“20 combat weapons.”
I know which one to add now.

But seriously, a marked mc probably won’t have even a speck of diplomacy in him and will probably have to fight constantly to entertain the god of war lest he take his soul

He’ll resurrect you no matter your martial skills. Though, he will require… hmm, some entertainment,
correct. Perhaps a few shrines in his name? But nothing like good ol’ massacre.

the only shrine a true god of war needs is the battlefield

True enough. That’s why you can hire 200 men mercenary company. Ally with Lord Kotor. Get the gear of the White Knight.

if the mc proves entertaining can ludite raise him to become a demi-god as a reward?

Viton, the God of Death is the strongest of them all in gods. Ludite is the youngest god whilst being most experimental. He is least liked and I doubt he’d be capable or willing to do such an act even if you’re in good terms. However, perhaps after the MC dies peacefully, with the kingdom reunited, he will earn his place in Ludite’s Realm.

I’m not talking about a place in the court of the gods, I’m talking about immortality and incredible strength to impose ludite’s will, the mc is already a pawn in the cruel game for domination between the gods, but at least he’ll be a powerful one

plus I doubt you’ll get a place in the god of war’s court by dying peacefully, you’ll either have to die fighting or drown in the blood of your enemies

Ah, I had misunderstood what you meant: that is what the Battleborne trait represents. Supernatural abilities of a bloodthirsty warrior without any limits, a dreaded fighter on the battlefield and a respected knight in court. You don’t have to necessarily die fighting if you spent your whole life clashing. If your character manages to sit atop the throne and die peacefully whilst his/her dynasty goes on, it will be considered a perfect ending, earning you an eternal spot at a realm of whichever divine you serve.

but you can’t become a bloodthirsty maniac who slaughters everyone he meets to please his god ?
Well that’s a shame

If you want to drop down to that fanatical level, I am sure I can think of something. If you’re sacrificing people to Ludite and all that. You’re also forgetting one thing: The King is a martialist. He can serve the god as well, so Ludite will have to play favorites to strengthen his own dominance and authority over Ezaelia.

ludite probably won’t care about nobility as much as martial prowess and one’s ability to wreak havoc

But nobility has a better ability to wreak havoc. How can a 50 men militia “army” weak havoc compared to a 20 thousand professionally trained soldiers under the command of an experienced leader who is also the most skilled warrior in all of Ezaelia?
The odds aren’t in the MC’s favor.

maybe strike another deal with ludite to grant the mc his armies ?

That’d be awfully generous of Ludite for absolutely no reason: why would he want to gamble and take the chances? How is he so sure that a 16 year old new, unexperienced leader will be able to defeat an adult man renowned for winning many tournaments, who also fought his way to the bloody throne. The MC’s fate is pretty much left in in his/her own hands and some luck. One deal is already too much for Ludite. Another means he’s putting all the power he’s built up on a pawn likely to lose the game of chess.

there’s no accounting for the will of gods, plus even if the king were to somehow beat the heavenly army, what would he do ? Wage war on a God ?
