Oh yeah, I forgot about that.
@Miguel_Andrei Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it! I’m trying to make the next update be only the final intermission. So shorter and hopefully coming out in less than 2 years, which includes locking in romances! The game plan is to eventually figure out how to submit it into hosted games.
@Dragomer Believe it or not, the game was originally called Mutant Academy, which didn’t help with that issue I believe any lack of interest may resolve around expecting a super hero game or academy games being an acquired taste. I do want to post occasional progress updates on the game as I work on it so that the thread doesn’t get closed early. I love seeing the varying opinions on Chase and people talking about the story!
That’s nice, the author being active on the thread is always cool!
Random thought: Maybe naming the Academy after the gas or whatever that created the mutants would confuse people less?
Or maybe some pun or founder with a cool name?
Those are good ideas! The only problem is that future titles are going to replace ‘academy’ with another word and keep ‘Anti-Mutant’ as the main focus point of the series. I can take time to work around that though, or incorporate it differently for the sake of better story representation. Maybe next update’s poll can involve choosing between different title names and I’ll go with the popular decision all of you choose.
Any more name suggestions to include in the meantime are appreciated!
It’s a tad lengthy, but maybe “Anti-Mutant Apocalypse Academy”? You’ve got the alliteration which is catchy to some and including apocalypse in the title may stop people from imagining something like X-Men (modern society with mutants).
I really like that actually! Maybe a different variation of that could solve the length problem, like “Anti-Mutant: Apocalyptic Academy” or something. I’ll add that to the choices, thanks for the suggestion!
Oh, that’s a good one.
There’s been a glaring issue ever since the very first post of this game. Readers are confusing this game’s plot with X-men due to the academy and mutant parts of the title! So I’ve been braining storming along with some of you to find a good name for what this first game represents.
I would greatly appreciate if you picked any of your favorite titles, and I will choose the one with the most votes for the next update!
Some things to keep in mind:
-Anti-Mutant Academy will be an option if you think the title should remain the same.
-Nevel is dutch for mist, the origin of mutants.
-Arecala is the three sectors Ariston, Beck, and Crastala mixed together.
-The second poll is for if you chose any of the last 4 options. Do you think it’s best to add “Anti-Mutant:” before the name or leave it as it is with just the name of the academy?
Thanks!
- Anti-Mutant Academy
- Anti-Mutant Institution
- Anti-Mutant Educational Institution
- Mutant Extermination Academy
- Anti Mutant Apocalypse Academy
- Anti Mutant: Apocalyptic Academy
- Nevel Academy
- Gallandor Academy
- Arecala Academy
- None of these
- Add “Anti-Mutant:” to title
- Leave only the name of the academy
???
People can come for the title and stay for the story. Anti mutant is a good title. If not for anti mutant title go for just " Chase ! "
I kind of want to see “None Of These” as a title now.
Normally yes mutant is synonymous with people with power or some sort of superhero.
I would suggest changing the Anti mutant part to something more eye-catching.
The title doesn’t need to reveal what inside the story, all it need is to connect in someway. like “After the end” (Suggesting life after big event) Or “Reclamation” (Somewhat suggesting humanity trying to reclaim what was lost)
Also change the name of monster, mutant sound so mundane, it’s art of sales put wacky name to something mediocre, for example anti fungus change to fungicide same meaning but fungicide definitely sound menacing and not mouthful.
Very odd for chase to be saying that and let me say that I love Casen and his denseness im so excited to see the development
@JoshiYinmith Hahaha, good point!!
@LiliArch The real challenge is choosing between “None of these” and “Anti-Mutant: None of These”
@G_Kagara That is a good point, especially about mutants. It’ll be a difficult change this late in the game, but I’ll keep different monster names in mind for a potential second draft change!
@Lonily Typo fixed! Very happy to hear about Casen, lots of story left for him to grow!
Not many people on this forum are gonna come for an anti-X-men game tho.
I think now is a good time to close the poll, it looks like we’re sticking with Anti-Mutant Academy to the bitter end together. Thank you to everyone who voted!
I have an idea, how about changing the Topic name, I notice like other topic they include the title and snippet of what story it is.
Like :
Aura Clash : Eastern Fantasy | adventure | martial arts
The Abyssal : play as death itself.
Phoenix Rising | Imperial Chinese Harem Political intrigue
Knight of Venus Mech -Wip.
May want to add something for visibility.
Like Anti Mutant Academy | Post apocalyptic story | Survival
Maybe?
Very good idea, I’ll add that!
Maybe ‘Post-Apocalyptic School Adventure’ or ‘Harry Potter-inspired Post Apocalypse Adventure’?
Does the game even count as ‘post apocalypse’? Humanity seems to be mostly back on it’s feet. It would be more like post-post apocalypse, no? Like there was an apocalypse but civilization is back, even if diminished.
I think it still count as post apocalyptic, like fallout, God Eater or other title it is still pretty much post apocalyptic even thought there is settlement, some progress on technology and thriving community in the world, Humanity is still recovering/trying to reclaim what was lost.
In this story humanity is confined in sporadic fortress city, outside the city basically still wild and hostile.
