Well, can’t say i’m surprised. But i’d laugh if Sam’s “unpredictability” resulted in the cheat code not working during their match. Who’s to say MC is the only one allowed to play dirty. :v
Hey, don’t blame me. Blame the writer for putting in the cheat code to be abused.
Honestly, same here. That would be pretty amazing and maybe throw in a 4th wall break from Sam while we’re at it.
MY main trait is that I’ve lost a total of two tennis matches in this game while playing a build that’s FIGHTING ITSELF, and I STILL only lost because they were scripted like that. I’m very predictable: I win.
Strength plus agility plus endurance plus finesse plus also working on tactics is a build that’s essentially unbeatable. I used to be able to juggle all five evenly, that didn’t work out so much, but if I just use tactics as a complementary stat and let it increase overtime, I can still more or less juggle all five. Who needs serving, anyway? Sam has no chance
Serving only helps you with one strike in every point that you’re already winning at best, clearly suboptimal choice.
There’s some checks which use S/V during the matches as well (because it’s not just for serving, but also for play at the net) but honestly, the fact it has less use than the other skills basically reflects modern tennis with reduced use of net play. It’s how Jacks notes when watching Emerson – it’s now considered impractical and specialized serve-and-volleyers are a dying breed. If you pick it then it’s very much for style over substance.
My Agility/Endurance and Finesse/Tactics girl is thus far unstoppable and has only lost what is hard coded as such! Sam truly has no chance.
It is fun that the most tennis sounding skill of them all seems to be the most dumpable
@Venusian_Scorpio, @BLACK_FF Thanks for the catch, I’ve edited it and the update will be in the new upcoming update P.S. glad you enjoyed the IF!
@tea_with_crumpers and @David_Thrall
The mixed doubles is not really more prestigious, I’d say. It just gives MC different partner options to try/experiment with… especially if some MCs have a headcanon where they really want to partnering Felix / their own regular season partner for whatever reason (e.g. they want to play against Sam, for example — like what David_thrall said. As for who will be partnering who,
As for who else will be selected for the tournament.. you’ll just have to wait and see!
@fsix Noted, will do that for the upcoming dev logs + will try to find the time to set the jan dev log to public!
Ah, I suppose you only get to commit if Tobin / Rayyan notice that you’re… particularly close to Sam, and it pulls a “I demand to know how you feel about me” moment from them. I’ll debate adding a commit option for folks who aren’t romancing Sam into the Halloween party, and hopefully get it done before the upcoming update!
This is very true, thank you for pointing this out! Let me try to also add in some sam_feelings_oblivious tracker and tweak the scene saccordingly. I think it’s important to have the option for oblivious feelings …that only become apparent during the weekend, as it’s probably not that niche (I can see a lot of players wanting to play that storyline!)
This is very possible — and if added to the weekend scenes, this would help to avoid needing to have additional scenes where MC may be … “discovering” their feelings prior to Sam visiting, which would make the work to do the writing/coding not too onerous.
This is really weird and definitely not intentional, I’ll check it out!!
As for the D asking if they had a good time and Sam joking around with MC as though nothing had happened — I’ll check on this as well. As for the Deepal Rayyan meeting you describe that sounds like the correct Sam-rejection reaction.
p.s. thank you so much for the long and detailed feedback, it’s been super useful! I hope to edit the scenes you mention in time for the coming update
Yeah… mostly it would just make the emotional beats of the tournament chapter (plus the number of matches) too long, with essentially 2 different climaxes (one leading up to the finals for the mixed doubles and one for the other doubles). Sorry, you’ll have to choose one, for narrative reasons
Okay, that’s it for my answers for now, I’ll try my best to get to more of you guys’s comments another time Thank you all for the active interaction on here, I read every single one of the comments even if I don’t reply to all of them (or just take a very long time to!) <3
Ah - just to clarify, firstly, you did not get an option to sleep on the mattress when you had too high of a romance stat with Sam? But you got the option when your romance stat was low?
And secondly, when picking to sleep on the mattress, you still wake up with Sam in the morning?
And thanks @Bracco for the bugs you helped compile, I’ve fixed all of these in the code for the upcoming update!
Hmm okay full disclosure, it’s more an open relationship route that Sam’s rather miffed about, rather than an actual poly route.
@Neverwherehere Damn, this comment made me really happy, thank you! I’m glad that you’re happy with how the IF has turned out so far, and I’m really glad you liked Sam’s romance! As for G in Sam’s route… yeah… ouch. Though to be fair, Sam on G’s route is also big ouch.
Absolutely! I love the idea of Sam doing an interview years later and gloating about the time they beat MC in that national doubles tournament…
This is actually really funny haha. I’ll definitely consider it in the update where MC gets to play Sam.

HAHAH. To be fair, it’s supposed to be helpful for volleying too… I’ve clearly not been checking that stat often enough A good reminder to create some important junctures in the upcoming matches where a high s/v stat will give a sizeable advantage.
