Beta test the new version of our Android app

Navigated to the HG stats screen and back and the text started going right to the top of the screen (annoying because that’s where my camera is so I can’t read the middle word). Restarted HG and it was fine for a bit but happened again after a time.

No complaints yet with dark mode, and it’s nice having font options. Looks much sleeker.

Just first try of the Android Beta, but when I have the screen set to white or sepia, it’s very hard to see the time/battery because they show in white font. Against the white background.

Mine looks fine — perhaps it’s device-specific? On my Xiaomi:

Edit: Played around some, in my case the bar is readable as long as the app theme matches the system theme. If system is in light mode and you set the app to dark, you’ll get dark grey text on a black background and so forth.

I do have one new question/observation: what’s going on with the “Similar Games” section on each game’s page? Before this, the “Similar Games” section always started with any other games in the same series, then any other games by the same author, before going on to include other games (probably based on genre?) Now it doesn’t include other games in the same series or other games by the same author. I think it actually makes more sense that way, since it’s already possible to see the rest of the series or the author’s other work by clicking on the series name or author name. But just in case it wasn’t actually a deliberate choice, I thought I should mention it.

We’ve put “Similar Games” back the way it was. (We think this will make it easier for newbies to find other games in the same series.)

@GreekWinter @LordSpecter Were you ever able to try signing in on a newer beta? (Even if it fails, it should automatically log some errors that I can use to investigate.)

I just bought Wizard Confidential on the beta CoG app and went to open it on the browser, but it says I don’t own it there (every other game I own is listed when I login to CoG, either on the browser or on the app, it’s just this new one missing on the browser).

Playing a demo on my tablet I noticed a couple of oddities; in portrait mode, I can scroll down even when the page text is short enough that there’s nothing else to display below the cut. The space for the ad is also blank (this displayed fine in my phone).

I just downloaded the new update (v3.2.1 (84)) and have been playing through Hyuga Book 1 and 2 and the app will force-close in the middle of playing. It doesn’t seem to be connected to picking a choice or scrolling. Let me know if there are any other troubleshooting/tests I can do to give you information.

I’m so sorry about this, but I accidentally snuck in a last-minute major performance bug in v3.2.1.

I’ve submitted CoG 5.2.2, HC 4.2.2, and HG 3.2.2 to Google. Beta testers should have access in a few hours.

There’s a lot of blank space at the top of thr credits page for some reason. Was that intentional?
