I have one bug i think i noticed. At the first fight after gettsburg the piper creek one. If i chose to get the regimental reserve then i both get it fast and it takes time. I was not able to upload to screenshot but i copied the text on the page. I played with new regiment with skirmish focus and improves my strategy and tactics at every opportunity
The reserve is your last card, and it is worth everything if you spend it on the right ground at the right moment and nothing if you misjudge either. It all turns on your read of where this breach is truly tearing, and whether you call them in time to matter. “Runner! To the reserve!” you shout as the Confederate lieutenant vaults the breastwork. Private Wilson acknowledges with a crisp nod, immediately ducking low and sprinting toward the regimental rear where Companies C and K wait in reserve.
You quickly calculate that the runner should reach the reserve position in under two minutes, with reinforcements arriving five minutes after that, if they respond immediately. Your men must hold until then.
Meanwhile, Sergeant Lynch steps into the breach with a handful of veterans, his bayonet catching the rebel officer mid-lunge. The Confederate crumples, and your men form a hasty defensive cluster that momentarily stabilizes the most vulnerable section of your line.
“Hold them just a little longer!” you encourage your men, firing your revolver with careful precision at the most threatening targets. Your controlled leadership prevents panic from spreading as men realize reinforcements are coming.
The response is remarkably swift. Captain Walton’s Company C appears within minutes, deploying at the double to strike the Confederate breakthrough at its most vulnerable point.
“Hold them just a little longer!” you encourage your men, firing your revolver to drop another rebel scrambling over the earthworks. The close-quarters fighting becomes a desperate struggle of individual combats: bayonets thrusting, rifle butts swinging, men grappling chest-to-chest in primal struggle.
Your position continues to deteriorate under relentless pressure, men falling back in increasingly disordered fashion as Confederate soldiers establish footholds along your line.
After minutes that stretch like hours, the disciplined tramp of reinforcements rises above the battle’s roar. Captain Walton’s Company C emerges through the smoke, their fresh strength a desperately needed counter to the Confederate breakthrough.
“Form on the right!” Walton’s voice carries as his men deploy into line, delivering a devastating volley into the flank of Confederate soldiers who’ve breached your position. The rebel advance hesitates, caught by surprise by this unexpected resistance.
Your scattered companies use this opportunity to rally, men responding to sergeants’ commands as they consolidate around the reserve’s stable core.
Through gaps in the smoke, you catch glimpses of the larger battle. Colonel Preston stands with the regimental colors, his uniform now bloodied from fresh wounds yet still directing the defense. Harrington coordinates between companies, attempting to restore cohesion to the fragmented line.
