Aparently righteous paragon works on the tiger tattoo? Coz i got 8k to stats after getting it. Dunno if thats a bug or not but I got this stats right after the auction.
Does being honourable or devious do anything at the moment? Cause there’s a point where you can train other disciples and it seems like it might fit there but idk
That was not intentional, now I’m not sure whether I should remove this interaction or keep it, but nerf Tiger Heart a little
That’s one of the events where it matters, yes. The more honorable/kind you are, the more students you will attract. If you are too devious, no one will come
Yeah, as people mentioned above, they don’t actually die (with a few clear exceptions)
Huh? I don’t think alignment plays a role anywhere in the arena (maybe in some fights?).
He takes his own life after the fight if you don’t reveal to him the truth/make him want to live again.
oops
both
Maybe somehow keep the boost from tiger heart separate from the stats? Like when you get the perk 1/5 of STR going to your AGI, that’s not shown outside of checks I think?
Also I couldn’t refine any stats after getting the tatoo and thay were around 6k.
Also, also I forgot to add I used old save on the new public version.
I’d say remove it. Penalizing the base version of the trait because an edge case gets ridiculously OP is effectively limiting the use only to that edge case and making it a flavor of the month until you inevitably come to conclusion another 20k to stats on top of 20k you get as it is, that’s simply silly and needs to be curbed. /s
edit: on unrelated note, this isn’t technically a bug, but maybe something to fix nonetheless: the option to visit Guo’s restaurant from the action hub automatically ends the current “turn” instead of just returning to the hub after you’re done. This isn’t indicated in any way, doesn’t make much sense and can potentially mess up the player’s game if they’re unaware of it or forget about it.
Seems there’s a bug in the implementation of Cutie Pie perk. The description states:
but the actual check is done as:
*if enemy_per > 0
*set value *((1-(0.05*passive_cutie_pie)))
Which means the effect will always trigger, regardless of MC’s charisma, because it activates if enemy has any perception at all.
Since I am dumb can anybody give me the meta build for a paragon character.
You’re currently in a race to beat the game before Nick fixes the heart tiger tattoo.
One more bug, or two i guess though one is more of inconsistency, with tattoos this time:
- the Tiger tattoo counts as “natural” stat level but with the way it is added to current stat value it effectively means that it only gives the “best” benefit when taken with all physical stats at maxed out 5k (or technically, at maxed out refined 10k)
What i mean is, if you have an attribute at 5k when you take the tattoo, it’ll bring it up to 9k. (and if you take it at 10k, you’ll get all way to otherwise impossible 14k. Or even more, read below) But if you have attribute at say, 3k when you take the tattoo, then it’ll be brought to 7k… but you can’t then spend 2k EXP to fill the “base” 5k capacity of the attribute --and get the 9k total-- without spending 2 refinement points to raise the cap to 9k.
There’s also another matter here, and that’s the 4k bonus from the tattoo is affected by Innate talents. Meaning, with tier III 50% bonus you actually get 6k to stat instead of 4k, etc. Probably another aspect of the doubled bonus from the alignment. It’ll also break the normal 10k limit on stats: taking it at 5k with 50% bonus you get 11k in the attribute, e.g.
- the Lighting Eyes tattoo:
*elseif (chosen_tattoo = "lightning_eyes")
*gosub_scene sbr increase_attr "per" 1000
because the Eyes tattoo is limited by cap instead of _limitless variant, if you take it after you already have the Tiger tattoo which brings you to the cap, or have simply maxed out perception spending regular EXP, you don’t get the perception bonus. (or you get a fraction of the bonus, if you’re at less than 1k to the cap)
Perhaps a way to fix these two issues would be to move tattoo bonuses to separate “buff” attribute for relevant variables, which are then added on the fly to the base numbers.
Aaand possibly one more: iirc fighting in the Arena is supposed to be done without equipment/treasures etc. But at the very least this doesn’t seem to apply to rings you can wear, even if they come from “Treasure Pavilion”:

Note the game testing full strength value instead of the “natural” part that’s MC’s own attribute.
edit: and now for something completely different:
*selectable_if (dao_elemental > 0) #Teleport after her (1 Qi).
*gosub_scene sbr dao_cost 1
Your Golden Seed pulsates, your qi churns: with a step, you disappear and emerge a hundred meters further. You repeat the sequence, until the woman, feeling you close in, looks at you again.
This _if should be checking dao_space not elemental.
edit2:
*if woman_rogue = "captured"
*if woman_rogue = "ran"
*if woman_rogue = "talismaned"
*if woman_rogue = "talismaned"
*if woman_rogue != "talismaned"
*if (woman_rogue != "talismaned")
*if woman_rogue != "talismaned"
all those checks will fail because the woman_rogue variable is never changed from its initial value "none" no matter the outcome of MC’s encounter with her.
Just went through the current patron demo and Jesus fucking christ, that is TOUGH. I’m ABSOLUTELY going to play on the highest difficulties now if that’s what I can expect. And shout out to whoever said “Paragon till death” and gave me a huge buff for being max virtuous, huge homie.
Also, He Gang is a fucking dead man. No man will EVER be deader than him. I’m going to Julius Belmont him, as in killing him so hard than he can’t even reincarnate anymore.
Oh man, the new game features kinda make a joke out of the slightly older content. Like, imagine you’re a pair of Tangs wielding SACRED IMPERIAL FIRE and you gang up on uppity Wu upstart, and in a string of 7 attacks with your exclusive legendary technique you deal whooping 20 damage to her, because she had the gal to buy a mid-level robe for 20k that slashes 1k of every damage taken. Oh, and one of you gets killed in the process.
Downright embarrassing. I guess that’s how it feels to fight Ruo with all his gear on. Artifacts > skill. :v
Truly the one thing that separates the weakest characters from the strongest: clothes and rings
It used to be one of hardest encounters before the robe shipment arrived, smh.
And tats lol you can become very op if you choose the right tat combo
Hmm not sure if an oversight or intended but if you win cards game with Xiao Chun and then win the “double or nothing” round and then beat the little shit up after he accuses you of cheating (if you don’t pass the charisma check) he doesn’t pay up what he owes you. Which is quite disappointing, especially because he isn’t in any position to refuse after you beat his luck in combat too, and he is eating dirt. ;/
(i mean, he’s technically unable to pay himself, but his money pouch didn’t explode. Also, you don’t get any qi from the corpse, either)
Haven’t played in a lil bit, but were those glitches with the tattoos and stuff fixed
I can’t take more than one tatoo option in shop is greyed out. I only took one. And there was some limit in the shop saying 19 i think.
After you get a tattoo the shop goes on cooldown for something like 15 days/events. The limit is based on MC’s attributes – it’s the sum of 5 attributes (all except charisma) divided by 1000.
