A Mage Reborn, Book Two (WIP) - UPDATED April 5th, 2025 | Book One Released!

If this conversation ever happens in-game, I dearly hope Pav gives a response option that’s just simply:

“Fucking, idiot.”

In a deadpan tone to boot.

My MC might actually give Leon multiple slaps to the face during their reunion. Those slaps are going to be very, very hard:

SLAP!

Leon: “Augh!”

MC: “This, is for you calling me a demon after everything I’ve done for you and your kingdom.”

SLAP!

MC: “This, is for that pyre you built for me!”

Leon: “Mage, I–”

SLAP!

MC: “And this, is for you letting that pest you call a ‘spymaster’ live after everything she’s done!”

Slapping him with a spiked club might be more fun.

Seriously, though, I don’t see how any mage could go back there with Ante still at Leon’s side. She has learned nothing, and she likely still has a bug up her ass about the mage and will just start the same shit again to try to get rid of the mage.

Even if my mage were willing to give Leon another chance (she’s not), it would come down to, “Either you punish Ante and banish her from this kingdom, or I’m leaving you all to your fates… you gigantic dumbass piece of shit.”

If there will be an option, my MC will kill her on the first meeting. I hope the bitch is not so important that the author would like to keep her alive until the end of the series :v

Mmm… Do you think that turning Leon into an empty brainwashed slave by magic spell would make him smarter?

I don’t think there’s hope for him xD But he probably wouldn’t be a bigger idiot than he is now.

Leon fans now:

Why is no one trying to defend him? :joy:

It say something when characters like Jun(ko), Manerkol and The Hedonist have more fans than him.
EDIT most likely they realised that you can’t defend him without defending at least indirectly Ante too.

I’ve seen people defending Ante. Not anything I’d actually believe or be willing to entertain, but I’ve seen it.

Hmm. Maybe Ante wants King Dipshit to herself. And figures she could be queen.

Between the 2 which do you hate more?

leon is dumb but he isnt evil, Ante is evil and dumb

Leon. The asshole used my mage to win a war, all the while listening to the poison Ante spewed about her. Despite supposedly being in love with the mage, he didn’t lift a finger to try to prove her innocence, didn’t take a deep breath and try to reason things through–like the fact that she had repeatedly risked her life for him and his people–and didn’t listen to his friends about it, either. Instead, he goes off in a fit of rage and has the mage burned at the stake with no remorse whatsoever until his friend–who he refused to listen to beforehand–found proof the mage saved his kingdom by doing what she did. Then, he feels sorry for himself.

Now, throw on the fact that he knows Ante intentionally went after the mage with both barrels and her poisonous crap is what led him astray and ultimately ended with the mage’s cold blooded murder at his order, yet he refuses to get rid of the snake, and I hate him even more. Funny how he can be all calm and rational about Ante, whose lies and interference caused the mage’s murder, but when it was the mage sitting in a cell and then burning at the stake, he was too pissed off to try to see the woman who’d bled for his kingdom had not done something so horrible without valid cause.

Leon is a fucking waste of space.

When I criticize Leon on Reddit, there are always people ready to defend and justify him.

I have seen choice of games/wips comments on reddit but never decided to join on that debate in that website but in all honesty saine should have been the king, but too bad piram is a nation that values strength and not wisdom

She’s still in that position cuz we obliterated the rest. There was no one that could replace her

Saine would have been best for the job, it does make me wonder how come Leon couldn’t have just passed off the crown to Saine instead since Leon knows he’s not the sharpest tool in the shed. Would have solved Saine’s problem and Leon’s problem too especially if Julius wanted Leon as the next leader well if Julius was really even thinking that, for all we know he probably thought he’d live until he was old and have a kid to raise as heir possibly and didn’t think ahead about himself dying as a precaution, you’d think Julius would be more strict with Leon rather than Saine given how laid back Leon got to be in book 1.

What would be the rules for it because I mean Julius was rather smart at least from the brief moment we got to know the dude and from the singed praises of him, so wisdom must have to play a part at least some, never got to see Julius fight per say and he got murdered kind of quick for someone considered of strength. Kind of wish they could have made him have some heroic battle cliche for us to escape while in near death and say something cool like ‘Go Leon! You’re the next king of Parami! You must survive another day for this kingdom! Don’t try to help me but help the people of this kingdom! Your time will come but for now Live!’ and then you know get defeated while the group runs and all that jazz this would definitely would have solidified even more weight for Leon to rising up but really he didn’t really seem to have learned nothing from what it seemed in book 1, gave a clueless dude power without the means to even knowing how things worked basically, I’m sorry but I would have literally say ‘Yep I’m out! I fought the battle but I’m stepping down for my little brother to reign.’. :face_exhaling:

I hope when we meet Leon again he’ll be a little more aware and not take things by face value…Dude a master fighter with sharp instincts yet have trouble with realizing lies…he’s not a master of word battles or as some would say ‘talk no jutsu’. Where’s the Naruto in this world…we got to many Sasukes everywhere(no offense to the sasuke lovers just need balance).

I could be wrong but isn’t the royal life something Saine hates, but does out of obligation as well? He says in his day off that he’d prefer living the mage’s life in Leaf’s End over the royal life he “escaped” from. I could be wrong though. :person_shrugging:
