I really wasn’t sure why we would ever freak out. It wasn’t like he was claiming to be a Greek monster or Titan or Chronos. Aside from knowing what his domain has been, there was no real context for why MC would be mad or scared. Or why Charon would be afraid if others knew. Especially a sheltered MC with no real contact outside mom’s manor.
Not like he personally killed my firstborn child or something. I was glad later for the option to tell Hades that my friends are who they are now, regardless of their past.
But I would have loved the most bland answer at his reveal to be. “Oh? Ok.”
Well, the option is there for particularly pacifistic PCs. I don’t expect that a lot of people will pick it, but it’s in the game for those who will.
As for Charon, it’s a part of their life that has brought them a lot of pain, and they did some things in that capacity that they very much aren’t proud of. Having an instinct for violence is not something they enjoy about themself, and there’s a fear that others will reject them for it.
The reveal didn’t give the whole story, as it were. There are other details that matter, but those are mostly saved for their route.
I see. I got that much. It’s definitely a past that left him with pain and struggles. Just not sure why I would hate him over that when he’s been an amazing friend since my MC’s arrival to the underworld. And both men were so shocked that my MC didn’t care. Lol
Other note, I love how my MC goes from sweet and forgiving to “maximum sentence! Hang them!” when ppl insult or hurt his hubby and his underworld family. Like, those two demigods would have got a light slap if they apologized. But no, they chose to piss off several gods (and one overprotective demigod) instead of one goddess.
I’m pleased to announce that Blood of the Living’s public demo has now been updated to include the entirety of Chapter Three, adding a rather large 157,000 words to the game, bringing its total current wordcount to 277,000-ish.
Some features of this new update:
See (or don’t) Demeter
Talk with (or don’t) Iasion, with or without Demeter
Spend some alone time with your RO/PO
This chapter is quite branched, depending on the route you chose in the last game, as many of them will be from here forward. I hope you enjoy potentially-awkward family dynamics and a bit of downtime with the characters.
Oh my goodness, I love the new (third) chapter, I love all the cuteness between Demi (teehee ) and Isa and between Hades, Makaria and MC (and yes, Hades is my all-time-favourite RO here )
Ah, apologies; I’d forgotten to fix that here. The first post should now have it, and of course @KZV 's version here is exactly the same and will also function (thanks for that!)
I’m afraid I’m not sure what’s going on with that; you may want to ask in the CoGDemos thread. The save stuff is all handled by them, rather than the writers. Sorry you’re having trouble, but I’m glad you’re enjoying the demo!
Hi, everybody. Chapter four is now available to be played here. (The link has changed, hopefully for the final time, and the one at the top of the thread is also correct.)
Thank you so much for your hard work! I didn’t expect a sequel so soon and I’m love, love, loving it so far. Hades is the loml I can’t even play other routes I’m very excited to see in this new book that we have more romantic interactions with him. Honestly, he gives me sub energy and I really want to spoil him
