College Tennis: Origin Story (WIP) - Updated 8 Jun '25 [968k words]

Endurance/agility and tactics/finesse

Depends on playing style. I tend to design an agressive baseliner who leans on strength, agility and endurance. I then spend alot of training time trying to make him not suck at seving and finesse.

I personally worry that the all-court player will end up being a neutered entity, since they simply won’t have a high enough skill in any stats to pass moderate checks.

Thus I kinda concede to having a dump stat or two.

I dunno. Isn’t Federer considered an all court player? I wound up with that when I played the demo and didn’t run into any problems.

I’ve run through the game with the updates a few times, you can make most of the checks with strength, agility, endurance and okay serve and volley. I always work on shoring that up from a tall, athletic aggressive baseliner as there are a reasonable number of strength plus serve and volley checks.

Hello anyone, can i be a bully in this game?

You can do some really mean relationship related stuff but for the most part you can’t really be all that mean/bullyish

in the quarterfinals match, after my match begins, it takes me back to the match vs ruiz and gonazalez

Are you by chance playing against Sam or not against Sam?

not against sam

That’s why, it hasn’t been written yet

Happened to me too, it’s confusing as you think it’s a bug as nothing comes up saying that’s the current end of the demo but itvis.

Hey!
New player here! I discovered that I am unable to get the Invincible First Week achievement for some reason, despite being first in Strength Tests and runs, completing the :smiling_face_with_horns:12 and winning against Emerson.

Am I missing out on something or it is just a glitch?

He says he did that, and I’ve gotten the same issue as well

So after a lot of breaks, I have completed a few runs of the game, as well as the lore surrounding it on Tumblr, and I have some questions…

  1. I noticed that promiscuous MCs have an option to suggest an open relationship to their partners. If such a suggestion is accepted, could there be a situation in the future where MC has to deal with aforementioned promiscuity from their partner’s end? Does such an incident have any effect on their game, or is it just another day considering they themselves don’t believe in commitment?

  2. For MCs in a committed relationship who hooked up with Felix, and chose to not reveal this to their partners, are their any repercussions further down the line for being unfaithful and dishonest?

  3. If the fact that you hooked up with Felix ever manifests itself infront of your other team members, especially Tobin, how does it affect your relationship with them?

  4. Having asked about the dynamics about Felix so much, why aren’t their any face claims for Felix, or for that matter, several other characters? Not having one for Dad makes sense, due to personalization and stuff, but atleast all the team members deserve one if the ROs have been given one.

  5. Is the entire game going to revolve around hard courts, or do we have a possibility of exploring grass or clay in the future? I am not aware about how NCAO works, but maybe new surfaces help MC evolve his game in new dimensions?

  6. From the way the story is progressing, it seems that skilled enough MCs are on track to being the best player by their Sophomore, or at max Junior year, in atleast their uni team, if not the entire nation. Is there a possibility of MC getting a true rival of his own age (I know that Rayyan exists, but he is 2 years older than us, maybe the earliest we face him is after he turns pro). I believe that a rival dynamic with someone from a rival Uni, someone who seems like an unsurpassable wall, despite however skilled MC is, will be a genuine motivator for his progress.

  7. Does the game cover only the freshman year, or do you plan to go on till further ahead, maybe till the pro days of MC? Maybe not in this game, but sequels?

Long message, but couldn’t help myself from offloading all the queries my brain was teeming with …

Also, just a suggestion, I felt that the nickname your teammates give you if you succeed in any challenge, isn’t used much by the members. I believe that they could be not only used in casual convos or during matches more often, but could be a good ammunition for banter from our opponents, if they get to know of our nickname during a match.

Seven, at least, I can answer right away, it’s just going to be freshman year
