Children of the Gods (Important poll #12306)

Oh yes, there’s no denying Zeus was terrible in the myths but then again, who isn’t in those? Pretty much all the gods and goddesses are complete jerks at some point.

But in-game? As much as I don’t like him I do support his effort against Cronus. We don’t know the Titan’s plan but I’m sure it’s bad news, both for Olympus and Earth. That’s why dethroning him wouldn’t be the best idea if you’re planning to avoid it.

Yeah, that’s one of the reasons why I don’t like him. He was cruel to Priscilla, ignores Saint, took uncle Henry away from us and made us think Athena was dead. The guy just loves to mess with our family. My MC can’t stand him but recognizes it’s vital that she works with him.

I just wish he wasn’t our father. Poseidon was so sweet at his reveal and it seemed like he really loved Priscilla unlike Zeus who just thought of her as his propriety.

I do like Poseidon as dad.

How the hell do you think journal entries my character hasn’t read are going to sway his opinion?

So far the psychic power to know out of character information is not one of the MC’s powers.

He’s not Deadpool. Although that would be fun. “You were a much better dad to Kevin Serbo!”

We have… Hestia… Hades depending on the version… Artemis?

Fictional giant brother.

We do hear of titans as the golden age…

On one hand I like Poseidon and Hades, my uncle’s are amazing, dead ones more than others, but great nonetheless, but Zeus is going to be my father, (since bone daddy isn’t an option anymore) because it gives me a full brother and I get to be a punchline to a cosmic joke, as we have the modern power of birth control.

Whelp, I’m just going to chime in myself and my own opinions about the whole father deal.

Now, I do personally hope that Poseidon will still be a available option as alternative father for the Bearer. It’s true that Zeus himself does have possible the strongest connection to Priscilla out of the three male Gods of the Trinity and having him be the one who sires a being whose power could likely rival his own brings up some interesting parallels to how Cronus had too ended up siring the King of the Gods and how that ended up being one of the things to cause the old Titan’s downfall.

However, I find the thought of seeing how Zeus would interact with a Bearer who is not his child just as interesting as seeing Hera’s own possible interaction to a Bearer who is not one of Zeus’ Demigods (yet who he may still have an interest in). Like yeah, Zeus may have managed to have a child with Priscilla at the end, but it ends up being Poseidon who sired the Bearer themselves. I can’t even begin to imagine how Zeus probably felt about one of his brothers being the one who fathered the Bearer instead of himself or even how he’d handle his interactions with the Bearer when they are not his child (which, in a way, gives him a less strong footing with the Bearer since he has no familial ties with them; only their half-brother Saint would have a family connection to them).

And in Poseidon’s case, we have a God who is possibly the most neutral and the most indecisive toward the Bearer being the father of (and in general, if we’re being honest), but also possibly one of the more genuine Gods of the Twelve. It’d be interesting to see how he handles being the parent of the child who is heavily linked to the prophecy that has all the other Gods/Goddesses on edge and how that indecisiveness might cause some issues further down the road.

Either way, the most interesting thing about the Bearer having the choice to have one of the two fathers, is seeing how either Poseidon or Zeus handle the idea of family and how they might be affected by a Bearer who happens to be their child and how differently the two Gods may react to them compared to if the Bearer isn’t their child.

Also, breaking news from the Children of the Gods tumblr: @Rohie has just confirmed that Sage was, in fact, being a little flirty with the Bearer if they choose the Allure option during her new introduction. :grinning:

In all seriousness, Zeus could stand to have a few hits to his ego. I approve

I’ll admit, that’s probably one of the things I’d love see happen with Zeus in regards to a Poseidon Bearer: The King of the Gods getting knocked down a few pegs by not being the one to be the father of possibly the most unique Hero Candidate involved in the Trials.

Of course, this is assuming that the Bearer not being his child would effect him at all. There’s always that chance that not only would the King of the Gods be indifferent about the matter since the Gods still get the Bearer in the end and he may even still have enough of an ego to see the Bearer has something akin to his possession, regardless of who their father is (heck, he might even feel this way because he could be thinking that Poseidon isn’t capable of handling being the father of the Bearer the ‘right’ way).

Fish dad for the win, absolutely :fish:

I do wonder about that. What made the Age of Titans all that great? Seems like there were a lot of wars going on…

The Greeks definitely had the idea that ignorance was bliss, and that even though thought and philosophy elevated humankind, it easily led to suffering. In fact, the concept of suffering wasn’t even introduced to mankind until the gods indirectly gave it to us with Pandora’s Box.

Plus, the Titans largely ignored humans, unlike the gods who were all about meddling. The transition from the Silver Age to the Bronze Age was when the gods went from actively guiding humankind to simply throwing tantrums when they don’t get their way, and killing people in the process.

I am forever bitter tuna dad was taken away from us.

We could have had it all
But now we’re stuck with Zeus.

@lovinglydull ah, so the golden age was for the humans. Gotcha.

The Golden Age for the gods themselves has some overlap. It was the comparatively short period between defeating the Titans and humans getting fire, back when we didn’t bother them.

I like the looks of that!

Mood of 2k18 to be honest

Also I hope we get more interactions with Saint. Especially a follow up for why he decided to drop the bro bomb early – which imo I think isn’t necessarily a bad one – and what not
