Animations in a text based game

Hi,

I was wondering to what extend one would be ‘breaching’ the traditional text-based game by adding animations? There would still be text, description of the area, situation etc. to read and choice to make. Only certain visuals would be added.
Right now I am working on a project, it’s still very much in testing fase. What I am looking to add are animations like this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ev8ZAlmkmNA (bear in mind that it’s just a test though!). EDIT: beware the hawk! I was messing around with adding sounds and more ‘moving’ background images.
Does Choice of Games support adding these animations in any sort of way? As in, is it even possible to add these, on a technical level?

You should be able to put in animated gifs. Including images is not fully supported, and CoG says it’s best not to use a lot in a story. Details at http://www.choiceofgames.com/make-your-own-games/choicescript-advanced/
