The name was merely meant as a reference to the defense attorney Ryunosuke from great ace attorney cuz sometiems he’s like "(My name is Ryunosuke Naruhodo and this thing happened).
Has any progress been made?
Yes, actually! I’ve been going through the branch options one by one and writing the dialogue in for each.
I’ve put way too many branch options in at this point, and not all of them are consequential. Still, I don’t want to leave out any reasonable responses. If I had the time, I’d add even more.
The structure of the upcoming sections is becoming a lot clearer as I progress. In fact, I might have something small to share before long.
It’s been a rough month. I’ve been working on different techniques for getting more written. I find myself getting hung up on variable application. I should be able to remove some friction here with reference guides and other memory aides. We’ll see how it goes. I’m hoping the change in seasons will perk me up a bit!
Sometimes during my branching path development, I wish I could just write stuff out without worrying so much about in-world cause and effect. There’s a small chance I’ll take a break by writing a different IF. But probably not; I know that’s a trap. If I started another project, I’d only get stuck in a similar way eventually, if not immediately!
I’d like to recommend a mystery game since I’m here. The Case of the Golden Idol is a great deductive reasoning game. Its sequel, Rise of the Golden Idol, has been getting even more cases added lately! Give these a look if you enjoy logic-based puzzles like I do.
I was hoping that doing monthly updates would inspire me to make more progress… it did not. I’m just going to have to go quiet for a while until I get my energy back.
That’s OK! What is the advice? Move in silence or whatever? I find that I do better when I’m given room to sprint and frolic through a story without being perceived, imo. I’m excited for you to go back to a process that works better for you, esp bc your comment sounds a little overworked and exhausted, and you deserve to rest well.
