I shouldn’t have read Havenstone’s recent post. Got me all excited and I know I’m going to have to wait a while…
Author, do you plan to include abhumans and similar parts of the story in the demo/preview part of book II ?
I’m asking because I am a huge fan of the first one (in fact I’d struggle to imagine a better opinion on a work of interactive fiction than the one I have about XoR I ) but some discussion about the wip sequel got me super worried.
I do, and I also plan to post them here for testing when they’re ready. So you’ll have a chance to see if it’s your cup of tea, and to feed back.
How will the relationship between Calea and MC work?
@Havenstone I was looking through the code in Chap 4 and noticed a potential bug
#No. I forbid it.
Elery raises an eyebrow, her
*if e_rel > 9
lips trembling.
*if e_rel > 9
glare still ferocious despite her trembling lips.
Is the second > supposed to be a < ?
I’m not sure if it helps, but Calea can only be romanced by Helots MC. So I think her relationship will kind of fork depending on your origin.
My MC is a Helot, but what I wanted to know is if she is going to become a rebel or MC is going to have to give up the rebellion to get into a relationship with her.
Most likely not give up rebellion that sounds like a short story, but knowing Calea, she might try to get MC to work the rebellion toward a way that makes sure Keriatou will stay in power…
But will she love MC or is it just a relationship to keep Keriatou in power? Like political marriage.
Apologies, but I have no idea ¯_(ツ)_/¯ All I got is guesses and speculations. Havenstone’s got all the power here, we have to see what’s it gonna be like.
All I wanted was a noblewoman for my nationalist aristocrat MC, but I don’t think he will get one.
Might have to change the code to get Suzanne instead of Simon if I want my MC to romance someone.
There’s prince(ss) nippletwister, but they won’t debut until game 3, I think.
Well the author did admit that our particular rebellion fares poorly as a dating service. Presumably, if you end up in power, you can have nearly anybody you want, but they won’t be full fledged romances with fully detailed character arcs in-game.
The RO’s also aren’t fully set in stone and if there is anybody the audience takes a particular shine to Havenstone may change the ro plans again, I mean I think he’s done so at least twice already.
My MC is a nationalist who wants to destroy the Hegemony and rebuild Shayard again. I doubt the heir of the Hegemony will want anything with my MC.
But war is a fertile ground for political alliances, and one of the most common ways to seal an alliance is through marriage.
And my MC is the last of his name, he must start thinking about heirs soon, because of the possibility of him dying at the war.
Actual video of the Ruthless MC trying to spread the new religion (or the split inside the Church) in Game 2.
“Ahoy-hoy, lowly mortals” is such a good call to come from the Ecclect.
Neither.
It is looking as if there will not be ROs who are themselves nationalistic, noble, and female–that’s true.
I’m in the same boat.
Maybe we can find some middle ground with Teren, because right know she is the only option without tempering with the code .
Even Calea ( ) would be an acceptable choice for my noble, that is how desperate I am.
Who’s stoping you from appointing new nobles once you win. If you are sticking with still having nobles and the like.
My characters thoughts on sleeping with helots/former-helots:
And if my character is in power, there is no point in marrying into lesser nobility. No advantages comes from it.

there is no point in marrying into lesser nobility
Maybe the emperor of Halassur has a sister…
Still not Shayardene, but not “lesser nobility” either.
