Okay, will pick the Cargill one for demo/playtesting purposes then and to see the Sam content, probably gonna go for the first in person meetup with Sam after my mc realized his feelings in California in the full version, whenever that is.

Yup! As @JBento’s screenshot shows, I intend for you to be able to convince Sam to come visit, AND also have MC visit Sam later on (as long as MC schedules the earlier visit, i.e. Cargill, first.) I’ll try to make this more clear in the game!
Hahahahaha!! Yes, Sam will get to meet the team briefly, and hang out with the hallmates (particularly G and D) over the weekend. I do hope for your sake and G’s that G is not described as your “it’s complicated” though

Finally, I also wanted to add that I’ve edited the timelines thanks to @JBento’s helpful testing and feedback; basically I’d changed my mind a couple of times on how the narrative would flow, and have edited to reflect my current concept:
- 2 weeks to Sam’s visit to Cargill (and MC’s first match of the season)
- 4 weeks to the ITA championships
- 6 weeks to MC’s visit to UCLA.

Well, at this point I’m just counting it a victory for everyone’s sanity that you aren’t introducing Sam as your best friend, G as your “it’s complicated”, and Addie as the love of your life.

Also, on a more practical note, if you’re on the public release link, I recommend waiting till the new update is out in a couple days before replaying haha, would save you some trouble

I think that works even better, one very awkward ITA championship where Sam may or may not realize something is up with his best friend before California where my mc will finally try to tell, hopefully Sam is less dense when it comes to romance than my mc is.

question: will there be special scenes for chatacters if you have high friendship with them? or is the special stuff only locked with romance?
I noticed there was both a friendship and romance stat so I was wondering if the former was the case. most of the characters that I like the most (sam, rayyan, etc.) are men so Im not going to romance them but I would still like some special scenes with them if the friendship stat is high enough.

@dividom Yes! Great point, and thanks for asking! I really want CT:OS to leave room for strong friendships as well, not just romances, and I also want the characters to feel like people, not just romance options.
So yes—there are going to be opportunities where you’ll get quiet moments with characters and they’ll definitely open up to you if you guys are tight That’s the reason why I’d chosen to keep track of a friendship meter as well!
