I can see three possible ways of using Poseidon’s stick:
Strength: Stabbity-stab 
Wit: Staff as magic conduit 
Allure: Pole-dancing for distraction tactics

I have a sudden urge to misuse that spear, but I’m not sure I should listen to it…
I can just hear the conversation between the group and a magic-inclined Bearer:
Calypso: Wait, do you even know how to use a spear? 
Bearer: Barely; I’m a mage, not a warrior. 
Sage: Then why’d you take it with you? 
Bearer: (Completely sarcastic) I figured I could use it for pole dancing. You know, to pass the time. 
Sage: What. 
Santiago: (Dies of laughter) 
Seriously, can you just imagine the group’s expressions if the Bearer used the spear for that Allure option? Or the Gods, if they’re watching from Trial somehow?

Imagine same dialogue but with a Viagra pill as weapon… No one could beat the awesome pill as a weird uses weapon
I’m really hoping the Bearer can crack a few jokes about their weapon because the pill and spear really are a gold mine for them.
I’m not sure what jokes can be made about the gun though.

I just got an image in my head of the MC getting bored in the group, so they absentmindedly start singing the opening lines to ‘You Give Love A Bad Name’ by Jon Bon Jovi. The only problem is they’re the only ones who grew up on Earth rather than Olympus, so as soon as they murmur ‘shot through the heart’ Sage will probably body-slam them to the ground and hold the machete to their throat, thinking that the MC is trying to shoot her before taunting her first, and she starts spitting rage-filled insults and trying to kill the MC while the group barely holds her back and the MC is genuinely baffled as to why she’s suddenly trying to kill them.

I picture his face in his hands, trying not to groan, and the other Gods snickering at the dry humor being spouted.
Maybe some of the others in the group can make remarks about whether the gun is compensating for something else…

I was commenting about how surprisingly up to date the Gods’s arsenal are,I mean,if it’s a crossbow than I won’t be surprised, and how the gun is such an unfair advantage, but considering that :
And that there’s a pill as an option for Zeus’s child, I guess I can’t really question that.
Secretly imagine Sage blocking or slicing the bullet, samurai style!
The gods represent western civilization. They could have given each of the contestants nukes 
In the original draft of this chapter, everyone was going to get sticks. Just sticks. Maybe a branch, if you were lucky.

I’m trying to picture how Sage could threaten harm on the Bearer with a stick. The only effect I can see is the pain their sides would get from laughing too hard.

Give me the stick!! And get the pill in a heartbeat! A stick is still resembling a weapon so nobody would laugh about my weapon in the group. The power of a weapon is not only the actual force it has , The power it seems have is equally important . Like in Mad Max saga Max was using a weapon without bullets all film in the second or in the first I just can’t remember. It uses it as a intimidating tool against people and get what he wants. I have the allure to use a weapon that way but a pill has zero intimidating power!

Well, as far as I am concerned, a spear is just a fancy stick with a sharp end! Unless the spear suddenly becomes retractable and possibly pocket-sized, then it becomes a toothpick!
I’ll be in the corner now, probably laughing at any Poseidon child with no strengh, because the hilarity of their very existence is endless!
Ooh, use it to cook marshmallows 
then have a group camp out with the gang and your RO sitting right next to you under the moon…
Eh, we just got more strength of will…We will raise that stupid stick with mere willpower, just wait!
Or we just throw it with magic…We will magic-wield the spear.
