What would be the email address to request to be a beta tester? Or does it have to do with the status of your profile?
You have to request admission to the specific beta you’d like to work on. Go to the announcement for the beta you’re interested in, read the post carefully, and do what it says.

Thanks for the advice but my specific problem is that I’m not sure if the beta tester post specifically says which email to write my request to. Where does it usually say that? 
Every post they make asking for beta testers includes the email address.
