Yes to the investment, no to being able to test it out. You won’t be able to carry on something serious with Angel and anyone else. Partly because following their plotline will kind of isolate you from the other options, and partly because I have a feeling it wouldn’t turn out well for the other person.

It’s not wealth that’s important - I mean Angel will tell you that it’s all about the money for them, but Angel lies. They want something out of the arrangement, but it’s more like excitement, I guess

Well, 100 likes quality food, but he’s also the kind of person who will just forget to eat if there’s something important going on. Like, someone tell the man that coffee doesn’t count as a meal. Even if it has whiskey in.

313 tends to snack rather than eat meals, and drinks way too many energy drinks.

Angel’s actually a kale smoothies and protein shakes kind of person (if they’re not eating out, in which case they’re an haute cuisine person). It takes a lot to keep up that physique.

Vicki’s on a mission to find Mexican food that’s actually like back home. She has many opinions on the subject.

Hex is a little too fond of takeout. It’s a good thing they exercise a lot.

Gareth actually eats healthily! He tried to go vegetarian once but he likes meat too much.

I suppose that could be true, but still… Even the most egocentric people need others to fawn over them so that they can feel great about themselves, right?
I am not saying that Angel falls under that category, though they seem to have some of those qualities, I say it to sketch a clear example.
Naturally, I understand that it is very unlikely for the MC and Angel to ever have a ‘relationship’ that could be considered normal, but I like to think that even Angel could enjoy some kind of regularity in the person they wake up next to… only for Angel to disappear before the MC is awake without leaving a note or anything. And to suddenly appear at the MC’s dinner table in some fancy restaurant when they are horny in the mood for some entertaining company and for their food to be paid for by the MC.
Mayhap I have interpreted Angel’s personality (utterly) wrong, I would not be surprised if that is the case (since I did not play that much of the demo), but I this is how I view their personality for now.

Well… i suppose so, it is like “symbiosis mutualism” it is far more complicated than love relationship … it is just that they need each other to utilise their talents and realise the importance of one another

I am thinking more like MC is having a dinner date with that reporter … suddenly Angel appear and join in the dinner , having an interesting 3-person conversation

Angel : " We are partner in crime and i drop by the bedroom in the middle of night … "
MC : " Now wait… we did nothing at all… other than discussion of our next mission Angel "

Reporter : “What’s that suppose to mean ? "
MC : " We are just business partners and good friend … that’s why i don;t mind Angel joining for dinner "
Angel: " That’s so sweet… i thought you were worry of me shooting you in the back … "
MC : " Then you will have no one else to watch your back from both the authority and your old boss …”

I do not think so, to be honest.
Angel does not need anyone to be the best they can be, that is kind of the thing. I believe Angel only beds those they deem worthy (or for information and blackmail, etc; all for the mission), but not necessarily because Angel needs someone to complete her. In fact, I would not be surprised if Angel is completely and utterly certain that needing someone else would be a weakness and only bothersome. It would give her all the more reason to consciously and unconsciously create some non-verbal statement that she is not dependent of the MC (doing this by, as I said before, disappearing from the bed before the MC is awake, and only reappearing, a few days later, when the MC is in some fancy restaurant, or when Angel feels like sharing the bed again, or when the MC’s qualities could be useful in some mission or another).
Because Angel only notices the MC’s worth when the MC achieves well during their missions against Angel, right? Impressing Angel is important if one wants to court them. That way Angel sees potential in the MC and will want to turn the MC to the ‘bad side’. And, perhaps, along the way Angel’s interest/desire for excitement is sparked?

That actually sounds a tad bit jealous in my ears, something Angel will not be until in an ‘unusual stage of investment’ and only when Angel is afraid(? Perhaps a bit too strong of a word, but I have no better one for it) to lose the MC to someone else.
Though it could certainly happen, yet I would personally see this happen sooner:

Angel: Appears at the table out of nowhere Having fun without me, I see. Since when do you go to this place, MC?
Reporter: Pardon, you know each other?
MC: Ignores reporter It is just a glorified interview, Angel.
Angel: Well, let me help you to answer the questions then, so the reporter can go homewards and we can enjoy each other’s charming company over some caviar and a bottle of champagne.
Reporter: I would prefer to -
MC: sighs deeply Why do I always wake up alone in the bed?
Angel: Oh, don’t be pouty, MC. Places to go, people to visit. You know the drill.
MC: You cannot just break into my house whenever you feel like it, you know, I need a decent night’s sleep.
Angel: That is not what you said last night, darling.
Reporter: Are you two serious?!

Ok… so since I am playing as a male MC and am not gay… there is no romance choice other than Vicki.
So this is a downer for me.

That is not true, you can romance (female) Angel as well.
Though I admit… Angel is not everyone’s cup of poisoned tea…

Then there is also Agent 313, who can (just like Angel) be both male and female.
And Hex is non-binary, so technically they are not one gender.

In the very first post, where Scribblesome announces their game and offers the link to the demo, you can actually see the list of possible romances. It is underneath a summary at which you have to click and then it shows you whatever it hides under the cut (in this case it being the list of romances).

Agent 313 isn’t quite just like Angel, they’re always the same gender as the player, so if you’re playing a man exclusively attracted to women they wouldn’t work. I think if you’re a straight guy Vicki and Angel are the only options

There is one more RO planned to be introduced in future installments that might also work tho
