Amazing story.
First off if English is your third language, you write better than most authors and definitely better than anyone in America speaks it. Really well done.
Next, this is really good. I normally don’t buy choice or hosted games with less than 200k words but by the end of book 1 I feel it is definitely worth paying for and you should release the book if you can.
I wish in the prologue /book 1 you had a few more chances to see or be in the romance, instead of the “wait a little longer” but it’s still very nice especially at the end.
I like the magic system a lot too.
Hi everyone, it’s been some time! Thank you for the love–always a pleasure to read your thoughts on the game. I’ll try my best to respond to questions and bug reports, though I might miss some given the volume of posts!
This is fixed now in my private build, though I can’t remember if I’ve uploaded it to the current demo yet. If not, it will go online with the next update on the 15th!
That’s a great point! I hadn’t considered that.
Hi! As @JBento said, I meant that reply in a very neutral tone instead of offended, though I can definitely see how it might read as the latter. I apologize! Will do better in choosing my words moving forward.
There’s indeed a statue! Or so goes the plans at the moment. Future updates are always a little in flux as I change the storyboard around a lot as I get to the actual writing.
Here’s hoping! I expect Book 2 will take another year to fully write and debug, which looking at the Hosted Games pipeline right now might also be how long it takes for Book 1 to go online. I did take a stab at making the variable-setting scene(?) earlier this month, though I’m now fully convinced it’s better left to a month where AMR takes a break. A bit too much code-scanning for this poor little head of mine!
Thanks for the catch–flavor texts for Widow’s Stream and Banecircle had been mistakenly switched around. Fixes will go up with the next update!
Let me add the remaining 0.001% to that guess, haha.
You’ll be able to in the future! Pinky promise! x)
Fixed now (again, can’t remember if I’ve uploaded the fix yet, but if not it’ll go up with the update on the 15th!). Thank you for the report!
Fixed now in my private build
I appreciate it! English is my primary literature language, in that most of the media I consume are in English, but it’s definitely still a struggle sometimes.
I get what you mean! It is the demands of the plot, unfortunately, but I hope the romance’s true bulk later in the series will be worth the wait.
Pretty sure this isn’t in-game right now, but stuff I said on either tumblr or on here! I could be wrong, though. This game is getting pretty big, after all!
Finally got around to reading through this, really really enjoyed the story. I look forward to our friends reactions to us living again. PlusDefinitely wanting to tease certain people in regards to a dang holiday named after me. XD Keep up the amazing work and characters!
I meant big in terms of wordcount / game-adjacent content, but far be it from me not to say an amen to that! x)
Appreciate it, friend! Here’s hoping I can keep the quality up.
A beautiful poem, and eerie in how much it suits Leon’s romance path. Thank you for sharing this!
It’s all going according to plan, then! I’m glad the scene was resonant enough to affect such a powerful response. You’ll meet him again soon, no worries!
Definitely the first time I’ve seen this type of error around, I’ll see what I can do in order to recreate it on my end! Thanks for the report, and welcome to the forums!
Smaller update this time around, at only roughly 12k-13k words of fresh content, (the demo file has a technically higher wordcount due to how much of the scenes are shared between one another). Currently the game completes all paths of the Jiasei Blue Harvest festival, meaning two additional scenes for Eli, one for Yu, and minor additions to F’s second scene. There is also an additional variation to Eli’s first scene depending on whether or not you chose to break away from Arcadia!
Other than that, there have been minor tweaks made to Saine’s scene, namely the letter being brought up if you had chosen to write it to Saine all the way back in Chapter 5.
And I think that about covers everything! A normal-sized update should follow around this time next month, but for now I hope this can somewhat tide you over!
Link is in the OP.Your old saves should still work! But please remember that if you get a game-breaking error relating to the evar variable, or if Eli is missing their pronouns, you will need to load a Post-Demo 2.5 save.
Thank you for your patience and support!
New in this update:
New story content (+19k words, now 314k words).
Various bug and grammar fixes.
The Spirit Gate path of the Eli rescue arc
Coming next:
DEMO ver 9.0
Release date: Late February (Patreon) / Mid March (Public)
Planned features:
Roughly 25k words of new content.
(Hopefully) conclusion of the Yotai arc.
As always, thank you for following the development of A Mage Reborn !
Also, I’d like to lodge a firm and most vehement protest about me apparently pushing the cute redhead away!
I didn’t mention it last time, but I find it immensely funny that Yotai is apparently the great masters of fireworks, and yet one of the stars of the show was developed by a Salantiran commoner who was still in school.
Ooooh, I like the new options in Flyss 2. Also, handholding?! You pervert!
In the first option, there’s either an “I” that shouldn’t be there, or something’s missing.
Oh. Oh shit. I think I’ve figured out what, if anything, is going on in Jiasei, even though it’s mostly speculation on my part. If I’m right, it’s going to make this assassination thing a LOT more palatable.
Btw I kinda forgot about this game, why are the MC get burn, I remember that mc kill the Priestess but why can’t MC be truthful to Leon and explain MC action to him ???
Damn I want to be loyal to Leon but since he BURN me it kinda make me want to join arcadia, do MC have the option to safe the relationship with the Party ??
You need to see the play with Yu, then play through the information gathering scene. After the dude tells you the fireworks should be watched with someone who’s important to you, it should let you pick between anyone you visited during that first scene. I think. At least, that’s my experience. Note that when I say “Yu checking for consent”, I mean consent to hug you, not sexy times.
Btw, @Parivir still waiting for that poly route. Eh? Eh? Eeeeeh?
Not as of yet. It’s going to be implemented further down the storyline.
Weird, it doesn’t let me pick Eli, presumably because I didn’t do her first scene. Do you watch the play with Yu in this save? And what’s your relationship score with them?
@Gloomcat Ok, so, to test it out, I just reloaded a save that I have when you pick the options for the first scene, picked Eli and Yu, and it lets me pick between both of them for the second scene, and not Flyss. I was afraid it was some sort of save data shenanigans like I ran into in Golden, but everything seems to be working as expected for me. I dunno what’s the issue on your end. I can PM you screenshots of the Yu 2nd scene, if you like.
@Parivir Because there’s absolutely no game I can’t bork in unexpected ways, super bug: apparently, if you go for Eli’s first scene SECOND, the game thinks you tried to escape Arcadia. Like, I get this, which has nothing to do with anything that actually happened in any of my playthroughs:
@Gloomcat@Parivir Further testing has revealed what might be the issue. If you don’t point out to Yu that they left you without an umbrella (i.e., you tell them you’d run through the rain to watch the festival), it doesn’t let you pick her for the second scene for some reason. Can you try it out on your end, Gloom, and see if that’s it?
No problem. Looks like Parivir has some flags to move around and variables to kick.
