BREACH: The Archangel Job - (Released! | Discussion) New Discord

This is actually something you can learn in game so huge spoilers. The trio has been speciffically keeping an eye on the MC. Gabriel knows about the MC more than they know about themselves. Later near the end of the game, he will mention that he knows who the MC’s parents are, and that he has a promise to keep.

I like where this is going, I can’t wait to put their whole gang to jail and see how they like it lol.

Oh yeah on that point… there is no way Gabriel doesn’t know that the MC is a cop if you choose that specific route so I can’t wait to see what is going to happen with that.

Oh the last chapter will be quite the surprise for you.

Hahaha, I can’t wait. Is there an approximate release date we can look forward to?

I honestly have no clue… it’s all in the hands of the HG staffs now

Thanks for your time, let’s hope it doesn’t take too long.

@MichaelMaxwell How much detail is the magic in your dnd style game has. is it simply like you cast fireball and blow people up or can we choose a class and customize things like combining wind and fire magic to make a flame tornado or use portals to assist companions in attacking monsters like doctor strange and spiderman fighting thanos

@Reaper_General it’s not a class as much as it is an optional subclass.

In my next game, Afar: Mad World, magic works in a sort of mana sort of way. I’ll give you the short version. There’s a natural liquid found in the world called Eema, it grants people, animals, plants and even the terrain itself magical powers. Eema can generally be distilled into three forms, red, blue, yellow, and green, each with their own set of focused and specialised spells.

Clever uses of spells will be a thing, alongside the usage of potions, scrolls, and other magic users, mainly due to the fact that the creatures in the game are not your everyday DnD monsters. They are much more extreme and working alone can mostly mean certain death (Though not impossible).

I’ll try my best to give the MCs as much freedom as I did with Breach, though I’m honestly dialling it down a bit because I wish to break this game down into three parts as well, though unlike Breach, each part will be it’s own sort of complete and independent story.

(sorry if this is not a acceptable question to ask in the forum.)

What do you use for inspiration when writing

do you reread the lotr, wheel of time. or play Magic The Gathering

(Magic: The Gathering: Rise of the Gatewatch: A Visual History - Wizards of the Coast - Google BĆøker)

That is a very good and acceptable question, for me.

For Breach: The Archangel Job, the inspiration comes from a lot of games including the Payday franchise, the GTA franchise, and then movies like Ocean’s Elven and Thirteen, Heat, Inside Man, and a whole lot other movies and games.

As for Afar: Mad World, I know this sounds weird but I actually took inspiration from the game itself. It’s based off of a series of D&D game that me and my DM have been running for the past 8 or so years and have gone through numerous story archs and have built up quite the amount of lore play after play. The game takes place in a microcontinent called ā€œTrebantabooā€.

As for what Trebantaboo is inspired from it originally started out as a Fantasy Borderlands Mad Max type of game which turned into it’s own thing with a whole lot of weird factions, backgrounds, histories, and monsters that would give even a CR20 D&D monster the willies. I took a lot of inspiration from a lot of games and movies but mainly Borderlands and Mad Max alongside a whole lot of Tabletop RPGs including Pathfinder and D&D and even Shadowrun at times.

And when I’m feeling a bit cheeky I’ll also take inspiration from Monty Python and the Holy Grail or possibly any of the Blackadder series.

Now, people will butcher me for this, but I’ve never read much of any work of fiction, I’ve always wanted to but I never got around to them. Though I have been listening to a lot of audiobooks lately for Harry Potter and Game Of Thrones and A Clash of Kings and a few others.

However, I do play Magic The Gathering, eventhough I’m not good at it.

Wow thats cool
and using Monty phython as inspiration/ideas is a bloody good choice

I just had the craziest theory. Now what if WHAT IF!!! Hear me out now… what if Gabriel or the MC is a figment of that persons imagination. Like our MC isn’t really real and it’s just Gabriel making him up in his head. As if creating a whole another identity to cope with being Gabriel.

Now I know it’s probably most definitely not true and stupid but you never know… Gabriel could be the MC the entire time or well I guess vice verse… I mean… it explains why when the MC dies he simply respawns… same for when Gabriel gets close to death but still stays strong. Because Gabriel/our MC won’t allow the other ā€œidentityā€ to die. HMMM

The only thing that is absolutely correct about that is this

I love hearing other people’s theories as to who Gabriel is or who the MC is :joy:

This Demo low key made me want to reinstall and play Payday 2 again. My biggest complaint with the game though is the amount of damns DLCs on it that I dont have. That said, it has one of the best game soundtracks I’ve ever heard. lol

So many hundreds of hours… Grinding… Replaying Shadow Raid over and over again because once you’re detected it’s all over… Robbing the big bank, defending loot on a rooftop waiting for a plane to pick up the loot a-la-futon style while we get surrounded by a firing line of cops and snipers (And then the plane misses the damn balloon) … Spending hours upon hours strategizing both in and out of school, discussing what perks to unlock… I remember the first time I saw a skull dozer… It pains me to see it’s all over, my friends haven’t been online on steam in years now… To put it in perspective I played when the Clover DLC was considered new. And the Hoxton Breakout update was the highlight of one of my weekends.

Oh, and the drill. Fuck the drill.

This forum topic is the only thing keeping me from having a full on mental breakdown until the game comes out.:upside_down_face:

Also big props to Michael, this man has created a full-on game using choicescript and manages to read our posts and balance a new project at the same time.:two_hearts:
