:joy: To be fair, I made my MC go through the fight path because it makes for an amusing anecdote if she meets the old man again.

MC, seeing him again: YOU
MC: Stealing money and peeping at disciples? What kind of Elder are you?
The old man, shamelessly: You got a treasure for all of that, didn’t you?

Not quite? I just went “you need to be educated on what can or can’t be done” and prepared to fight him. He then says “Grandpa was just joking! How about a magical present as an apology?”

… Unfortunately, my MC fell for that.

I don’t want peace, I just want violence

Too bad the only time to use the upgrade void step is the wolves which screws us over.

But isn’t this tattoo temporary?

Yes this is true. You learn it when it comes time to choose your martial arts. The problem is that you can’t understand it 100% yet.

I really like how diverse the RO’s are. Good job, you’ve done a better job than most with giving each one a unique voice.

The Pretty Boy RO is pretty interesting to me. He’s the only RO without a clear background, beating Tigress.

As for the new fight, I wonder if we can get our hands on that skin-breaking ax skill I chose to ignore the first time.

After getting the old man’s gift, you can get the void treasure anytime u want by opening your inventory during meditation. After that you can upgrade void step like regular skills. Just make sure to convert all your gold to sect currency before opening the old man’s gift so that it is not wasted.

Your first option of having the ability to advance in any battle wouldn’t work because you fight a decent amount and if you had the ability to do that the mc would be at least peak Houtian by now😂
But something like perfecting your stats and perfecting one of every type of skill would work as an alternative to outside help or he could make it that once you reach a part in the story you gain enlightenment preferably before Tang Ruo reaches another stage.
It also doesn’t affect the fact that once Tang Ruo enters the next stage he becomes automatically stronger than people a level higher than him and could probably hold his own against people two levels higher if you used his Trump cards.
I personally feel to make the mc better skills would need to be expantiated on.
I don’t know what extra damage offensive skills do and like in the case of Tang Ruo it seems the only way to keep Tang Ruo realistic is by saying the only way he wins is through skill unless he has broken his stat limiter which wouldn’t make any sense since the mc doesn’t have the ability to do that so I would say if skills are given more explanation and made more relevant it could enable the mc hold their own against higher levels. I saw someone talk about allowing stats to be unlimited for the mc if enough exp was provided and be limited to those who want it and that would also work but it seems it would mean the author would have to write the book again so we might just have to wait till the author deems it right

Somehow, I noticed that it’s really easy to slide toward the demonic alignment, but there are very few opportunities to go the other way. Stuff like helping others or showing generosity more often than not have no incidence on your alignment, but be too rough in a fight and bam, take the demonic points.

This was already addressed and niki said he will add positive alignment points to already existing choice in the demo.
He also said he wants to add true good/evil karma tracker (what you actually are, and not how people see you) but probably only when the main storyline will be complete.

There’s a difference between being ABLE to advance in battle and advancing in EVERY battle. So far we have seen that advancement in battle is usually the result of a very tough fight, one you need to push yourself to your limits to even survive. That’s how the tournament advancement against Tang Ruo worked and it’s how Tang Ruo’s advancement to Middle Houtian worked.

It’s why I’m annoyed that the fight against the alpha wolf was just used as a way to show how powerful Long Chen is. That would have been a perfect fight for our MC to advance to Middle Houtian.

True but the scenario is actually more of a choice based scenario than an everyone scenario.
I am just saying enlightenment maybe during meditation is better route considering advancement during battle is considered a rare thing and even the mc and Tang ruo who is obviously op have had it once so it can be something used every two to three level advancement but making it in every level advancement would make it meaningless and considering the author is already of bringing out the true opness of the mc having them lose a battle or be in a losing battle to advance consistently would leave a bad taste in my opinion.
And blood purity kind of just gives more room to enlightenment hence making it a better consistent manner of advancement.
But fighting a hard battle can for sure be a good way for advancement as long as it is used reasonably maybe every two to three levels

Ah, that’s totally fair, I get what you’re saying now. Yeah, it doesn’t necessarily need to be through battle, just advancement without an outside source.

Aight, I’m going to be honest with you guys. Our favorite lizard boy didn’t actually need that fight to advance - he was ready to do so long before and just wanted to see whether or not he could fight an L-H as an E-H. Basically, he was just showing off :joy:

Yes, that’s something I’ll patch up by adding more ‘+rep’ into righteous choices
