Choice of Rebels: Uprising — Lead the revolt against a bloodthirsty empire!

Sounds like a bug!

Were you managing the winter raids directly, or letting a deputy manage for you?

Zvad was managing everything

Pretty sure letting your deputy take care of the winter is in itself a bad idea. You probably lose the respect of the band, they might lose more adults than you’d probably be able to and you’re basically banking everything on RNGsus more than you would if you lead the winter yourself.

However, it does make you deal less with the shitty maths and minmaxing or planning to survive, which takes the stressful edge off the game.

True, unfortunately I’m very controlling, have low expectations of others and am naturally distrusting.
So the idea of leaving everything to my deputy already leaves me very anxious, thinking whether or not they’re making the right raids/missions and giving the right tasks to the other leaders, especially when thinking there’s a traitor among us.

Fun fact: if you kill off or drive away Breden, a traitor isn’t mentioned again. If you drive Breden away at the earliest convenience, a traitor isnt mentioned more than once, and the game is significantly easier for it (as long as you have the Charisma to carry it).

Hmm.

The one thing that kept from getting rid of Breden was that they had a strong hold on some of the helots especially Elery who got mad if you didn’t bring Breden in fighting the alastor(I think). Not to mention they’re almost esential when you have 0 CHA especially when dealing with priests.

Believe it or not, by the end of winter, morale was generally positive, and he did a really good job of handling everything. Sent rebels out hunting on the weeks I didn’t want to raid to keep anarchy below 20, and only like 20 adults died. Plus, I ran through a game trying to do everything myself, and it made me so stressed I stopped reading and didn’t pick it back up til a few days ago and just let Zvad handle everything and it made the game so much more enjoyable for me

My memories kinda fuzzy but I vaguely remember the first time I let him it lead it didn’t go so well, then again I remember getting Suzzane with a big band and getting the spears in the same playthroughs.

Can’t do both, it’s impossible. You either sacrifice a lot of characters and your starting numbers for the spears later on, or get a large band at the offset and forgo the spears.

If you focus a lot of your winter energy on recruitment (rather than traps or literacy), you can have a big band and spears.

Good to know my memory isn’t as bad as i thought.

Hey I’m on chapter 3. Should I choose to follow the Eclect route and have Linos bless my rebellion or create a new religion. I’m kinda stuck as I don’t know/remember enough about the angels religion to make an informed decision.

If I remember right, there’s a glossary in the stats page.

Declaring yourself (with help) to be the Fantasy Pope has benefits: Zvad won’t leave if you play the religion card, if you’re pious you’ll attract more rebels, and they’ll be willing to fight harder for you and die as martyrs for your cause.

It isn’t without its downsides, as you can and will be considered a heretic by some as well as piss off any skeptics you meet or those in your band (like Elery), which’ll probably have a greater penalty in future games.

You could also found Fantasy Protestantism, which has fewer benefits but also fewer costs (except with the aforementioned martyr thing, where if you’ve done the Angels’ Voice route a certain someone might be just willing to die for you at the drop of a hat anyway regardless of what you say or whether or not it’s a good idea).

Actually Zvad still leaves me even as an ecclesiast for some reason.
@Laoch_King Asides from letting Linos give you and the band blessings you’ll need 2 CHA to do basically anything religious otherwise you’ll end up angering the more devout followers some even leaving the band.

You can alternatively appeal to Breden if the two of you are on good terms, and they’ll give you the CHA needed to sway the band.

Doing anything majorly religious without Breden’s help requires 2 CHA or it’s a straight up failure.

You gotta be forceful with him, if I remember rightly. Only one dialogue option will make him stay.

I know it’s supposed to be the 5th choice that you get if you decide to become a religious icon, but he still leaves me. I don’t think I’ve had a playthrough where I fought the army with Zvad still as deputy.

I think you have to have 2 CHA, on top of being Eclect, if you want to convince him to stay.

It might have been at least 1 CHA, since I don’t usually play with 2 CHA… aw, heck, I don’t know. It’s been too long.

Which would you guys say is better?
