Not really sure what happened here since I think the discussion went off topic?
Anyway my opinion is that every forum is unique pros and cons. We cannot really expect it all to be rainbows and butterfly. Regardless, the ones who control or monitor them are also people which gives them entitlement as to what their forum tolerates or not.
It all depends on the user where they really feel like they connect and feel accepted. Other forums have other issues that we could not know which is why they act like that. So, comparing forums to other forums is just plain unfair and in my opinion rather childish behavior since the person didn’t get what they want.
In this case I can give plenty of pros and cons using the CoG forum, but I’ll stick with one thing that I like about CoG. The mods… See even if they have their own little world of how they monitor the forum they are present. I’ll say I don’t like some of the mods since they seem like…well…nevermind…better just leave it like that……
So back on topic, the mods are there period… the forum is maintained to be friendly for all…

(Which admittedly makes us come across as dictatorial hypocrites at times

I honestly think that apart from the people on here who by the way are all really nice people who I’ve learned A LOT from. One of the most prominent reasons this forum is so successful is because the moderators actually do their job. Not trying to compare other forums, simply stating a fact.

Ok so I read the rules to see if this type of post is okay and saw nothing that said it wasn’t but if I’m wrong my apologies. Anyway getting on to the topic I’ve seen people on the fourms getting kinda testy with each other so I wanted to make an appreciation post so here goes.
First a thank you to the @moderators for taking thier time to help out on the fourm and helping things run smoothly, your all awesome!!
Second. A thank you to the writers for choice of and hosted games and to the people who have WIPS. I love reading all the different kinds of stories and I admire everyone’s dedication ( as I someday want to be a writer) even if you only write a page or so a month! The world would be so boring with out stories so keep on Rocking!
Third a thank you to the people who just lurk the fourms like me. You guys give good feedback and make up a good percent of beta testers and of course with out any readers Authors wouldn’t write very many stories! So yay to us!
And fourth to any staff I missed thanking you for doing whatever it is you guys do your hard work is very much appreciated!
And as my last note I’d like to say as you can see each different group has thier purpose and just with out one of these groups Cog, Hg and the fourms wouldn’t work out that well. I Iove the Sense of community from the fourms and I seriously appreciate you all so much and thank you for all you do! ( Ps I apologise for my spelling and grammar mistakes)
