I thought the protocol was to kill the corruptant and we were locked up because we’re special/convenient? Which is the whole another level of effed up from the mother dearest.

They needed weapons to fight corruptants and you make it from using their blood. Mother didn’t want to kill us and figured tortured for weapons would be better.
And that is still what doesn’t make sense especially when the mother had the weapons good, have skilled people to use them good, they why on earth is the mc being brought out just because a few people died or a rumour going about, 9 painful years were stolen and the mother just thought to bring out someone, knowing that the mc have no say in the matter and is better than the other blackguards in skill with the full expectation the mc will be loyal with all that happens, is some bullshit and I am just waiting until my mc starts gaining that villain change

If the plot hole is that the “order” has experienced agents to take care of this, such agents are human, even with weapons that can hurt corruptants, they probably need a group to be able to take care of one, even the most experienced ones, and there is the possibility to find 2 in this mission and other demons.
This! Like… aren’t there other corruptants they can harvest the blood from? Why MC? Why only MC

Actually the plot hole I am talking about is the creation of weapons to fight against the corruptant or what were the blackguards doing to fight the corruptants that they name became famous before Mc and sam came to join, because it just seem strange in the way that the mother voiced that the torture was necessary for weapons, as if saying that finally now the blackguards can be even footing with the corruptants and that just begs the question, how were they able to become known for fighting corruptants if normal weapons were useless or what method did they use for dealing with corruptants

The normal can kill a corruptant from what i understand, blood weapons are just better at it. Probably squad of knights managed kill/ capture some and they were brought in for experimentation.

So I’ve been playing this over and over taking every possible choice and as far as I am aware there is no redeeming feature for the light side here, as far as the reading goes the Kingdom is pretty corrupt, and this is not my Kingdom to protect, the daily life still a crap (from childhood story), close family betrayed MC, people in immediate circle think MC as demon, while their close friend “allegedly” Didn’t know MC is being detained.
There is no immediate redeeming factor close to MC aside no longer being put on restraining chamber, it’s hard to justify saving the world if the world itself is so broken it needs a restart 
.
If MC care about one character why don’t they just put those character in chain and haul it then go away and let the world burn, I understand this is grim dark fantasy themed but still one need motivation to do work and so far there is not much to list, saving the world is tall order and there simply no motivation from roleplay perspective, while saving the world is good deed is it good to save criminal and zealot at the helm? Surely there is better life somewhere else than being bossed around by this people.

actually the friend said they knew but did not know what it entailed, which just makes it more wrong when they came to see us, like there should have been shame or guilt or something on them that tells the situation about us was messed up, and they betrayed the promise to be with the mc through thick and thin

To have more loyalty to the MC then to the adoptive mother because they are best friends and it is extremely much worse when they are the MC romantic partner

And what do you mean by loyalty because we’re literally only 2 chapters in and Sam and MC have only just reunited and talked, also don’t know anything about the other because they’re both different from last time they saw one another. Sam also been raised by adoptive mom for almost a decade since they last saw, obviously they are loyal to her. Not to mention you guys were raised to hate and kill Corruptants, yet despite all that and you being a Corruptant they still want to get closer with you again.

I think there’s clearly a reason Sam seems so numb that I believe will probably be gotten into a little later down the road. Remember, our MC has amnesia and the way we’re treated suggests more than simply a sort of bias against corruptants in general and more a personalized fear of our MC specifically, at least that’s the general feeling I get in various playthroughs.

The MCs blood is still corrupted but its purified compared to others thats why it can be used its " safer " for people to wield those weapon’s and not be corrupted from proximity.
All others must be killed cant use there blood.
@Elemental they were famous for fighting cultist and corruptants but those who were corrupted are very much deadly but they were rare. Yet with the rise of ancient king several cults popping up out of the woodworks and 3 very powerful corruptants at the same time along with the loss of several blackguards allready.
Its for those reasons the adoptive mother was able to convince the other powers that be to release the MC along with the fact they magical branded MC to the mother and her second. While its all sorts of screwed up to say the least the mother didnt want the MC killed so chose the torture path and containment.
That all said we havent seen yet what happened and why the MC was corrupted and did before being contained nor how we the MC is different compared to the rest.

Y’all seem to love shitting on Sam, but from their POV we see they are just confused, scared and indecisive, they also state they are broken. But why broken??? Questions ppl, QUESTIONS! We need answers! So before you all jump to the Sith side, perhaps wait till we get the whole backstory, of both why Sam says they are broken(did someone break them or did we??? We aren’t 100% sure) and of what actually happened for us to get incarcerated and tortured.

We havent the foggiest idea why we ended up in prison yet.
We do know the council wanted us locked up and made as weapons with our blood. Don’t forget, weapons COATED, don’t last. They don’t trust corruptants as mentioned. Mother helped the council but really didn’t want to do it. Thus her feeling of guilt.
The increase in corruptants, specifically the ‘named’ bosses are too big. Their soldiers can’t handle them even with coated weapons. This was made obvious that the named ones was too strong. They tried without us for a time.
Questions:
Why were we imprisoned? What did we do?
Has Sam tried to do anything at beginning or not?
Why is the father so adamamt about having us locked away and used? (If unaware, he is part of the council)
Did ‘mother’ try not to use us at first or was it forced at beginning?
Was the elf willing to do what she did at start or was there a conundrum first? (Didnt seem opposed at all though.)
Will we end up seen or learn more about brother and real mother?

Romancing is shaping to be great (when the MC is broken its always sad)
I love the broken MC. ITFO was the only other IF that absolutely kills the broken MC formula. If I gotta be honest though the MC here is clearly more broken.
