We’re excited to announce that Heroes of Tomorrow: Hidden Potential is releasing this Thursday, February 19th! You can play the first three chapters for free today, see the trailer on YouTube, and check out the author interview as well! And don’t forget to wishlist it on Steam! The more wishlists we get, the better the game will do on Steam on release day.

At our superhero academy, you’ll lead a team of teen heroes to battle supervillains! Will you fulfill your heroic legacy or forge your own path?

Heroes of Tomorrow: Hidden Potential is an interactive superpower novel by Eloy Lasanta, where your choices control the story. It’s entirely text-based, 600,000 words and hundreds of choices, without graphics or sound effects, and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.

Welcome to Evos Academy! As a member of the next generation of superheroes in a world where comic books record the deeds of real-life heroes, you don’t pass your classes by writing the correct answers on a paper; you do it by defeating a swarm of super-science automatons in front of a stadium full of cheering fans.

Develop your powers, practice working as a team with your classmates, and develop your own distinctive style while you learn from the greatest heroes that Earth has ever seen: valiant Gladiator, super-gadgeteer Gearhead…

…and, oh yeah, your mom.

Hardly anyone knows that you grew up as the sidekick to your mother, the famed hero known as The Cloak, keeping your gritty metropolis safe from the world’s worst villains. Some of your classmates are grappling with a legacy of power, too: Paragon’s father is the mighty hero Brilliant, and Red Claw’s mother is the villain Destroya. Each of you must choose what kind of hero you want to be. Do you want to be like your heroic parents, or do you want to blaze your own trail?

The choices just keep getting harder when it becomes clear that there’s more than your average supervillainy going on. Who keeps breaking into Evos Academy’s supposedly ultra-secure campus, and why? Why are your powers acting so strangely? What is the voice that whispers to you in your dreams? Why are all the villains’ plots suddenly focused on you? And what will you do when you discover that some of your idols aren’t so heroic after all?

• Play as male, female, nonbinary, or genderfluid; gay, straight, bi, or asexual.
• Choose your superpowers—elemental control, energy manipulation, super-physique, beast powers, or telekinesis—and customize your super-suit!
• Romance or befriend a demon seeking redemption, a clever thief with a mysterious client, a powerful mage-in-training, or an already-famous heroic icon.
• Protect the city and become the people’s hero, or let the world burn!
• Banter with your foes, build super-tech gadgets, or let your fists do the talking!
• Fight alongside—or against—your classmates and mentors in brutally high-powered action battles!
• Battle supervillains that teleport, shapeshift, summon lava from volcanos, and turn the world into a videogame!
• Uncover the secrets that the heroes have been keeping from you about everything—even about yourself!

Can you defeat criminals, cultists, demons, and midterms?

I’ve been waiting for this for a long time…why am I so nervous?! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes::purple_heart: I hope everyone enjoys the game!

Of course you’re nervous, you worked hard on this and you want everyone to love it! But I think most people will. There are games I have tested (and loved) that I’d be the first to say aren’t for everyone, but yours has crowd-pleaser written all over it.

Oooh, I can’t wait to read the whole book, the characters are awesome, I really don’t have a favourite (yet xD) the love interests are really cool, even the ones who tried to fight against us (I look at you, RC ) Congratulations, author :confetti_ball::tada:

Thank you, @Queen_Zelda! This comment is why I’m so excited for the game to finally come out! So much happens in just the first 3 chapters, and it gets even more wild from there. Thursday can’t come fast enough.

I loved the demo, I’ll definitely buy it. I was desperate for a superhero game with a multiverse and magic.

I’m reminded of Unsupervised, what with all the different powers. Unsupervised is my favourite CoG of all time and MHA is my favourite anime so I’ll definitely give this a shot.

My guilty pleasure when playing Unsupervised was picking dialogue choices that antagonised Flit, to the point where your dynamic had the potential to go from a childhood friend who had your back to a bitter enemy who you can actually *kill*. Unsupervised is truly one of a kind and I don’t expect reactability to this extent from other CoGs, but at least from my impression of the demo, you can’t really be mean or rude. After the intro where Red Claw attacks you unprovoked, I envisioned my character, Reaper, never forgiving him and becoming his Bakugo, with the possibility of warming up and becoming friends later on in the story. But Reaper was forced to play nice with him and his BFF. Reaper had no choice but to save RC from Z, and you couldn’t gang up on RC or be apathetic and let the teacher break things up instead - you’re forced to harm Z (who is my favourite character btw) if you don’t want to pick the choice that is nice to RC (and Reaper really did not want to). Reaper couldn’t overtly take Z’s side against him in their beef and he had to tell Z it’s wrong. There were also random friendly interactions with RC, such as when Reaper was being edgy and silent in class. This meant that RC’s relationship toward Reaper by the end of Chapter 3 never really decayed below 30% despite him taking every mean-sounding dialogue choice possible. Please note that Reaper’s choices do not reflect who I am irl, I am role-playing in a choice based game.

Mind you, this is just a minor quibble and I’m still very much excited to pick up this game. Best of luck for your release!

@Aiko1 You humble me. Thank you! :purple_heart:

@Nerull Woot! I hope you love it!

@Albedo_Alucard Thanks for checking out the demo! In the early chapters, your actions won’t create huge percentage swings in your relationships. In the demo, everyone is still acclimating to the school. Trust me, there are definitely ways to degrade those relationships later in the story (if that’s your goal).

You know, the first combat class against the Gladiator reminded me a lot of one of the premises stated in The Crown about the role of the crown: the difficult task of having the powers of the head of state while being restrained to avoid further chaos by intervening in partisan conflicts.

And I felt that the student-teacher hierarchy is there, and rationally, there’s a greater risk for students than for teachers to intervene in the Zoom vs. Red Claw conflict. On the other hand, what ethical conflicts lie behind those who don’t intervene in conflicts, or to what extent is it ethical to show too much initiative in so many things, like that choice regarding it in this very class?

These types of conflicts have sparked my interest in the ethics of heroism and also led to my first encounter with the Chameleon

I will patiently await the publication of this interesting story tomorrow.

Yes! This! I tried very hard to make each Mentor a well-rounded character in their own right. Gladiator’s hesitation in that moment is just a glimpse of that.

So excited for tomorrow!

I’m torn, I’m not a fan of school stories but I am a fan of superhero stories, and we can have telekinesis!

Ditto. I’m a little weary of playing teenagers, but never of superpowered heroics, so… wishlisted!

@dominarrygel So glad you enjoyed it!

@LiliArch @Tarlonniel If it helps, it’s more college than high school. Also, the game branches out after Act One.

@Konoi Thanks so much! I’m counting the hours until tomorrow.
