Hello Heroes!

Welcome to the WIP of the next part of Dawn of Heroes! This story follows a new main character (MC) who finds themselves in an odd hotel with little memory of how they got there. Now they are forced to relive this day in a fight to survive while a killer is on the loose.

This is not a traditional superhero story; it’s a survival murder mystery of a character who will become a superhero.

Carousel Paradox is a much shorter story than Dawn of Heroes. This demo currently goes to Chapter 4, and I estimate that the story will be about 15-17 chapters long. Updates won’t be as often since I plan to release several chapters at a time for updates.

Characters/NPCs
The Family

Mom - The MCs mother is a concerned parent who cares deeply about her children.

Dad - The glue of the household. A stubborn—but caring—man who is always willing to lend an ear and his opinion.

Paris - The protective and loyal older sister.

Oliver - The lazy and angsty younger brother.

Hotel Guests

Kay (Kei) - Another teen on the grounds. Romanceable for all.

Pricilla - A mysterious, curious, and supportive guest who is often spotted reading.

Lucas - A guest who first appears locked out of his room.

Wedding Party

Anabelle – Bride-to-be for Frank. Reserved, kind, and playful.

Camilla Omura – The groom’s stepmother. Aloof and lush.

Franklin (Frank) Omura – The groom to Anabelle. Older son of Ken. Tall, strong, and charming.

Hugo – Best friend and best man to Frank.

Ken Omura – The owner of the estate.

Sanji Omura – Ken’s father. Retired owner of the estate. Practices Shinto.

Yuji Omura – Youngest son of Ken. A student of Shinto philosophy. Kind and tact.

Estate and Hotel Staff

Diane – Estate’s head chef.

Huey – Groundskeeper of the estate.

Jane – Estate maid.

Winsten – Buttler and House Manager to the estate.

FAQs

This FAQ section will be built as questions come up.

How many Romancable Characters will be in this story?
Due to the nature of the plot, I can justify only one. I do plan to expand this MC’s options in future installments.

When will the MC get powers?
This MC won’t get powers for about the first 3/4th of the story. This story is more about solving the mystery than overcoming villains.

What kind of powers will the MC get?
I will talk more about the possible powers in future updates.

nice! i liked dawn of heroes,was a solid 6-7/10 for me,good to see you’re writing more on it. hope you dont mind me asking but are the powers we can get similar to the dawn of heroes where its pretty much any power from all types like speed,strength,mind reading and such or its going to be a limited set like one element?

Nothing you can read. It’s only a couple of coding things in the background.

:slight_smile: I did put in the FAQs that I’d discuss this later. For a quick overview, there will be some overlap with physical powers like strength, speed, and toughness. However, this new MC won’t have mind-reading, telekinesis, or other such powers. They will have a different set of options—for better or for worse.

Hey I’m glad to see the sequel up! Gonna read it at some point but the plot already looks interesting :slight_smile:

I wanted to ask if this story acts as a prequel, since the near end is where the MC gets their powers, or a sequel. I remember some plot threads in book one, which I won’t say cus idk how to spoil/hide text, which I can imagine would allow for this story to be after that one.

Oh also when we play the third game I just wanted to ask if the POV will be split between the MC and Sidekick or if you choose who to play in sections?

For this type “[” then the word “spoiler” then end with “]” Then to end it you do “[/” the word “spoiler”, then end with “]”. Also, there is a + symbol in a circle next to the emoji button. If you click on that, you’ll see several options, one of them being blur spoiler.

I would not call it a prequel.

It’ll be split most of the time. There will be some options to choose who to play, but most of the time it’ll split the time when plot relevant.
