A Mage Reborn, Book Two (WIP) - UPDATED April 5th, 2025 | Book One Released!

For me, that’d be alchemy. I just love being able to cook up all sorts of cool potions and medicines.

Well with how the game trying to focus on just one art isn’t the greatest strategy,

So really I think people ought to share what two arts their characters use.

My Reborn Mage uses alchemy and spiritualism. Before the village subplot I was Spiritualism then Alchemy, but I switched that around- alchemy specialization with Nyx.

Although my last playthrough villagers still died, which makes me wonder how I screwed up since I distinctly remember it being possible to save everyone before…

I use alchemy, spiritism, enchantment, all of which are easily 75+ now

From what I’ve heard, the author hard coded it so that you can either save the children from the bandits, or save the villagers from the plague, not both. It’s supposed to be a “you can’t save everyone no matter how hard you try” thing, which I respect.

Also, I started with a specialization in spiritism and went with gweila, so Spiritist enchanter

You can save both, it just requires specific stats

My mage’s best skill is in Spiritism, then just behind that, and roughly equal to each other is Enchantment and Thaum.

Main stat is Spiritism. I love necromancy.

Can’t go wrong with raising servants from the dead to do your bidding like fetching you coffee and killing your enemies

AND it comes with bonus utility like making portals and phasing through objects? Sign me up

Thaum and Alchemy. Big murder explosions and cooking up potions is my mage’s skill set. Enchantment is close behind. Might consider switching to enchantment to see more options, but idk.

My MC is an alchemist first and foremost (because of cool potions and medicines). His next best skill is spiritism, and his third best skill is thaum.

Would your guy’s mages return to Param if they were exiled instead of executed? Mine would prefer to live out their life in exile without ever letting anyone know where they went. Except maybe Aunt Bess.

Beats being turned into a human meat skewer. Downside is you’d likely become a wandering mercenary for hire trapped in a depression due to your actions, get hired by a wizard as a bodyguard, meet a fae who joins the party, get chased by gorgon assassins, and end up back in the area you were exiled from to begin with.
Wait a minute… wrong WIP.

if Leon could pardon my MC, she will. xD Now I’m curious if what will happen if we were exiled instead but it’s less dramatic I suppose

One of my mages would still be a little hurt by the exile, but they’d come back sooner or later. They’re desperate for affection, what can I say?

Another one has always been more… cruel? I suppose? So they’d take this as a just punishment. And also never come back because they are extremely sensitive and that rejection made them feel like they didn’t owe anything to Param anymore, no matter how much they may be needed.

Come back to cast a curse on the royal family and observe with pleasure the misfortunes that befall them. That would happened if he had listened to his cruel and vindictive part of the personality.

If not… he would probably end up in some distant country and become a librarian in small town.

My mage wouldn’t be plotting murdering Leon and destroying Param if she wasn’t executed. Exile would be an understandable punishment and most importantly, it would be reversible. Leon chose to go ahead and burn his friend alive instead so now he and his country will suffer for it.

I think they meant would you return after the mage’s innocence was proven/after Ilya deciphered sister’s notes.

Not unless there’s a very good reason. Exile/banishment usually means you’ll be killed if you try to return, right? Even if my MC tries to come back, they might have to deal with vigilantes looking for revenge.

Oh right, so if they decide to pardon the MC. They would return, if only for their old friends. Say hi to Aunt Bess, explore the land and gain new knowledge.
