Woo! Power to the mages!

Loving every bit given we have returned from the ashes once more like a phoenix and can be a real life phantom in real time! Well Saine kind of ruined the surprise but would have been nice. Get to see how much he cared and pranking!

We need this as an option!!! Pranks! Lots of them!

Well if we ever meet again we might be able to fool leon, that we are a zombie/corspe or if we meet again on the battlefield we can just cast illusions on him

You’re right about that. Maybe he’ll still be gullible. Spirit magic and even haunting alchemy clouds of smoke but spirit magic definitely get to cast illusions! Geez my mage would be a little stinker laying random traps or being stuck to chairs and illusions not to forget glue and feathers! Got to add to the pranks. Rotten eggs hidden away too! Doodles on the face! I need pranks in my life!

“If he didn’t decide chances are the people would have done something about it and Leon might would have been on the chopping block too.”

“What may have seem mysterious was nothing more than a husk filled with fear”

It’s fine if you headcanon him as some tortured soul and i know you want me to emphatize with him but i what i got from this is that he is weak willed, insecure, easily manipulated, have woe is me mentality and abandon his friend to the mob to save himself. Im pretty sure he is not like that, but defending his decisions, you made him like one.

I dont have anything against Leon. What happened to Leon is due to poor writing choices.

I mean, you’re not wrong that he IS all those things, but we can’t pretend like the pressure wasn’t real. It’s easy enough for Ilya and Saine to stick up for the mage because they aren’t in real positions of power yet. Not to say their loyalty and positions at the moment didn’t hold weight, it’s just that they weren’t at the pinnacle of it all in a state heavily influenced by religion.

The author stated that had Leon NOT been king and Julius survived the attack, Leon would have been right there alongside Saine and Ilya fighting for the mage’s innocence. It IS his position in Param’s society that “forced” his hand just as it could have been the same thing that freed the mage if he really wanted. Doesn’t mean there wouldn’t be dire consequences.

There was already evidence in game that the mage was on the verge of getting put down by the church and/or the public. Like, the mage was a day away from being taken by the church and served a punishment they saw fit. Not that it makes it any better, of course, but it does show that Leon worried about their fate.

I know it’s on record that I’m an ex-Leonmancer and anti-Leon, but I’ll reiterate it again. I can’t wait to make him suffer for not sticking to his guns and abandoning the mage the second things got hairy.

Hmmmm. From what I’ve read in this thread this far it seems like people are self-inserting themselves into the story instead of seeing the mage as a separate entity/its own character hence all the unwavering hate for Leon. Me though? I’ll definitely be letting my mage go back to Leon while still acknowledging the fact that he betrayed my mage because I love some good drama and angst. I was raised on telenovelas so this is my shit🤭

Also, I’ve seen people justify going on a burn-it-all path and can I just say that that’s weird af? I get being pissed at the White Fangs for not sticking up for you or doing more to find out why tf you did a 180 and killed the saintess because they knew you personally and definitely had the tools to figure it out BUT to be mad at the entirety of Param is a bit weird. They had no reason to trust you, hero or not, and didn’t know you personally enough to be like “wait a minute this is kinda sus. let’s hold off on the BBQ for a sec and investigate.” Now, if you’re doing it for the sake of drama or angst then I’m all for it but let’s not try to justify mass genocide just because your mage’s wittle feelings got hurt lmao

I think it was mentioned in book 2 that Thalia will only make the nobles and aristocrats pay and leave the normal citizens of Param alone

Ah, yes, little victorious war, that shit always goes as planned and Tahlia is def worthy of trust and would never, say, play uno reverse card and made parami second class citizens as arcsdians are now.

Well what do u expect, the war that might or might not come is not a righteous one but is kind of a holy one considering this whole conflict started due to religion and is also has no justifications considering the war she is creating, is solely just based on supremacy and making a statement to the other nations that this is true strenght of the arcadians and is not about freeing or requesting arcardian’s freedom

They were literally burned alive while a crowd cheered and mocked.

You might’ve separated to far if you can’t understand why some mages would hate Leon and why some want to just get revenge on Param.

Oh, I don’t expect anything, it’s my personal belief that as a victor Tahlia would have every right to do what she wants to and to deal with the consequences of it. But she hurted not only my Mage’s, but also mine wittle feewings uwu, so screw her. If I can prevent her from having anything at all, I’m gonna do it.

Well that is exactly why there is a path for mc to destroy both her and piram or join the piram side which is just internally refusing to go along with their plans and at sametime doing it for now

Worth noting that Tahlia’s previous plan was “let Mireil wage a genocidal war of aggression to kill as many Parami and Salantir as possible, then blow up the capital city”

Like Tahlia is willing to use children as live bait, she is absolutely not opposed to civilian deaths

and also some of those civilians are even arcadians which will just expose the flaw in her plan and reveal her as just a blood thirsty person that just wanna rule

I think another thing that’s weird is how down played the the saintess’s murder was. I hear a lot “omg Leon burned me for no reason, he should have just waited six months to be exonerated.”

Brooooo

You committed high treason. Guilty or not you murdered someone with witnesses. The punishment in this setting is death at stake

our mc did commited a crime true but by burning us, leon showed what kind of person he is which might create doubts in the people’s heart for killing a mage responsible for his posistion as king or it secretly created people who are finally seeeing piram for what it is

Can you commit treason if you’re not a citizen?

hmmm technically the mc is considered a citizen if u forget that we took up the posistion as leon bodyguard and we never rebuked our title which was given and recognized by his brother and for a bodyguard to betray the person there are supposed to protect is a criminal offence in ancient times and this fantasy setting and also the mc was pretty much involved in the war effort and duties like that made one a citizen