Yeah, pretty much. I reloaded both saves to get some screenshots -
23% romance stat (after rejecting Sam):
Technically there’s still the option with the heart (which I somehow misread before, my bad) but the non-romance option to take the mattress is gone, plus Diego is still in the room. He’s mentioned right before and right after that
IIRC the mattress/bed sharing thing is kind of intentional – if you reject Sam and their romance stat is high they need “time for themselves” and insist on taking the mattress, but if it’s middling then they aren’t too heartbroken and treat the bed sharing like more of “we’ve done that as friends” grey area thing. Though obv. if you rejected them, that should block the heart options.
Alas my actions have consequences!
I’ve had a look at the game’s script, and the option to take the mattress is only available if the romance stat is under 15% In hindsight there’s perhaps no need for this requirement, since the player might still want it even if their romance stat is higher.
As for finding yourself in the bed, that’s a small mistake with placement of relevant *goto
instructions. They’ll be likely fixed in the next update.

This chapter has a pretty beefy/substantial word-count of new scenes, and I managed to finish writing the third round match for the National Doubles tournament… though at the expense of more editing* (See below for a disclaimer).
Features:
- Fall festival (mini-car trip to a nearby town: hang out with your hallmates, feast on doughnuts and pies and apple cider, kiss in a corn maze with G)
- Experience the fall-out and consequences of your Halloween Hookup (if you’d done something with Felix…) this got a lot lengthier than I thought (and very branchy)
- Extra fall dates with Tobin/Rayyan (if romanced). This includes a hike or a run + dip in a frigid lake, respectively.
- Gear up for the National Doubles Tournament with your doubles partner
- Ride in the bus up to University of Philadelphia and play the first two rounds of the tournament.
- Bump into a certain redhead who’s now more foe than friend (technically, anyway).
- Spend your first night in the hotel room (pre-match shenanigans with one particular character, for the brave and the lucky…)
- The third-round match!
(win this, and you’re through to the quarter-finals!)
There are also some extra scenes/changes I made to the earlier segments:
- The challenge match re-match against Deepal (and/or the player who managed to beat you), which means your highest rank is now No. 3
- Valentina’s Tacos now plays Mexican music (Son Jarocho)
Bear with me as I continue editing/polishing the chapter, and as always, love you guys and hope you enjoy the new content!
<3 Allie
Disclaimer:
I’m still tweaking the chapter based on beta-testers’ feedback, so it may be less polished (bugs are probably there, lurking) but I should be able to clean it up within the next 2 days.
However, because COGdemos now bumps you all the way to the start whenever I change any scenes, if you don’t want to end up having to replay when I push the bug-fixes, then you might want to wait a little bit!
Even though the hookup fallout is going to be about Felix, I’m cackling over the what if of Rayyan getting some too and the team breathing a sigh of relief over finally not having to pretend that they don’t know that Rayyan and MC are very diligently doing extracurricular work after hours to improve their doubles partnership lol.
Like I know MC wants to keep it on the down low for now (and they are right because the big damn kiss needs to be after they lift the trophy ) but seriously those lingering hugs hugs during the Empire match were so damn obvious guys come on
especially because this is Rayyan
They are damn lucky that victory is one hell of a high they can pass it off on
Also some things I noticed continuity wise
If MC skips the first party but then accompanies G to the roof they’ll refer to G as their hall mate + by their name in the internal narration before G introduces themselves
Choosing to sleep on the air mattress while Sam takes the bed (committed to Rayyan and low Sam romance) has the first scene after waking up be MC and S waking up and snuggling in the same bed before next page has MC back on the mattress.
During the Halloween party scene MC makes a comment about being in a house with a bunch of screaming jokes ( I mean they are jokes but I assume this is meant to be jocks)
Was doing a bunch of athletic workouts over various weeks (Rayyan how dare you make my brainy MC run, you’ll pay for these sins) and was getting the same Emerson scene for all of them - but if dunno if this is just a placeholder
Yes, pretty much.
Ah, thought as much.
Also noticed another continuity issue with G’s introduction (on the ignore G entirely path, sorry G I’ll totally romance you in my second run to make it up to you) - if MC skips the party and shows a shocking lack of self preservation by not investigating who’s prying their window open, the next day during the Diego intro the narration refers to G by name before they introduce themselves to MC
Also during the Emerson match there’s a brief section where the narrative slips into first person instead of second
What are the actual benefits of joining the photography club? Joining the photography club does not actually do much after the first session as the benefit after the first session is just 3% stat point with G and cost 1 action point for the weekend, which is not very worth it. Are there more benefits that I was not aware of, or that will be added? Because there is really no reason to join it if the intention is to min max stats.
For G romancers / friendmancers to be able to spend more time with them.
But you’re right outside of that it’s doesn’t look worth it for those going for T / R.
Need to continue the play of the latest patched version.
