Hmm, that must be it. Guess I will have to start playing from that point again
Howdy, folks! The main part of the guide is finished with style guides for each style on normal difficulty. (Only up to the current end of the public demo). I still recommend playing the game blind once before following the guide.
Here’s the AP numbers I got for each style by the end of chapter 6.
Midorikatai - ~1.6k (200-300+ AP from soul treasures)
Akakiru - ~1.7k (300-400+ AP from soul treasures)
Aoyusumu - ~1.9k (500+ AP from soul treasures)
Kiihakai - ~2.1k (900+ AP from soul treasures)
Kurokonton - ~2.2k (600+ AP from soul treasures)

Not sure if I’m allowed to link to the guide twice on this thread. If someone tells me it’s okay I can just paste it here again for people to find it easier. Thanks.
Next up for the guide are a couple of mortal limit builds I have in mind. Expect 2 minimum.
Just a note, might be worth it to list also the numbers that you’ll get without taking both soul treasures in Ch.6. As it is, presenting these as the optimal choices is quite premature, not knowing how the alternative advantages come into play.
For the Kurokonton guide:
"Hells no, it's mine."
may not be optimal, since it damages your relationship with Guiren. You can comfortably pick the rock-paper-scissors option instead, since you can reduce randomness of it easily with Insight. (and just reload the page if you lose)
I only take both soul treasures in chapter 6 for the Kurokonton guide. Every other style only gets the Lightbringer soul treasure. I get your point, I can add the rough numbers the Lightbringer soul treasure adds to each guide at the end.
The Kuro playthrough is meant to be a mean b-word so that’s why I chose that. People are always free to choose something else. The guide isn’t meant to be optimal down to getting every rep point. Kosuke do be one of my spirit animals, lazy bum that I am.
Thanks for the feedback! (It’s the first one I got so I feel like I’m moving up in the world)
Just have the roc fight actual people for premium meat.
I was way lower than JDF’s true potential with this, you can get it to almost 9000 (maybe even over if you’re more efficient than I was) at the end of chapter 6. Turns out maxed out alchemy is better than maxed out handseals.
How’d you manage to get it so high? Most i could manage was 3400
Alchemy nerf coming soon lol
You think too small. Alchemy 15 (+1) is the true gamebreaker. + 3708 AP from the Lightbringer Soul treasure! (I’d post an image but I can’t.)
I bow to your wisdom. I try to keep the build guides’ skills to below 10 just so it doesn’t feel like we’re breaking the game lol

Quite a bit of codediving, but the main idea is to neglect basically all skills in favour of handseals and alchemy. JDF gives a base of 3 in everything, so you don’t really need to invest in them much. Do lots of moneymaking and cycling in chapter 3 with high handseals. Handseals focus got me the almost 6000, alchemy focus got me the less than 9000.
Ok so i now know what Kihaki sorcerer is, basically gojo
Other characters when they see the Aura Clash MC just gobbling all the soul treasures and shards he sees like they’re a midday snack and becoming stronger than a Sect Master:

I was in the process of making some random doodles of characters and eventually I got to my AC MC, and in the middle of making him I realised just how utterly baffling it would be to fight him for someone who’s never met or heard of him before ![]()
I’d imagine the thought process to be something like this:-
“Hmmmm, he’s much too short to be a Wild Chi user, and his appearance is much to wild and the look in his eyes too bloodthirsty—there’s no way he’s the Scholarly Kiihakai or a serene Ayosumu Style user. That leaves Cursed and Sword style, and looking at his not at all hidden and clearly cursed katana at his hip, he’s gotta be an Akakiru user!”
And as bro starts to ready anti-sword Techniques in his mind preparing to fight the equivalent of a Beyblade Levi, he gets ganked in the back by the best girl/bird daughter, as my Human MC with the ‘King of Dwarves’ height and has a Midorikata style flares his crackling green aura, grows in size by six inches in all directions, and rushes in to beat the living daylights out of him with his bare hands. And if he even un-sheaths Muramasa, he only seems to be deliberately hitting him with the flat edge and using it as a blunt weapon to break his bones——
And the challanger doesn’t know if it’s the blood loss or the multiple concussions, but he swears the last thing he heard before passing out was the wailing of the cursed sword about the lack of respect in the youngsters these days, and that back in his time it was rude to not be possessed by cursed blades when wielding them! What is the world coming to…
How do you get the crest of yin I only ever get the crest for Yang
Heresy… how is light so low
Maybe because it’s the most awkward element to get
