Crème de la Crème Discussion and Romance Guide (Spoilers Within)

There is, but you need to have Gallatin closed down. I won’t tell you how to get the latter, though.

Thank you so much, I’m really glad you’re enjoying it!

I’m not sure if you have completed the game once yet, but in case you haven’t I’ll put it behind a spoiler tag. If you’ve been offered a job as a teacher and Gallatin closes at the end, or Lord Haberlin takes it over, then you will automatically go to teach at Archambault in Royal Affairs. If you don’t import a saved game, you can also answer a questionnaire at the start of Royal Affairs to tailor the state of things to exactly what you want and there is an option of “I became a teacher at Gallatin, then swapped to Archambault later”.

I see, thank you very much for the hint

And yes! I went through two different playthroughs at the moment, thank you for the insight :3

Somehow, it doesn’t include Lady Renaldt, Ms. Cezera Dalca, Mr. Raphael Blanchard, and Mr. Griffith.

I’m not quite sure what you mean - what doesn’t include them?

I was searching for Creme de la Creme characters, but somehow it doesn’t include the teachers such as I mentioned in the top. Only romanceable students.

Ah, I see - yes, it’s just the romance and friendship guide here. If there’s anything in particular you’d like to know about those characters, I may be able to shed light on it :slightly_smiling_face:

I don’t know if I posted my favorite pronoun settings before. If I did, it’s changed.

Blaise: Same as MC
Freddie: Opposite of MC
Gonzales: She/her
Karson: He/Him
Hartmann: She/her
Max: Opposite of MC
Delacroix: They/Them
Auguste: She/Her
Rosario: Same as MC
Florin: He/him

Well, I want to know the information of the three teachers, Ms. Dalca, Mr. Blanchard, and Mr. Griffith, if you have any

Does engagement season happen before the letter from Blaise arrives? My MC was talking about marrying Gonzales to get her parents off her back, but I am still interested in romancing Blaise.

Blaise’s letter is in the endgame, engagement season is just before. You’ll have to do certain things in order to get to properly romance Blaise.

Hi! I am enjoying the game(although restarted more than 5 times for a perfect run). Wanted to ask tho, If I seriously commit to Ms. Hartmann in Chap 7, will I be bound to them and not flirt/pursue any other character later or is the commitment superficial just to reassure her? I do not want to commit seriously to anyone for I like to explore with every character(but there’s seriously no option for her, you either commit or let her go :frowning: ). I am currently in kind of a flirtatious state with many characters, it would be bad to just break em up.

Oh and I would love if you add more polygamy options. I am not very fond of Max or Delacroix, one is a misfit and the other is an eerie person who believes in non sensual entities and practically runs a mini cult in the college(personal opinion, no offence). Gonzalez is good but she is too focused on her lacrosse for me to actually enjoy her without commitment. My fav characters so far have been Hartmann, the princess, Auguste(cool but not my cup of tea), and blaise(it feels good to break her guts :))

Also if you are engaged with the princess, does the story have a scene of mc joining the royal family? (Her character is good but half of my interest comes from her position lol)

Hello, I’m so happy you’re enjoying the game, thank you!

Max and Delacroix are the only polyamorous characters available as a triad, although you can do various slightly more complicated things like seeing Delacroix, Freddie, or Blaise on the side while romancing someone else.

Hartmann is one where, if they notice that you’re interested in someone else, they’ll ask about it and need you to commit to them fully or break up. Hartmann doesn’t bring it up if you have been secretive enough, but with some things, such as going on a date with Rosario, secrecy isn’t possible because everyone is talking about it. You can romance Blaise and Hartmann at the same time because there isn’t a chance for Hartmann to notice in-game.

Rosario has a section at the end in which you can spend time together and be introduced to a member of their family, though you don’t have a formal royal introduction as such. In the sequel, Royal Affairs, which has a different PC, the Creme de la Creme PC can appear onscreen as Rosario’s romantic partner.

This is an excellent interactive fiction game. Intrigue is my preferred skill, and I always select spirit as my weak point. However, poise often ends up being my weakest skill, possibly because I train with Gonzalez and achieve great results. Before going to Archambault, I usually have the highest relationship with either Freddie or Gonzalez. It’s a bit awkward when I have to turn them down and ask Max or Hartmann to accompany me in the carriage.

Due to my fondness for intrigue, I tend not to focus on other skills, resulting in an 82% intrigue and usually a 47% wit. This strategy has never hindered my ability to romance Max and Delacroix. I’ve read that high poise is required to romance Hartmann, but I’m too attached to intrigue to let it go. I find it amusing when a scruffy conspirator like mc wins the favor of Rosario or Hartmann, even if it’s a bit cliché.

I have a question: what’s the maximum number of entanglements one can have at once? I’ve had four: Rosario, Freddie, Karson, and Hartmann. However, since the last two are monogamous, I had to let them go before the engagement. I secretly romanced Freddie while engaged to Rosario, which I think suits my intrigue-based character well. I consistently maintain high popularity, virtue, and an A+ grade. Intrigue is powerful, but having low poise can be inconvenient at times. For instance, I always get scolded at Mrs. Banton’s, struggle to deliver a good award speech after winning the archery competition, and fail miserably at flirting with the princess on our date. But it’s fair, we can’t have everything at once.

I romanced Blaise while being engaged to Gonzales

@Tomato_Missile hello and welcome to the forum, and I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed the game! Well done on your Virtue, Popularity and Grades!

I don’t actually know what the maximum upper limit is of how many romances you can have all at the same time as it’s quite complicated and different characters will bring it up at different times, etc! This redditor managed to get a huge amount and I’m not even sure how they managed it.

@Kelly_Seastar yep! Blaise is one where the requirements are less strict to start a romance with them, because of the different way their screentime and romance is structured. Because being engaged to Gonzalez is as a friend, they’re happy for you to romance and/or have a physical relationship with other people alongside.

I know you can romance delacroix and max but is it possible to be engaged to the both of them at the same time

You can’t, I’m afraid, as polyamorous marriages aren’t legal in Westerlin; however, that isn’t the case everywhere in the world and it is possible that they could get married elsewhere after the game finishes.

(large spoilers for future games: if both Max and Delacroix are romanced, they can be encountered as spouses after Creme de la Creme, having got married in the intervening years.)

I know you can get other teachers beside Mr Griffith as headmaster after dealing with Lady Renaldt. How do you accomplish that, because I have been trying to get Miss Dalca as headmistress to no avail.

Hello and welcome to the forum! There is a walkthrough here which will probably help you - if you follow it and successfully get Lady Renaldt in trouble, you can then ask Inspector Burgin to put in a different Headteacher. Good luck!
