I’ve considered this but currently don’t have plans to implement it yet. I have seen how other author’s have their page set up and if I get more free time I’ll be able to set something like that up.
@Sel_Lee The command I have in there now (commented out) is: *sm_init mygame | 3.
Unfortunately every time I tried it the game crashed before it could get out of startup. Hoping that extra ‘n’ in the command is little piece I was missing.
No, it’s definitely init and not innit. Where does it crash?
(Also you should use something else than “mygame”, that’s just going to cause trouble.)
@Jonyxtion Firstly thank you, I have little to no knowledge of Tumblr but I plan on looking into it.
I’ve been trying my best to avoid giving away spoilers concerning the MC Dragon Kin’s forms and it’s been pretty difficult considering some of the really cool art work posted in the chat.
I will confirm a couple things for you but only cause I’m 99% sure you’re also a veteran.
Spoilers
The human disguise appears to be exactly that, human. What the MC considers his/her “True Nature/Form” still looks relatively human. Human build, human face, but everything is clearly scaled, claws extended, wings, etc, if you chose smooth wings, your scales will be too small for any human to see and appear as a smooth surface, like marble stone. @Zarkrai has a couple posts that are very close.
Lastly, yes, there will be more than these 2 forms.
@LiliArch lol this is the first 13 lines of code in the startup.txt

I’ve commented it out because of the crash, but the game won’t load at all if I leave it in. I’ve tried moving it around, below it is nothing but a very long list of variables. If I place it before the scene_list it crashes but I also get the error telling me nothing can precede the scene_list
No, I mean, does it crash when you test it on your computer, or on Dashingdon? Because the former one is normal (and expected… it’s not supposed to work when you test it on your computer), the latter one is not.
You should probably put it after your variables (and achievements, if any) though.
Crashes on Dashingdon, I’ll give that a shot for the next update though
Now I have the levei
Dragon form or half dragon form inherently doesn’t need clothing since in those form they have scale which provide better protection than most equipment.
Clothing like solid armor plating with scale underneath probably will hinder movement and flexibility, MC’s protective scale and innate power in general will grow in strength the longer they live.
The only explanation why MC have half/humanoid dragon form is because in this form they’re smaller, more compact, easier to fight in many situation like in tight space or indoor, increased stealth and generally will make them harder to track, smaller form also mean there will be less scent, less inconspicuous footprint to find, less broken branch, broken tree, etc.
The true/fully dragon form is useful to fight large scale battle since obviously it is bigger, more intimidating, longer reach, heavier weight means every attack will deal more damage, more devastating dragon breath, overall increase of strength, protection, increase building damage since every swipe of tail will be like battering ram and possibly health pool, however this increase of ability will hinder speed, agility, stealth basically out of the window, there will be huge track to cover, broken tree broken branch, increase visibility during flight, etc.
Human form obviously putting more emphasis on concealment and agility than strength or destructive power, it’s a way to blend in with environment, indistinguishable footprint because it just like Human, obviously in Human form MC will need clothing because running around naked certainty will draw attention.
Since MC is not human they probably doesn’t care about having clothes or not even though they have clothing preference they use clothing for practical purpose like blending in the crowd, not drawing attention, etc than having clothes as necessity for example as protection from the elements or damage.
The way you explained those forms made it sounds similar to how the players in Werewolf Apocalypse: The Book of Hungry Names uses their different forms for certain situations.
This is how I’m seeing the full power of the full dragon form looking like.
Dragons
Werewolf doesn’t care if they’re naked since they have fur and obviously if they transformed their clothes will torn to rags, in MC’s situation it is the same they have scale covering their body and their wing and increase bulk probably will ruin the clothes.
Situation that also apply to many non human species, like Nymph, Mermaid, Dryad, Treant, birdkin/harpy, demon, Beastkin or half beast/half animal in general.
Why need clothes when you have more comfortable fur, tree bark, leaf, flower, fish scale, feather or generally tougher skin that is durable and could resist cold and heat, why use clothing at all when your body is your weapon in case of nymph or succubus or incubus.
Why use boots when you have hoof Or tentacle? Or fish tail? Or webbed feet.
Why use helmet when you have menacing horn and thick enough skull that can break through wall or flower grow in your head or hair or having leaf for hair need sun photosynthesis after all.
Why use gauntlet when you have wings for arm, vines and regrowing tentacle.
Why use glove when you have claw that can shred metal.
The reason for our MC is quite obvious clothing is just for situational purposes.
Another reason is that author doesn’t want this story turn into adult story where mc running around doing adventure naked .
MC is not just a dragon, they’re ancient dragon race, No doubt will be more powerful than that, in DnD term MC is like child of Tiamat the origin dragon or maybe Bahamut, already level 12-15 and after awakening at the mountain already past level 17 equal to demigod.
That sounds like that manhwa series I’ve read and stopped reading cause the MC was literally running around doing that stuff. I remember that it was called “Worn and Torn Newbie”.
I just make my mc dragon look like acnologia
Thanks for confirming with us about the MC’s “true form”. Now I can envision them more clearly in my mind when playing this game. Keep up the good work!
Yes! Fire and destruction. Mwahaha!
(I love Smaug.)
I also love Smaug too! Definitely one of the best talking dragons and dragons in general to show in cinema. Voice acting was superb. My favorite Smaug line was when he told Bilbo “You care about them do you? Good. Then you can watch them die!” He sounded so evil the way he said it! Kind of wished we could see more dragons like him. Also, I wanted to note that during his conversation with Bilbo once he woke up. He was actually being very polite to someone who trespassed in his lair to steal something from him. If it was any other dragons, he would’ve roasted him on the spot without any conversation.
My second favorite Smaug line would probably when he saw that archer dad about to use his bow on Smaug but it was broken. Smaug “Now that is a pity. What will you do now?.. Bowman!” Never thought I could hear the word Bowman be used in a mocking way.
Yes. And we have Benedict Cumberbatch to thank for providing his voice in the movie. He did an excellent job there. I don’t care if Smaug was supposed to be a villain in the movie/story, I love him to bits.
Edit: Sorry if this conversation isn’t related to this WIP. I’ll try not to go off topic much.
Yeah. A pity.
It’s too bad they scrapped the idea of making Smaug with a western dragon body type (four legs with wings on back) since in the first Hobbit movie when they did a flashback of him, he had that body type but they changed it because of Benedict’s performance of Smaug since the movement he did with the motion equipment wasn’t in line with that body type. I’m not saying I hate it. I loved his performance. It was just more of a preference for me since I prefer those type of dragon body types.
This is how Smaug was originally going to look before they changed it.
Ah yes it should be sm_init
It’s strange that it’s crashing.
Gotta say I am really liking this. I look forward to more. Specially to reunite with Gavin, answer Jepps questions, and prove Christian wrong that all dragons and their kin are mindless cruel beasts.
