Currently, it is someone who has not been introduced yet. In the next chapter they will be introduced, I’m still working on them as a person but what I have right now is the name Jamie, their age being 3 months younger than MC, commoner but promising talent in support arts so they are taken on board as currently just a medic, training to be some form of combat medic. I have more notes on looks/specific stats/personality and some other bits, but I will wait until I have it exactly how I want it before stating anything else.
Commoner is interesting, wondering how they’ll feel about half races. Commoners usually are even worse in fantasy stories when it comes to other races somehow.
If it’s planned then it’s good enough, I understand.
Just need to be patient about it.
If u can’t do it or struggling with it then it’s fine. U already said ro’s are not really needed since MC is still a child and it’s not a massive part of the story. Take it easy man. I’m just glad for a new character
Not always but it’s nice for some perspective from someone from a different walk of life. It’s remains to be seen about what kind of person they are.
Of course, I’m not saying that how’ll they’ll be, but it’s something I just notice.
Just dropped a minor update with some fixes and changes to your starting room, Sir Hadrian’s reaction to the training incident and the (seemingly tiny but was actually a HELL of a lot of work) change to make Ash gender selectable. I will be working on the next scene and the planning/introduction of the next RO alongside improving the fight scenes from now on. I run into blocks a lot and have a bit of a time doing RO stuff so doing them alongside each other should make it a bit more productive and closer to how I used to be when sitting down to write.
That update to the scene might look tiny but it was needed for good MCs or ones that left without hurting anyone. Making new paths for it and making it plays like it’s meant must of been painful. It just didn’t make sense with the way it was before.
I didn’t mind Ash as they were but it’s good anyone wanting something different. Don’t let the writers block stop you. You’ll eventually find a way around it.
Just threw out a quick update, nothing huge but it is some of the fighting improvements. There is more unique text for each weapon now rather than just a variable check, meaning the fights should make more sense and (hopefully) be much better. Those updates throw us up to 69k+ words now too, although I’m going to have to focus on the next scene as much as possible from now on, in order to properly start it off and introduce the next RO, I have spent a hell of a lot of time on that tournament sequence at this point. I love giving lots of options but my lord does it lead to a lot of work when tweaking.
got a bug .

Yes. When trying to account for all choices prior to next one. It starts becoming a spider web fast.
The advantage of doing Storytelling over writing. I can react to players choices live. Granted still gotta have few things set in mind. I find it easier anyway.
I drew up a building design. Setup security patrols, cameras, drone positions, everything. Spent several hours. It was a Cyberpunk world. They needed to break in, get something. One player said, “what about this way?” Which basically bypassed everything in a direct route. I rewarded their thinking outside of the box plan. Threw away the map. If they went the long way, I felt it would of been tedious anyway. Glad someone was thinking. Few of them lacked thinking outside of boxes. They ended up winning. I didn’t just hand the win over either. They did it right.
Ope my bad, I was a bit too focused on being happy to release another update I forgot to quicktest this time. I’ve released fixes for everything I and quicktest could find so it should be all good now! Thanks for letting me know!
Love u~~!!!
Only a small change but I decided to add it after seeing a comment in another place here on the forum, just added stat explanations.
I don’t mind stats as long as it isn’t too heavily dependent on them. Balancing them and storytelling can be difficult.
I love this story, I never knew it would be this fun to give someone a scar for hurting and sending a gang against the mc or they friend
Hey author the part about asking why you wear armour, I think it should mainly be used if we choose to wear the armour and the mc not wearing armour maybe you can put a dialogue about it with Sir Hadrian persuading them to wear the armour for the occasion, this is just a suggestion
and again I am sorry for sticking my nose in your book but you should consider changing get outta to ditch @William5738
Thanks for the feedback! In terms of Sir Hadrian convincing the MC, I’m not sure if there’s a good time or spot to introduce it. Maybe if they have a good relationship, Sir Hadrian can offer to delay things very slightly for the MC to get armour on? I’ll think about it and keep it in mind. In terms of changing the option, I can absolutely have that done for the next update, that choice is my personal way of talking leaking over into the writing so changing it is a great idea. Thanks again for your input!
Pre-awakening it does have to be a tad difficult but afterwards the stat checks will be lowered from the max to a more accurate number, so it will still be possible to fail but as long as you’re choosing something you have boosted it should be alright, at least that’s what my plan is for it right now. For context I have a chart displaying what each numerical stat value translates to in the world, and in the tournament there are stat checks above where a squire should be, but the MC can reach them. They will be more in line with the world in future, now that the MC isn’t just a neglected squire, but they’ve had a boost. I feel a little like I am rambling here so apologies, I just felt the need to explain when I saw the comment
It’s fine so there’s no need to apologise. Besides the game has been fine doing a good balance of stats and story so far anyway with the tournament and the doomed fight.
With craft arts is it possible for someone to change the shape of their weapon mid battle or is it only capable of changing hardess and durability? Also could you use craft arts to increase a weapon’s weight?
