It’s traditional, or perhaps necessary, to say the technique’s name; maybe it makes it more powerful, increases the chance of success, or maybe it’s simply a matter of attitude. Perhaps it’s purely aesthetic, something everyone does. I think there’s a hidden reason. But when it comes to advancement, shouting “immortal core advancement” is unnecessary and weird. Tao is weird; he’s a villain, after all.
(I didn’t shout the advancement, it’s unnecessary)
If you chose the Akakiru style, you can romance Leona early on because she is your teacher. Therefore, you can make out with her after the casino raid because you two have already spent enough time together to do it.
Pretty sure that him screaming is the technique(and powering up) because later on he does scream his technique’s name “Puppetmaster” if you face him head on. Btw can you use the boss’s talisman on him?
Also Mao says something about saying “Immortal core advancement” out loud like it was a combat technique so I don’t think that counts as one.
Finally finished the first part of a walkthrough/build guide of the game. The first character’s a kitsune aoyusumu. It’s only up till the end of the current public version.
If anyone knows of other builds/walkthroughs of the game please let me know so I can link them in the first part of the guide. Have a good one folks!

Update 5: First Mortal limits guide done. Monkey Yokai akakiru merchant. Monke Business begins.
Update 6: Second mortal limits guide done. Corrupted Kitsune Aoyusumu. Nothing bad’s gonna happen when we lie to Angelo, right?
Update 7: Guidemaker is a hack. Do not trust me. This is not optimized for Ch 7 public. I’m updating earlier parts but I’m not making one for Ch 7 onwards until the cut content patch.
The point is that he doesn’t scream “Fake Aura Pressure Increase” or whatever when he uses his first move, just some basic “kyaaaa” or some shit. So the naming thing is evidently not necessary to execute a technique. There’s other similar situations where people use their moves without naming anything, that one was just easiest to find.
The only spot where the talisman could be used was the Taio fight, so far. I wouldn’t expect it to be option very often, it’d be one hell of headache to code all those potential techniques that 1% of the players will be in position to steal, if that.
Well I was saying that I think him screaming was probably a sound based technique by itself.
I mean naming your combat technique out loud is probably just a way to build up momentum for yourself in a fight and to increase your prestige as people will be able associate you/your sect with a powerful technique (“Thunderfall” sect).
What is weird is talking about advancing cores as if it was some special combat technique considering all cultivators can do it
I played a route with a high AP MC and I incredibly prefer the low AP MC because not only does it give me the freedom to basically ignore alchemy, but I think it suits the story better so far the first time we fight Jack he he had more strength and the advantage of friends the second time too and had another advantage of holding an aura with elements, against the taio he had a small army of bandits and was more experienced against the second taio he was stronger and had an army of demons and the demonic gate, but despite of all the advantages of our enemies we always win thanks to our SKILLS and our friends (and a lot of luck) that’s why I prefer an MC with less AP than expected (not to mention that beating an enemy five times stronger is more rewarding than beat someone five times weaker)
I mean, if you want the underdog experience just spread your cores evenly and don’t go out of your way to min-max. You’ll have to surge quite a few cores to get through the fights.
Well yeah, but then you’re quite literally “winning thanks to your skills” :v
