It’s a very pleasant surprise; most IF’s will just make you use [insert generic attack you’ve used since the beginning] or a piece of supplies you got very recently, but we can pull the stuff we have a long way! I love the stakes just introduced to the game; the loss of our teammates, as well as the introduction of so many different players trying to kill us at once… I know i sound like a broken record at this point, but the VIBE you’ve cultivated here is immaculate.
ALSO. THE SCENE WITH U???. IM. WEsdNHFUJREKNHFKER. I went through all of the options just because it’s., so good… LIKE. THE WAY THEY REACT WHEN YOU REJECT THE KISS… the chilling rage… U is both an extremely compelling character to connect with AND perhaps the most uniquely scary threat here, because we both can’t understand them AND understand them perhaps the most. Just… perfect. (I am terrified for when they reunite again, even if I DID end up having my MC go with the kiss-)
Forget Castle and Driver, forget Uly, forget Whiskey - I am team Mendez now! Go get them, girl! That’s what you do to assholes who take your kid hostage. I mean, she really has more than anyone out of our cast riding here. Saving the world from the horror beyond the veil is nice and good, but Mendez pulling all stops - that’s just glorious. Welcome to the team.
And yeah, I hope to see in the future more assertive romantic choices with Uly. I totally get why Whiskey can be either stunned or really angry at the time, but in the future it would be nice. Make U get that rapey talk in check and everything.
The film Elysium had some nice ideas, Matt Damon’s AKA Max Da Costa, the AKM with directed airburst rounds, and Sharlto Copley AKA Agent M. Kruger had a bunch of nice toys if your after any inspiration. @idonotlikeusernames mentioned Cyberpunk 2077, that definatley had some nice ideas. A lot of the grenades in that game were pretty cool, shoutout to the sticky recon grenade for saving me in stealth countless times.
ah-! I also forgot to mention, I do think Bacon is doing a good job at… how to put this… allowing the MC agency with U. Like- the narrative isn’t shoehorning the MC into forgiveness or regret…? Other than the little things about lust that I saw, the MC is able to fully reject U, but it’s nice that it doesn’t fall into the pitfalls a lot of other “Characters-that-the-MC-used-to-know” fall into, especially the more toxic ones. (Personally, I’m extremely excited to see where the narrative with U goes!! ALSO. VERY EXCITED for a reuniting with our teammates, considering Mendez is in the equation now!)
I played the shortest update before this one, I’m glad this time I remembered to follow the notifications here this time ! Also ! I love the way you put the feelings in the MC, I’m not good at explaining it- but to make it simple, I love the way you write !
And yeah I agree with a lot of people, yeah I understand why MC fleed, because they don’t want to die but it was such a bad timing to do so ! Even more when I choose the option to let Ulysse kiss the MC !
I just finished reading the new update and I have to say threatening a gang with a bomb in their own restuarant with patrons around is such a baller move. I can only imagine Whiskey covered in dried blood and wounds just adds to the scary aura they gave off in it as if they were a demon.
Good catch. I have a tendency to overuse lines I find cool sometimes, forgetting how many times I already used them in previous parts.

Those comments only show up if you chose options in previous chapters about longing for them. If you didn’t, those comments are replaced by much more neutral ones.

I absolutely adore your stories, and this particular WIP is becoming my favorite I believe! Your plots and writing skills/style are unmatched! I cannot wait for this and ITFO to come to life so I can play the heck out of them.

On somewhat related note I just can’t stop picturing Whiskey nagging U for their non-regulated haircut. Like, what is this mess, do you want to get hair in your eyes when you shoot, or what? Also maybe Whiskey trying to fix the situation by making a little piggy tail from the front hair.
This is one of the best IF material I’ve ever read. The setting and story writing is so epic. Want to elaborate more on what I’m feeling rn, sorry can’t express them into words.
The only regret I found that didn’t add up to the plot is when the MC ran from U after that bleak of a much-anticipated passionate reunion. I don’t understand why this happened, like this wasn’t meant to be. I don’t feel U in anyway is wrong in their quest. Options given like MC smacking U and so on ditching them to their devices, ultimately, the betrayal, not once but twice, circumstanced, didn’t sit down well with me, or maybe I fail to understand the intricacies of the backstory. If anyone have thoughts on it please do share.
I think Whiskey being aprehensive regarding U is justified, from the little we know of when they were seperated, Whiskey ended up shooting U, so whatever happened was really significant.
