im liking it so far. one thing i would recommend is, you describe the stereotypes and then immediately explain how they are wrong. that is something that would be better to be figured out later in the story. id say leave in the description as “the stereotypes about this race are…” and then some point later introduce a character that goes against it.
@russianspy1234 Reading back over what I wrote, I see what you mean and agree with you. As I write more and find places to include more information on the setting, I’ll go back over those bits and move what I can to other parts of the game. Currently they were written by taking my notes on the races and simply going down the list, jotting down everything that I felt was important. It ended up with a bit of an info dump, and I am hoping to reduce that as I continue to write and find more places to include bits of setting background.
I may have found a bug. I found it after choosing the dark club, allowing the avian women come to you, and commenting on the man who bothered her. It read: {message: “line 801:Invalid expression, couldn\'t extract another token: #\ “I couldn\'t help but watch the way you move.” You said with a smile.” ,line 1806expressinBeginoffset:59863,expressoinEndoffset: 59955, sourceId: 69597584, source URL: “http://roafiles.webs.com/scene.js”}
Recently I’ve had a lot of real life problems, including my back acting up again and my fricken’ internet going down (again), on top of some good (if time consuming) things, like helping my wife get ready to go to college. However, I should be back to writing… tomorrow… or maybe the next day (so much to do T_T ).
@Aritour Thank you for your help in error checking. I now what I believe to be the error fixed in my personal file. I’ll be update the site soon. I’ve really gotta get on the ball with error checking before I put these things out. -_-;
So how are things turning out since I really enjoyed the beta you had. Hopefully your back and other problems will get better.
I too eagerly await the update. I managed to go further this time as the error I encounter is fixed. I have no real new input on the story yet, have to wait for the next round. Great job as always.
Yeah good job. Im also waiting for the next part of the story before i put in my input about the plot.
Oh, wow, thanks. That actually makes me feel really good. I haven’t really felt good enough (physically or emotionally) to write more than a few lines here or there recently, but I think you’ve guys have inspired me. I’m going to get crackin’ on it tonight, and I’ll finish up the character generation and post it. Thanks for the support.
Reaperoa you have given me such good advice on my game, I am looking forward to all you write.
Quite good!
Question: Hem can you tell us a quick description of what the stats will be?
Encountered an error if you chose the fancy club, and then attempt to get a bottle of water an error pops up
@Player Oh yea, you didn’t see it originally, the stats are:
-Attributes (Fairmath): Fitness, Intelligence, Charisma, Willpower
-Skills (Fairmath): Perception, Technology, Freefall, Stealth, Persuasion, Intimidation, Melee, Guns
-Perks:
Language: English (Automatic), Japanese, ISCL (Sign Language), So’aree (Alien Language), Kikther (Alien Language)
Cyber: Noncyber (Hardmode only? I haven’t decided), Cyberarm (Left/Right), Cybereyes, Cybercomm
Other: Medic (Trained Paramedic), Investigator (PI/Detective)
-Note: The above are implemented in so far as they are actually in the system (currently there is no way to get most of the perks, obviously). I intend to include a few other perks, such as Aerospace Engineer, but haven’t completely drawn them up yet. If you have ideas on things you’d like to see, feel free to contribute them.
I decided to set the ban on seeing the stat screen until character completion because the way I’m tracking stat’s makes them jump around a whole lot early on (Basically, unlike the current ChoiceScript games, you starting choices decide your starting attributes en-masse, or at least that’s the idea (I haven’t fully implemented it), and so there are choices which don’t affect your stats until after some other choice is made.
Example: Choosing the choice that makes you weaker (Such as intelligence is more important that strength) will set a non-numeric variable, then choosing something that would make you stronger (such as your father was a military man and pushed you to the limits physically) may increase your fitness then reduce your Fitness based on the first variable (Say Fitness start: 50, first choice sets ‘maincharacteristic to intelligence’, second choice sets fitness +20 then and ‘if maincharacteristic = intelligence set fitness -30’ overall result of choices: Fitness: 40)
@JimD Thanks, I just hope it can stand up to the popularity of yours :p.
@Toa_Onarax can you include the choices you made after the party choice?
Well I got a cybercom then asked kist to a dance.
Oh and this is just an idea but what if on hard mode you had a cyber heart which constantly runs the risk of failure. For the profession there should also be scientist and something related to being able to fly well.
I love this game already, can’t wait for the finished product. Keep It up
Fly a ship I mean.
@Toa_Onarax Thanks. Bug has been found and squashed. I’m starting to realize that I have no fricken clue how to use *else commands, 'cause they always cause problems for me. About the heart: I don’t think I’ll include that as one of the ‘main’ options, but I think I’ll see if I can include it as a side option (If at the end of character generation you have an extremely low ‘Fitness’ you can choose it, so long as you haven’t chosen ‘Noncyber’. As for the professions, I’ll consider them, but with the current storyline I’m having some trouble thinking of places in which they would be useful. If we come to a point where you can point out where something like that may be useful in the storyline, feel free to tell me, as I can always add it back in later.
@BBuster Thanks!
Random question but how do you pronounce Æon.
I’ve been pronouncing it “aeon” no promises that isn’t completely wrong though.
@Toa_Onarax Using Æon is just a stylistic choice over aeon/eon.
I like this game already and I haven’t even seen the ship yet. Can’t wait for more!
