet(or be the same gender and trans), reveal to Mortum that you and the puppet are the same person, then say that being puppet_gender feels better
Riiighhtt!! The most plot twisty-ee plot twist ever. That being the case lingered in the back of my mind due to a point where some scars were brought; after MC noticed them. But it wasn’t deeply spoken about, and I just brushed it off.
So of course once we reveal to them our identity, It took me by storm. I was in utter shock, but also not surprised because I kinda knew. I wasn’t sure how to feel. All I know is all of the little comments Mortum would make- suddenly made sense. Gosh, I love their route.
I got it this last play through I just did. Idr if I said being the puppet feels better, but I know Mortum said something along the lines of why lie and pretend Yasmin and the boss hate each other and MC being like it wasn’t really a lie.
I’m not sure what I did differently this playtbrough, but it seemed like I unlocked more in the Mortum romance this time lol. I feel like I’ve had MC reveal before and Mortum was mostly betrayed and angry.
I also got a different epilogue than I remember having before when it comes to Mortum and the puppet
