I’m wondering does everyone’s powers have some sort of a drawback like Arthur/Elizabeth getting severe headaches cause I think it’d prove to be a fairly interesting part of having these abilities
You may have answers to some of these thoughts sooner than you think
In a short answer; they do indeed. In fact, I’d say that’s a very interesting part of what the overall story is going to be, and something that is 100% going to be explored in this book!
Need apostrophe added here (Elizabeth’s boss)
Here just remove the (s) from pulls.
If I find more grammatical mistakes I’ll post them when I have time
So far I like the story, but I noticed if you choose to play as bisexual, after the train scene it starts referring to Samuel by she/her pronouns.
Everyone, I am about halfway done with Sarah/Samuel’s scene, then after that all that’s left to do will be Kris/Kristina’s scene and then Chapter 2 will be officially done. Then we can really get into the heart-wrenching character moments in Chapter 3. And oh boy… Oh boy I can’t wait.
Chapter three is the part in the story where things will really start to pick up in terms of seeing these characters when they are vulnerable. Chapter 4 will pick up with the case have have some really cool stuff to do with that. Then Chapter 5 will be the conclusion. It doesn’t sound like a lot, but there is still a while left to go until the end of this book and I am excited to go on this journey with all of you.
There are three extra scenes planned so far to unlock in Sarah/Samuels Scene, and I will periodically go through each chapter and add in extra scenes if I think they fit. Thank you once again for your patience!
cheers for more resident literally hot introverted demisexual content
I wonder how the nullification works. If I train my mc in hand-to-hand combat and nullify my opponent’s abilities then it won’t be too hard to win a fight against gifted. It was interesting I wish you good luck with it.
I do have to wonder what about people with physical things like blades or spikes coming off their body and we nullify that do they go back to looking normal or what?
That’s an interesting thought, but in order to nullify abilities you’ll have to touch you’re opponent which will be challenging if they use blades or other short range weapons against you.
@ViIsBae Personally, I’m waiting in anticipation to read Sarah’s romance route Already read the other two, just Sarah’s and Kristina’s to go. I’ll focus on the nullification when it comes into play
Speaking of the MC power. Does state anywhere that is an active ability or a passive one?
Also what’s the duration that other abilities being nullified (definitely not permanent of course). Like being nullified for a few hours or only a few second.
For example we touch Sarah and she can take of her suit without burning everything around or we have to cuddle her (in a friendly way) while she’s sleeping so that the bed won’t burn.
Depends if the MC is crazy enough to touch the blades or going right agains the opponent knowing full well it will be pain. But if the MC wins and is crazy enough why not ? ~
Wow, this thread was active over night! There are a lot of questions I can’t answer due to future spoilers, however there were some that I could!
-
The MC’s mutation is passive and always on! I guess Harper/Carter is part of the few exceptions to that rule in the world, as the majority of mutations out there are not by choice, therefore inadvertantly changing the Gifted’s life forever.
-
The MC’s ability only lasts for a short period of time (for now, at least). However, there are limitations to it, so for instance, touching someone with protruding, dense bones wouldn’t make the bones retract, but it would make them more brittle and have the density of regular bones. This is where not only mutation training will come into play, but also regular fighting training to be able to pinpoint where exactly you need to make contact with someone to have the most direct effect.
Ok I was concerned about that like if we have to touch some one to nullify their mutation and their mutation is they’re basically the human frigging torch how would we go about that or like the bone protrustions rather not become a shishkebab trying to nullify that
About these POV swaps where the MC is not even there… is there important information in there? They’re definitely spoilerly and I’d prefer to skip them if the game is still cohesive without them.
We talking POV swap OR a like flashback kinda thing of a pov swap
Personally, I would say those moments are pretty crucial to the overall story. I kind of like to think of the MC as more of a PC. I wouldn’t say there’s a main character or a side character between the MCT as a whole. I like to go more in depth with each of them, even showing moments the MC isn’t there, because it helps flush these characters out more and breathe more life into them. They all have their own things going on in the story. Harper/Carter’s struggle on how to tell the truth to their daughter, Sarah/Samuel’s struggle on how to deal with the loss of their best friend, Elizabeth/Arthur’s struggle on how much of a leader to be vs. how much of a friend to be, Kris/Kristina’s struggle with dueling with the idea of mortality and how it doesn’t necessarily apply to them, and the PC’s struggle of being thrust into this new, tense environment while still juggling the emotions of loss themselves and dealing with a not so great family situation.
In short, I think all of those scenes are important because without them I don’t think the story feels nearly as impactful, because each character should be given the same amount of care and attention. But don’t worry, if it feels spoilery, I can assure you there is much, much more left to be revealed about the characters and the story! The more extra parts of the characters where you can read scenes that might’ve interrupted the flow of the story are all put in the extra scenes as well, so those ones in particular are completely optional!
I hope I was able to sufficiently answer the question and thank you for reading!
Oh, I see. Maybe this isn’t the thing for me, then. I prefer stories with a single MC, especially if I’m only making choices for one of the characters. I just find that my choices tend to be heavily influenced by things the character I’m playing isn’t supposed to know.
If nullification worked like AOE ability then it’d too overpowered.
